Could CP Commandos exist in Half-Life 2? [Theory]

I have a theory that the Combine could have a special type of Civil Protection called CP Commandos.

They would be CP officers who are highly conditioned, physically enhanced, specially trained, and given better equipment.

They would operate at the highest-security level of the Civil Protection structure.

They could be used for:

• High-risk raids
• Hunting Resistance members
• Protecting important Combine locations
• Special missions
• Supporting or commanding regular CP units

They would be more advanced than regular CP, but still separate from the Combine Overwatch.

a visual reference for what a modified CP Commando could look like. It is not proof that CP Commandos are canon.

What do you think? Could a highly modified CP Commando unit realistically exist in the Half-Life 2 universe?

No.

CP is specifically designed by nature to use unmodified humans as an ad hoc police force.

Those that want to join the Combine are moved from CP and are modified.

It's the only way we have the man on the inside in the form of Barney. If Metro cops had to be modified in any way he'd just be another combine. The Metro cops are kept in line with slightly better rations and housing, and non mechanical reproductive simulation for completing objectives. This could be a drug cocktail administered by the suit they wear or they get a turn on the precinct's vr headset in the goon cave.

Yes but the problem is that it's easy for the Combine to lie.

Promoted CP cops to Combine soldiers have their memories purged on the promise their families will live better lives.

These would've been done with either soldiers or teams of higher ranked CPs that are issued SMGs.

We actually see this in the beginning of Half Life Alyx during the raid being done by a protection team (most likely the predecessor of stabilization teams/soldiers in HL2). Ofc this is also ignoring the raid of Black Mesa East which would make sense to be done by regular soldiers since it's a major resistance base.

Looking at the beta, you could argue that Elite Metro Cops could've acted as a SWAT like force, but we don't know their true purpose. However common consensus (and correct me if I'm wrong) is they would've just been the leader of a unit of CPs/Metro Cops.

Also for regular resistance members, it'd probably just be a normal CP unit that's been issued with pistols (and maybe one "leader" with a SMG)

No. At most Civil Protection will have something like Team Leaders and maybe something like a Sector Leader unless the AI does take these roles. But those will be not more trained, just getting more rations. If the Combine need any Special Forces they will send Overwatch.
