help please
i have a 2014 dyna it’s my very first motorcycle and honestly first experience period , it’s a fantastic bike so i’m trying to keep it maintained i posted in the dyna sub reddit too but i want all the advice possible . how to do i get these mount bolts off!? i have all bits , ive tried ratchets , and they snapped. i dont wanna strip my bolts . im asking for genuine advice here .

I bet they are heavily coated in loctite. Try a heat gun on them. If worried about the paint behind it get a solder heat shield for plumbing and place in-front of it. Then slowly work it by loosening and tightening. Keep good downward pressure on the ratchet as well. Do not use power tools.

Hand impact driver might do it. Get impact rated bits. Insert bit, hold it firmly and whack it with a hammer.

I've used one for many years. You have to hold it tight into the fastener or the hammer blow will make it bounce off

While you are there, buy that 1/4” 12 point 3/8 drive socket also you will need it for the brake pads. (07 Electra glide ultra classic)

My 2016 FXDLS took PB blaster soaking multiple times then a 1/2” extended breaker bar and I used an impact rated Torx socket. Absolutely too tight and/or galvanic corrosion. No evidence of thread locker when they came out. Made sure to put anti seize on the new ones.

Snap-On torx bit socket on a 3/8 drive ratchet. I dont think theyre loctited but heat never hurts either

I always used map gas torch on bolt away from fender to loosen loctite. Then I shaved down a torx ball tip bit to get in there without damaging fender

Why are you confused on how to get them off? Torx bit and ratchet. Lefty loosey.

Run on down to Lowe’s and get yourself a set of these to go with your ratchets. As a proud new owner of a Harley Davidson this will not be the last Torx bolt or screw you will encounter.
