HealthyHooha Update 2026

35 Upvotes

EDIT:
TLDR - Don't be a transphobe. Don't be a creep. Mods are being recruited. Add user flair. <3

Hello Healthy Hooha community! We hope everyone is thriving.

We wanted to check in with everyone and offer a few reminders and acknowledgements.

·       This is intended to be a safe, inclusive place for vaginal health. Trans individuals are welcome here. Bigotry, nastiness, and rule breaking will result in comment/post removal and a ban. We have additional resources in the sidebar regarding trans health.

·       There are creepers here. They may DM you inappropriately or leave comments with a fetishizing tone. Flag their comments and report them to us, and we will ban them, as this is against sub rules. HOWEVER, please keep in mind, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the community and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting.

·       To that end, we are making a concerted effort to increase monitoring of the subreddit. On the one hand, there’s only so much we can do to avoid inappropriate content/comments, short of making the subreddit private (more on that in a moment). On the other, we can improve our modding efficiency using the tools available to us – and have been making strides to do so.

·       We are recruiting more moderators to help with this. We acknowledge that the sub has been undermoderated lately.  Our vision with moderating going forward is to moderate in “real time”, meaning avoiding having to wait for troublesome comments to get flagged and instead remove them before it becomes necessary. If you are interested in modding, please see the application form. The existing mods are establishing vetting guidelines and will recruit accordingly.

·       We’ve occasionally noticed comments asking why this sub isn’t private. Our vision for this sub from the beginning was to make vaginal health visible and accessible – a place where we can share our struggles, commiserate, and feel less alone. Privatizing the sub, in our opinion, is counter to that goal. But we also understand that this makes creepers and fetishists more likely to invade a space that isn’t for them. With an increase in moderation and moderator tools, we hope to combat this and keep vaginal health visible and accessible to those who need it.

·       Consider doing searches for commonly posted topics. As a reminder, photos are technically allowed but in all honesty are rarely helpful, and no one here can give true medical advice.

We are also going to be testing a new feature - designated some posts as Flaired User Only posts. This will restrict comments to users who have added flair from this community. Mods will be using this at our discretion to limit comments to flaired community members only. We think this will be helpful in limiting off topic, fetishizing, or otherwise inappropriate comments.

We thank everyone for their patience, and for your involvement and support in making this a reliable safe community. Wishing everyone well!

HealthyHooha Community Check In

36 Upvotes

Hello to our beautiful community! We wanted to check in, provide updates, and answer some FAQs/give clarification.

  1. Banning users - We often get modmails reporting users that are requesting DMs and/or being creeps. We'd like to clarify that we can and do ban users that do this. It should be noted however, that banning them does not stop them from viewing the sub and DMing users. It only stops them from posting and commenting. The only way to actually keep people from viewing the sub is by going private - something we've always been committed to not doing in order to keep it accessible for those who need it. If you notice someone soliciting DMs/photos in posts or comments, please continue to report and modmail. We highly recommend directly blocking anyone who actually sends you unwanted DMs.

  2. Crossposts ARE allowed, but they get caught by our AutoMod filters we have in place. We have to manually approve them. Same with any sort of link/photo even if they are not NSFW. We have this in place to avoid NSFW photos showing up in users' feeds.

  3. We will be recruiting more mods soon. We are in process of coming up with screening questions/application for approval. Higher education credentials strongly preferred. Stay tuned for the mod application.

Thanks for you patience with us and for making this a beautiful, supportive, inclusive community. Happy holiday season to all, however you celebrate.

Has anyone with a long labia minora had it pointed out by the gynecologist?

Upvotes

She asked if I had any discomfort regarding my labia minora. When I asked why she had that specific question, she told me my labia minora was longer than normal and that they are supposed to be the same size or smaller than the labia majora. She explained people with long labia minora often report discomfort with chaffing, it getting stuck in pants, or hurting during sex. Labioplasty was brought up as a solution if it ever starts becoming painful.

I know bodies are different and all but fuck man. To know it’s big enough that even the doctor comments on how it looks. Looked into having labioplasty when I was younger because it seemed so big and ugly. Kind of accepted it as my body until doctor confirmed it’s actually medically abnormal.

Trying to work towards acceptance again, but more self conscious than ever. It’s nice to know that labioplasty can be covered by insurance when deemed medically necessary.

