I'm curious as to what the community thinks about this fight.

To me the fight's one of the best I've seen in Gundam. The sensors alarming repeatedly made me a bit uncomfortable but nevertheless it showed the intensity of the battle. This together with the cockpit shots and the pilots struggling definitely helped with the immersion and I can't wait what will happen next. And I could never forget Lane's reaction when he's about to get cooked (literally) inside the cockpit. I could feel his fear myself!

I've been getting back into King Crimson recently and noticed that the first part of the song "Lizard" (from the album of the same name) sounds very similar in terms of melody, tone of voice and instrumentation to the song "Beginning" by Daisuke Inoue, featured in the Encounters in Space movie.

Now this might be a stretch, but considering that Lizard came out in 1970 and King Crimson was pretty big in Japan from what I can tell, it's not Impossible to imagine that Inoue was inspired by their work when he made "Beginning." Funny how very distant special interests can collide!

I always liked some of the design choices for the antagonists in certain series.

To me what really helps sell the look of the XI and make it scary is how stiff it is. Even more so than any other gundam, it feels weightless and seems utterly unconcerned with respecting gravity and the forces of physics. When it first comes out the water in H2 you instantly know that this is a heavy war machine.

Noa Hathaway is a sad man, not a hero. This is my conclusion after seeing the second movie, in the first movie the interpretation is still open: Is hathaway actually a hero fighting for the oppressed or is he not? After the second movie im sure that Hathaway is actually in fact a miserable person dealing with heavy mental issues, including PTSD, trauma and depression. He takes on the roll of Mafty for the sake of self destruction, he takes the roll so seriously and so heavily that it will end up him towards self destruction, and he is well aware of this fact and so is Kelia who realized this.

Kelia couldnt see him self destruct while watching as she was hurting, so she left Maftys organization. She hopes however that Gigi somehow could stop his self destruction, but who knows what will happen in movie 3. Hathaway is in this self destruct mode because he hates himself for what he has done during CCA, he blames himself for the death of Quess and of course for the fact he killed Chan during a rage burst, 2 people he liked. Hathaway therefore wants to punish himself, and he knows leading Mafty a terrorist organization will eventually end up at self destruction. He clearly states in the second movie that sacrifices need to be made and he is willing to become the sacrifice.

This is kinda my interpretation, I'm open for more opinions.
