What cables should i switch to?

I just bought my first house, and the previous owner put down some cat cables for better internet connection. they are pretty old and bend. So i would like to ask what cable i should buy.

The red dot is where the main port is. and the yellow line is where the old owner pulled the cables through the celling and into the loft. then it comes down at the "381" wall and runs along the floor and through the wall into the next room.

any suggestions about what cable and maybe the best way to set it all up properly would be appreciated.

They're supposed to bend, generally. If they're CAT5, they're good for at least 1 gigabit unless tested to the contrary.

What's your goal?

My recommendation would be to put the ISP router where the connection comes in, and get a second wireless access point or mesh wifi node you can plug in to the cat cable. Preferably a wall or ceiling mountable one.

If you need a new cable, run CAT6 solid core if it's below 50m (it probably is) and you'll be good for 10 gigabit. Higher grades than that are increasingly likely to be fake. Ideally into sockets, and then use short store-bought patch cables to connect from the sockets to devices at either end.

they are bend in ways that don't look good for the cable, i know they are soft and meant to bend but tie almost a knot on one of them its the best i think 😂 i was also thinking about making a socket outlet where the cable comes out of the wall.

is there a mesh network you would recommend?

Personally I use Unifi access points but those need a controller ideally. I'm not sure what's better for a beginner - perhaps see if the router your ISP supplies has a compatible solution that can be wired? (Try not to use wireless meshing if possible)