Update: thank you girls! Feel a lot better now. Won’t be going to her again.

Question How to properly wash after being finished inside of

42 Upvotes

I just got over having bv (likely from hormones/ph being thrown off) and also was told from my doctor that I’m not supposed to be taking the shower head n power washing my vaginal hole only the vulva because it washes away both bad and good bacteria so how am I supposed to properly wash out semen when my bf cums inside of me? Do I just wipe it off and leave the rest to wait for it to come out in the coming days or what?

Hygiene 🧼 Is this normal?

Upvotes

As far as I can remember I’ve had noticeable odor down there...sometimes it’s just a strong/stinky smell, sometimes it smells kind of fishy or sometimes it’s just a strong natural vaginal/pussy smell. I’ve always wondered why because I try to take care of myself;

I drink plenty of water, wear cotton underwear and I don’t use scented soaps or anything like that down there. I normally just wash with water, even after peeing.

I got so frustrated recently with the smell that I decided to try something different. I found a very gentle wash in my cabinet that contains 0% perfume and no alcohol, super sensitive so it can basically be marketed as a feminine wash.

I used it, rubbed down there, rinsed it thoroughly with water and…..the smell was completely gone.

I checked again about 30 minutes later and there was still no odor at all. I was honestly surprised because I’ve never had anything work that quickly, lol 😭

Now I’m wondering...Should I start using this gentle feminine wash regularly if it seems to be the only thing that works for me?

I’ve always heard that you don’t need to use feminine washes because they can disrupt the natural balance and also that the vagina cleans itself...

birth control completely killed my natural lubrication and drive, nothing helps

Upvotes

been on the same pill for a year and while it works for contraception, it has completely drained my natural moisture and interest in sex. lube helps temporarily during the act, but the overall daily dryness makes me feel uncomfortable all day long. saw that uro vaginal moisture & mood is specifically formulated for both the physical dryness and the mental/mood side of it. has anyone dealing with BC side effects tried this?

Recurrent BV/yeast infections for almost a year. Looking for a gynecologist/vulvovaginal specialist in Chicago who actually deals with complicated recurrent cases

8 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for a gynecologist or vulvovaginal specialist in Chicago who has a really good track record with recurrent vaginal infections / chronic vaginitis. I’ve been dealing with this for almost a year now and feel like I keep getting treated for whatever shows up on the most recent test, but the problem keeps coming back.

Here is my history:

  • 9/26/2025 – Urgent care in the U.S.: Diagnosed with acute vulvovaginal candidiasis. STI testing was negative. I was treated with fluconazole 150 mg.
  • 5/1/2026: Testing showed Candida albicans, high Gardnerella vaginalis, Prevotella bivia, indeterminate BV, and Ureaplasma urealyticum detected. I was treated with doxycycline 100 mg, metronidazole 500 mg for 7 days, and fluconazole 150 mg. The doxy cleared ureaplasma and fluconazole cleared yeast.
  • 7/6/2026: Tested positive for BV again, with high/detected Gardnerella vaginalis. I was prescribed clindamycin 2% vaginal treatment for 7 days and flagyl.
  • While in India in August: After an in-person examination, I was prescribed Clindamycin+clotrimazole suppository for 3 days, fluconazole 150 mg for 3 days, and cefuroxime 500 mg for 5 days.
  • Most recently (8/31/2026): I was prescribed fenticonazole 600 mg suppository once weekly for 4 weeks and terbinafine 250mg for 20 days. I’m only a few days into this treatment and have developed new itching again, which is making me worried that I am either still dealing with an infection or that something else is being missed.

Another major issue is that penetrative sex is very painful, even with protection, and because of the pain and recurrent symptoms I essentially have not had sex in almost a year.

At this point, I would like to see someone who is good at treating complicated/recurrent BV and Candida, resistant or nonstandard infections.

Unfortunately, cost is also a major issue for me. I’m an international student and recently changed health insurance. My new plan is not an ACA-compliant plan, and because I had these symptoms/treatment before the policy started, I’m concerned that they may classify this as a pre-existing condition and not cover the treatment.

I’ve also come across companies/websites such as Evvy and NeuEve, but I’m hesitant to spend money on it and at this point, I would much rather see a physician who has substantial experience treating cases like this.

