Meross MSG 150 “Failure to Close” Error

The device is installed, added to Meross app, firmware updated, etc. All good there.

I get an error stating the “Garage Door Failed to Close” and it suggest I change the Closing Time. I have tried every time available plus the custom options. Nothing fixes it. I can’t seem to get the dam error to go away or it to show the correct state.

I appreciate your help!

Return it. Get RATGDO. Those things never stay working.

Do you have the accessory connected to it? Mine failed and when replaced worked fine again.

I don’t have any accessories attached. Mine didn’t come with any.

There was no door sensor in the box?

How does it know if it’s open or closed?

Edit: I guess this doesn’t come with one. Weird. I have the msg200 so mine had everything.

You don’t need one with the new version you have.

I suspect your issue may stem from having the incorrect signal protocol selected. Try resetting and starting from scratch.

I have an MSG200 and when I first set it up, I think I had similar issues. I think one of the ports on it was failing to receive the feedback that the door was in fact, closing.

They told me I could return it for a new one, but I didn’t have the energy for it and I only have 2 garage doors anyways.

I would see if your sensor is even reading the door closed. You could probably trigger it with a refrigerator magnet, and if that is successful, maybe your sensor needs to be realigned.

If unsuccessful, you sensor or port on the device could be bad

I had the same issue, they sent me the door sensor kit for free, still was inconsistent (but significantly better). Decided to scrap the whole thing and got a RATGDO Disco and it works flawlessly.

I wanted the range laser and sound notification. It’s absolutely not a necessity though.

I had issues for a long time with mine. Turns out the issue was my garage door button Inside the garage had batteries and that was interfering. I changed it to a dumb button and it worked.
