So this figure is from the Japanese series "Space Musketeer Bismarck", known in the US as "Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs".

The ship transforms into a giant robot and was voiced by Peter Cullen

As I saw someone comment somewhere "Optimus Prime doing a John Wayne impression".

He also voiced other characters in the series, notably Commander Eagle and Nemesis.

I sometimes forget RAMROD was also voiced by the late, great Peter Cullen. Powerstride, and ready to ride and all that shit.

How's the kit? Kind of been curious about how Moderoid kits go versus Bandai or Koto sets, and specifically this one

I'm very satisfied with this one. Minimal partforming, great fitting. One thing I should warn though is the red part that connected to the plane body is so thin and prone to stress mark when you force it in.
Also the backpack kinda heavy so he's pretty hard to stand on his own, they mitigate this by giving you an option to have a premolded cape to replace the transforming one and as a bonus, the transforming one can be displayed as the ship so you can have both displayed like in the photo.

That being said; moderoid can be hit and miss sometimes. The other one I have was Galvion, and I don't like how they rely on 'partform and fit to a car shell' method and there are a part so wide that habe a nub about 5 mm wide, it's likely the widest I've seen in any kit XD