I am so so done with this, it is soo hard to push through the symptoms and show up every single day.

I live in Chicago and would really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you :)

Discovered a new cause of my irritation… toilet paper.

Upvotes

I’ve been having some vulvar itching and feeling itchiness on my clit too. I started noticing that it would always happen after peeing. I started thinking what am I doing that’s causing it. This last time that I peed, I didn’t use toilet paper and didn’t feel that immediate itch I would feel. I bought a peri bottle off Amazon. My question is, how do I dry my vulva at work? Do I just bring small clothes with me?

Advice Needed can’t finish by my partner touching me

5 Upvotes

hi sorry for the awkward title. It is a bit misleading. basically I got sexually assaulted 5 years ago prior to meeting my partner, and after that have never been able to finish at all whilst someone else is touching me. It’s like my mind is like ‘someone else is touching me and I physically can’t settle’ if that makes sense. I’ve been with my partner 4 years and we have figured out that I can finish when I use my wand during sex which was quite a relief as I thought it would never happen at all after the assault to begin with. that was really nice to discover. Anyway, my question is, has anyone experienced this before? I feel so left out when my friends talk about their sexual lives and how they finish so easily. And I wish I could finish without using any toys and purely just by my partner :( I feel robbed of my pleasure in a sense because of what happened to me and I am just looking for advice if anyone has overcome anything like this? sorry if this is too tmi, I just needed to ask as none of my friends can relate at all.
Thankyou :)

I always have to take a break after sex??

9 Upvotes

Recently whenever I have sex I always end up in pain afterwards? I get tiny rips near the bottom of my hole and this hasn’t happened before. I would take a day or two break but today when I tried I had to stop because it hurt so bad I know if I take like a week break i’ll be fine but how can I prevent this??? I used to be able to take anything but now I find it hard for my vagina to stretch out comfortably, makes me wonder how women can do it multiple times during the day or two days consecutively

Is this normal? 👀 Slammed my coochie into a wall and now I’m spiraling with anxiety…

3 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I’m here because I am looking for some reassurance or just someone to tell me that they have had something similar, I’ve looked online and I couldn’t find anything similar to what I am going through. About 2 months ago in July I was at work and I had to jump over a wall, when I attempted to jump over the wall I ended up slamming the front of my body (mostly pubic area) against the wall. No big deal I thought. I had a pretty bad bruise for a week then It faded away. But here is where I’m starting to worry, about two days after the bruise was completely faded I pressed on the area and felt a hard small pea sized lump. I looked it up and most people are saying it’s a hematoma but do hematoma lumps last that long? Most people say the lumps fade within a couple weeks and mine has been there for 2 months. Any advice is helpful. Thank you!

Is this normal? 👀 Feeling a lot of pain after swab for possible yeast infection

Upvotes

Hi everyone, posting here because I’m at wits end. I’ve been experiencing slight discomfort after peeing for a few days, but no frequent urges or pressure or typical UTI like pain. I still went to my urologist to get tested for a UTI. She felt based on symptoms it was more likely yeast or BV and did a urine culture as well as a vaginal swab.

The vaginal swab was super painful and I bled during. After the swab I’m in much more pain than I was prior while peeing and also now have the frequent urge to urinate and am still bleeding slightly. After telling my doctor, she prescribed flucanazole as she thinks it’s likely yeast since I was so uncomfortable after the swab, I’ve taken the first dose and advil but Im feeling extremely miserable. Everything feels swollen and irritated and it’s SO painful when I pee, so I am having a hard time telling if it’s urethral pain or if it’s really just vaginal pain from the pee coming in contact with where I’m sore and tender. Has anyone else experienced this?? Is it going to get better anytime soon 😭😭

Menstruation 🔴 Vaginal infections after menstruation

I really don't understand why I have to feel pain in my vagina after my period? Despite taking the prescribed medication several times and being extra careful about hygiene, even washing my underwear in boiling water.

I feel extremely sick about this.

I keep getting UTIs after using dildos

Upvotes

When I got my first UTI, I assumed it was because I used my dildo without lube and had too much friction but once I got my second UTI after using it, I found out it was due to the material not being body safe. I threw it out and bought a new one that was 100% silicone. I was still afraid that I would get another UTI so I held off on it for about a month until a few days ago when I got the courage to use it.

