Feedback:Game updates/20260901
https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedback:Game_updates/20260901Skill updates
- Mirage Cloak: Adjust additional block chance to 4..10 (so that Earth investment is required) and fixed a bug where damage from enchantment removal was getting improperly multiplied.
- Focused Shot: Removed errant cast time.
- Soul Twisting (PvP): Fix typos in in-game description.
- Animate Flesh Golem: Pull the (somehow) living Vabbian peasant from the corpse pool.
- Symbols of Inspiration: Reduce recharge from 15 to 10 and increase duration from 1..31 to 6..40. (This change was in the original update notes, but the game data wasn't properly updated.)
- Mistrust: Fix bug where original target was being treated as an AoE target.
- Overload: Fix bug where original target was being treated as an AoE target.

Focused shot needs a tad more damage for it to be viable I think

The most baffling part is that focused shot was BETTER before this change.
Before, it was excellent for bar compression, given its 2 second cooldown; it allowed for the creation of basic, versatile early game hybrid Ranger builds for MA characters.
Focused shot actually had a strong identity as an attack skill that punched above its weight, with the drawback of discouraging any more investment in bow attacks. Now it's just useless.

A bit harsh to call it useless. A cheap attack with a boatload of true damage that should never stray and can't be blocked is unique.
You can still use it at the end of an attack chain while your other skills are cooling down. Could use the downtime to cast a prep, a Spirit, Troll Ungeunt...
I dont think it will find its way onto MY build, but I could see it on heroes that have issues with target selection/block. It gives a little more power to non-shortbow builds too.

That's just the thing; I don't see it finding its way into any of my builds either.
It did before. It was niche, and mostly an early game option, but it was genuinely useful for bar compression.
Now, the numbers and functionality look good on paper, but in practice its too clunky to justify its use. Heroes won't use it well. Players will have to run in circles to use it at the end of a skill chain without impacting any pending cooldowns.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there is a use case that justifies this rework; I just can't see it.

I agree. Honestly, if you run RTW to make all attacks fly faster, Focused Shot is just a worse version of Arcing Shot (which IMHO was buffed up to a fairly efficient and viable bow attack).
The long disable coupled with long recharge is very disruptive to combat flow. And if you're wanting to build around a high damage clunky bow attack, Marauder's Shot is right there with drawbacks that are easier to mitigate.

I wish flesh golem didn't still spawn random dead peasants but at least they fixed the living one I guess

No dancing daggers buff still that was on the notes? Come on.. it will still be bad but caster sin will be playable 2030 by this rate.
Also revert the Dash PvP nerf it’s silly or move it to Critical strikes.

Enjoy the time we have with 4 adrenaline Rush
They're catching up to us casters sooner than later at this rate

Yeah I run rush with my sin but it sucks to be locked to War secondary to have movement speed skill as sin lol. I still pick it over Dash even if I invest some points in Shadow Arts.
The funny thing is other classes have easier time to afford investing to Dash than Sin. Doesn’t seem right does it

I would prefer to keep it outside an attribute, but increase the recharge to 10.
If the meta requires sins to go 12/12/3 (or at most 12/11/6), that's what should change in general. Maybe we need a flat +2 energy per crit, instead of scaling with Critical Strikes.
I don't mind something like (just guessing here) Blood Necro easily going 12 in Shadow Arts. That's just part of the primary-secondary-system.

This big fix will increase its damage. Since it was treating the original target as an AoE target they were taking 75% of the damage they should have.

No, this will be a nerf (or in this case a bug fix.) It was actually doing twice as much damage as it should have been. It was like 20...80 or something instead of 10...40. Either way, it will still be a strong skill, just not S+ tier.
