[Question] Map traversal
Is there an add on that shows the portals leading to the “next” area on the maps? I’ve found myself (as a fairly new player) having trouble at times finding my way through maps.
I have blishHUD downloaded.
EDIT: I did indeed find the map portals option in both the Tekkit package and Lady Elyssa’s. Thanks all for your input!

Usually roads that lead to a map border are a indicator

Sokka-Haiku by Treize_XIII:
Usually roads
That lead to a map border
Are a indicator
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

One of the pathing packs, I believe it's Lady Elyssa's or something similar to that has the zone portals included as a checkbox option....though not every zone is accessible through a normal traversal portal. In this cases peep the wiki, each zone has a "getting there" section
I use it all the time still when im on alts

I rely on the wiki. Sometimes there isn't an obvious path to get to the next higher level zone, but the wiki will tell you how to get there .

Once You know what to look for it's easy to spot portals and possible portal areas on connecting points of maps in core game and when it comes to expansions the story leads you towards next map as it progresses.

With BlishHUD get the Pathing Module.
Then download the Tekkit's Guides pathing pack.
Under Map Enhancements you'll find Portals Between Maps.
(You might also want to go through and turn most other things off. At least for now as it can be quite overwhelming with everything enabled.)

For now? I use tekkit's and have most things turned off at all times xD. i mostly use it for achievements or JP/races kinda thing tbf.

I just meant like, there's going to be times when you'd want to turn certain things on while you're working on them.

If you look at map completion trails like tekkit they will start at one door and finish at another. There is a grid style image online that shows a mark where each map joins to another .. I often use that. It's not as easy to find these days but it's still out there.

there are community made "overlays" but if you really have issues you can just check the wiki.
i just google gw2wiki + mapname to look up specifics. it also comes in handy if youre missing that one single point of interest. some of them can be very tricky if theyre hidden in a cave or require specific events or hidden achievements to access.

That's a one-time problem, and once you found the other map, you can just port there without ever plotting a path again.
The technical solution would be blishhud, that create an overlay window over your game, displaying additional information. Tekkit has markers and a guide. But setting all that up for the first time will likely take longer then exploring a bit.

If you do the story, it will usually take you through the maps until you have many waypoints unlocked. That's how I did it at first.
If you have the item, you can also use teleport to friends to help you get around.

If you are new consider yourself as an adventurer and explorer.