Fast forward to now, I found out that I have another UTI. I washed the dildo before and after use, peed right after, I’m not sure what’s causing this if I switched the type of material I’m using 😭😭😭 And I only get UTIs whenever I use a dildo because I’ve fingered myself many times in the past (even after getting the first and second UTI) and it never gave me a UTI.

Gush of Water-Like Fluid?

Upvotes

I just had a gush of water-like fluid from my vagina - it happened all at once and was so much that I needed to change my underwear and pants. I'm not ovulating (on the contraceptive pill), haven't had any recent hormone changes (changed contraceptive pill a month ago, haven't taken sugar pills), and I wasn't aroused. From the position of the fluid on my underwear, the sensation, and the smell it absolutely isn't pee. What is this? It also happened one time about a decade ago.

Sexual Health Are my STI tests conclusive after 70 days, especially for hepatitis C and syphilis?

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice or reassurance based on your experience. I was in a sexual relationship with a girlfriend for about five months, We had multiple sexual encounters during that time(unprotected), and since our last sexual encounter There have been no sexual exposures to other girls since then.

After we broke up, I waited about 70 days and had a full STI panel.

the results were negative, including:

* HIV Ag/Ab (4th generation): negative
* Hepatitis C antibody: negative
* Hepatitis B: negative
* Syphilis: VDRL negative + TPHA negative
* Chlamydia PCR: negative
* Gonorrhea PCR: negative
* Trichomonas PCR: negative

I also had no symptoms that would make me suspect syphilis or hepatitis C.

The HIV result seems very clear to me, but I’ve recently started reading about the window periods for hepatitis C and syphilis, and now I’m wondering whether testing at around 70 days can be considered conclusive for those infections as well.

I’m about to enter a new relationship, and I really want to know whether I can consider myself negative/“clean” from that previous relationship, or whether I should test again.

One more thing: STI testing is extremely difficult for me psychologically. I have a lot of anxiety around STIs, and every time I go for testing it takes a huge amount of courage.

When I did the last tests, I genuinely believed that I had waited long enough and that the results would finally allow me to move on.

Now that I’m about to start a new relationship, the anxiety has come back and I’m questioning everything again.

I’m not looking for someone to diagnose me. I’d mainly appreciate hearing from people who have been through something similar, or anyone knowledgeable about STI testing who can explain whether negative HCV antibody and syphilis (VDRL + TPHA) tests at ~70 days after the last exposure are considered conclusive

Thanks.

Advice Needed I've never had sex, but I want to buy a toy

Upvotes

I'm 24F, and I want to buy a penetrative sex toy and do not know where to start.

All of my girlfriends have boyfriends, and I know they would laugh if I told them I want a penetrative sex toy. I don't understand why they act as if, just because they have a boyfriend, they are the only ones who can talk about pleasure. I made a comment before about wanting to buy a vibrator, and they said, "Ew, don't say that," while I constantly hear their sex stories.

I know some people might think it is strange that at this age I haven't been with someone before. I've always been kind of closed off, and I want to be completely comfortable with someone before they see me naked and want to explore with them.

THAT doesn't mean I don't want to experience orgasms lol. I am familiar with masturbation. I've masturbated before from clitoral stimulation, and this year I bought a vibrator for external use, but I don't use it much because I didn't love it. (I had the rose toy and I loved it, but the toy I didn't like doesn't suction; it only vibrates.)

So, I mostly just use my hands when I masturbate. I sometimes use my fingers to penetrate myself (idk if this is the right way to describe it), but sometimes it is not comfortable because my fingers can't reach the spot.

If you have any toys that you recommend for a beginner or any advice, I would love to read it, and I would appreciate it a lot :)

I plan to go to a store tomorrow and buy whatever toy someone here recommends.

Advice Needed Vibrator Desensitization and Shame

Upvotes

Hey there, I’ve been having some things come up for me lately and can’t find anyone in my personal life I can relate to so I figured maybe I can try to come here and see if anyone has advice or can understand what I’m going through.

