Next five fixtures (four away games in ten days)

Post image

Very tough imo. How many points do we get from the next five games?

Impossible to get 15 points considering Ipswich is a Carling Cup game but I respect the optimism.

u/ahuangb 3h ago

Nah I'm '94 haha

u/GKMCity Thierry Henry 2h ago

So am I and it'll always be the Carling Cup to me in my heart!

It's also cool that you can kind of age someone by what they call it, Milk Cup, Coca Cola Cup and Carabao are the main ones I hear. Tbh I don't know if that's much of a thing.

u/RedScareRevival Nigel Winterburn 3h ago

At least they didn't say Milk Cup.

That's right, it used to be sponsored by milk.

u/actionalex85 3h ago

Some day Big Milk is pulling the strings in the league cup to this day.

Yes boss

u/Fleetfox17 Havertz 2h ago

It's a cup game.

2

u/robins420 It's nowhere near! 3h ago

Napoli away isn't against Maradona's Napoli. Both midweek fixtures will see some rotation.

1

u/Zohren Saka 2h ago

Ipswich are still a PL team, and they know the Carabao Cup is one of their better chances for silverware. We need a rotated team, but will 100% need some of our quality starters for that game.

2

u/Whitew1ne 1h ago

Need in what way?

Wenger-style youth. We lose, who cares ?

u/PassableArcher 27m ago

Guarantee there’s an overreaction here when we play badly in the later games, even though it’s a statistical fact that teams do worse and worse each successive away game

u/m2sempre Thank you very much 4h ago

WWWWW.

u/AfricanRain where’s the Arteta money Bill 4h ago

I feel so secure in the Rice Bruno G Zubimendi MLS rotation in midfield. What a world.

0

u/visualdescript 1h ago

Rotation, we don't do that here.

Be ready for Bruno to be perms injured, and Zubi to be relegated to the Norgaard / Jorgihno role.

10 from the 4 league games minimum

Seen Ipswich is a cup game, forgot.

9

u/Britton120 Saka 4h ago

5 wins, 12 goals scored, 0 goals allowed

24

u/Shylocksi Thierry Henry 4h ago

Honestly see 15 points incoming. Chelsea can't defend for toffee. Brighton will be the most difficult game though.

20

u/trujzi 4h ago

I think Sunderland is going to be the toughest.

12

u/lubeylemon 4h ago

Yeah not where you wanna go on a Saturday 8pm KO. Win this weekend and I’m a lot more relaxed points-wise with the SUN and BHA games

5

u/AfricanRain where’s the Arteta money Bill 4h ago

Fucking horrible they couldn’t have pushed that to a Sunday early kickoff at least.

4

u/Pires007 3h ago

yeah, the Sunderland game easily could have been moved out.

2

u/ThinGrass3138 4h ago

Of our league games I think it's the easiest tbh. Tough place to go yes, but also the weakest team by a big margin.

1

u/Tiemen10 Saka 4h ago

Chelsea will be the toughest by a mile lol

1

u/trujzi 4h ago

They're very nice, conceeding a lot.

6

u/ThinGrass3138 4h ago

One is a cup game but yeah, I think we have a good chance of winning the rest. Would be alright with a draw against Napoli but should probably be winning that too.

1

u/It_is_not_enough 4h ago

To be fair their keeper signed literally that day, so they had no time to train together whatsoever. Not saying they'll completely turn it around in a week but one game isn't very representative

4

u/Efficient-Guide1244 Ødegaard 4h ago

How do we always end up with 4 away games in 10 days 😭

3

u/sunofagundota 4h ago

Essential to beat Chelsea early

6

u/ShaunJo1407 Raya 4h ago

Given how susceptible to injuries our squad is, we should just play the kids in EFL now

2

u/Mhettil Premier League Champions 25/26 1h ago

That's 11 days.

You dont get points for cups games

7

u/Brandaman 3h ago

Not with that attitude

2

u/KennywasFez Thank you very much 3h ago

We just gotta try harder

4

u/PACKA123456 4h ago

At least we’ve got good squad depth up front, oh wait.

12

u/Pires007 3h ago

What, you don't think Eze,Gyokeres,Madueke can beat Napoli or Ipswich?

-10

u/PACKA123456 3h ago

Not Napoli nope.

5

u/Adventurous_West2 3h ago

Why's that? They aren't that good, and we are. We beat better with worse last season.

1

u/matepanda 4h ago

All the points

u/goonerfan10 Champions of England 25/26 4h ago

Ipswich is cup game.

1

u/ArsenalBOS 4h ago

Chelsea, Napoli away and Sunderland away within 6 days is obscene.

1

u/Echoes_of_Space Gabriel 4h ago

Mentality check with that away run

1

u/Okay-Lychee 4h ago

Only tough game is probably Chelsea, i expect a win elsewheres

1

u/Tiemen10 Saka 4h ago

I better not recognize a single name in that Ipswich game

1

1

u/sandio90 Saka 3h ago

5 wins, 1 goal conceded

1

u/Ordinary_Material175 3h ago

BHA away looks like the banana peel there. Toughest team and last away game.

1

u/TheMuff1nMon R.I.P. Mitch the Tortoise 3h ago

Need to win all 5

1

u/odegood Ødegaard 3h ago

Basically going on tour

0

u/DinnerSmall4216 3h ago

We have the hardest run out of anyone but one game at a time we have to play everyone twice. Cup ties we have no control over.

2

u/WealthyBigWang Ramsey is the saviour. 3h ago

Just beat Chelsea, Sunderland and Brighton and I don’t remotely care much about the other two results tbh

1

u/and_yet_another_user add your own /s if you need one 3h ago

One of those away days is not like the others.

Imagine chilling with a pizza and glass of Piedirosso in a cultural centre by the coast.

ahh Sunderland, what a city.

1

u/Adventurous_West2 3h ago

12 and a cup win.

1

u/DigitalCoinMad 3h ago

We should be fine.

1

u/Dapper-Stomach-6387 3h ago

All games except Chelsea should be comfortable wins. We should be able to rotate in all matches except Chelsea.

Have people forgotten how fogging good we are?

0

u/FoxMcCloudOwnsSlippy 3h ago

Really wanted a home game for my birthday...but alas...Naples it is for the lads.

1

u/Chidoribraindev 2h ago

8 pm weekend games should fuck off back to La Liga!

1

u/Keybarrettmsc 2h ago

Treat the I don't carabaout cup accordingly please, Gaffer

It's eleven days. But still a lot of travelling in a short space of time.

Brighton away is going to suckkkk

1

u/PassableArcher 33m ago

Is there not an awful international break 3 games in this season? :O Always drives me mad

0

u/Rakker008 3h ago

Busy schedule for our only LW from the Belgian Jupiler League!

-2

u/DrBunsenHoneydw 3h ago

Berta's days are numbered. Ownership had to intervene for our only 2 significant signings this summer and he managed to weaken our attack after we won a title. He also pushed for Gyok in spite of Arteta's reservations, and now we're already trying to sell him.

Hopefully we survive until January without big injuries, because our sporting director seems to wanna sabotage the entire project

1

u/EeviKat Champions of England 25/26 3h ago

Okay but the question was how many points are we going to get from these fixtures not your personal thoughts on Berta.

0

u/DrBunsenHoneydw 44m ago

The two go hand-in-hand, we’re gonna lack depth as we try to deal with fixture congestion

0

u/WheelIllustrious9 Havertz 4h ago

At least 13. But these are all very winnable.

-1

u/krakends 4h ago

Brutal must win run of games. CL fixtures are also front loaded.