I’m 29f and I can’t cum without a vibrator. I feel like this isn’t entirely uncommon, but I have shame about it. I’ve been using the wand for years. I used to get off pretty easily when I was a teenager and my first bf was able to get me off pretty easily without a vibrator, but it just got more difficult over the years and got to the point where I couldn’t get myself off anymore without going super fast with my hands to the point it was uncomfortable. Never got off with a partner without a vibrator since I was probably 17. So I got a vibrator around 5 years ago and I would use it with my ex, but it was still kind of hard to get off.

Overall the vibe helped so much but I’m dating new people now and I just feel embarrassed that I can’t get off unless I use a vibrator now and it takes a long time, sometimes like 45 minutes. I’m just sad. What happened to me? I feel like I have to psychologically retrain my body to cum with less stimulation (aka without the vibes) but I kind of get disinterested while trying because it takes so long and doesn’t really feel that good. It’s not bad, it’s just not amazing idk. I haven’t even been masturbating often; maybe once in the past month and I still have issues with sensitivity.

Anyway, can anyone relate? Also, does anyone had advice how I go about fixing this?

ETA I am using my throwaway account because I just feel shame around this. I’ve been really trying to work on being more open about stuff. This is just a sensitive (pun not intended) subject for me that carries some trauma and shame. Thanks for understanding!

Is this normal? 👀 Worried about my anatomy

2 Upvotes

Hey babes, I know it's very common for women to worry if their vulvular anatomy is "normal", but I'm genuinely confused. I'm a 23 year old adult and I have not had many partners, but I know a lot about sexual health.

I understand that all anatomy is different, but I think I'm straight up missing the main parts of my clitoris and clitoral hood. I have my vaginal opening. Above that is my urethra. But then, nothing. Just smooth sailing until you get to the top of my lips/mons pubis area (the fat patch above the pubic bone). I suspect that either there's nothing external at all or my clitoral hood is just so close to my urethra that I can't tell a difference (looking at it or touching it).

My partners have said that it's hard to navigate down there, but I thought they were just being dramatic. I mean it is difficult for me to orgasm, but I manage by myself just fine. I've been to the gynecologist many times and not one of my doctors have said anything.

I drew a diagram of what my anatomy looks like when I open my outer lips (labia majora) fully. But I don't think this sub will let me add a picture just yet. What do you guys think? Genuinely just asking for thoughts. Idk why I'm embarrassed, but at my next gyno appointment I'll ask her too.

Edit: I also have a history of UTIs even though I take all the precautions. I wonder if my anatomy being so close together has something to do with it? Like normal sexual touch could be introducing bacteria into my urinary track because the two areas are so close together. Just a thought

Question Can you get Ureaplasma from kissing?

0 Upvotes

Hi all, I have awful health anxiety and need answers. I contracted ureaplasma back in 2019 and had 7 years of hell before finding out what it was this year. I got it treated with a round of Doxy in May. It seemed to help except I will feel a slight itch after my period that eventually subsides.

Last week the person I believe I contracted it from made a move of just slight kissing on me. That was all that had happened because I was paranoid of getting it again. My period ended on Sunday and I’m still feeling a here and there itch. I’m not sure if I’m freaking myself out so bad or what. Not sure if I should get retested. Google says you can’t but I’m still freaking out?

Advice Needed I think I got poop in my vaginal entrance

6 Upvotes

For starters, i’m six weeks postpartum today. I’ve struggled with wiping after bowel movements since right after giving birth. I’ve used baby wipes this whole time to wipe back there.

This is embarrassing to admit, but when I use baby wipes sometimes instead of just constantly folding the wipe and re-wiping I kind of just wipe the same area multiple times using the same area of the baby wipe.

As I was wiping, I got the majority of the stool off, but continue to wipe to get any left over stool that I may have missed. I wrapped the wipe around my finger, and went towards the top of my anus to wipe. It’s hard to tell now where exactly to White, because I got a second-degree tear during birth, and lots of hemorrhoids.

I was trying to wipe the top of my anus closest to my perennial area, I swiped a few times with kind of firm pressure, went up a little more and instantly freaked out. I felt my finger push near/on my vaginal entrance. The wipe did have some a little stool on it, and now I’m freaking out that I got stool in my vagina.

I have my six week check up, literally in a couple of hours, but I’m kind of embarrassed to mention it to the doctor. Will be okay? Has anyone else done this? I feel like nobody else has done this and I feel really stupid.
