Some pics of my new-to-me transalp from it's first camping trips

Picked up this transalp a couple weeks ago from a buddy. Took my license test on it 18 years ago and he finally let me buy it.

Did a trip to see Billy Strings at bethel woods in NY, a trip to unadilla motocross in NY, and a trip out to weiser state forest in Pennsylvania this past weekend with some buddies on Harleys. Don't ride with Harleys often but these guys can keep a serious pace.

Bikes been flawless. Needs a taller seat, side racks, and some suspension work. Will have to get around to that over the winter.

Xl75 is riding again

Dinked around on the $100 xl75 yesterday for a few hours yesterday. No spark which is no surprise. Filed the points and got that going. I had a new spark plug so I tossed that in for good measure. Pulled the carb just to check and glad I did. The main was plugged hard with ethanol crap as was the emulsion tube. After some screwing around I finally found fuel want getting into the bowl. After messing with that a little and using a drill to turn it over a bit to get some heat then it popped off and ran great!

I did what any stupid person would do and immediately put the seat and chain cover on then immediately took off riding around town. All gravel streets here. It’s a lot more squirrelly than I remember them being.

Got my hot pressure washer out ($50 marketplace find) and gave it a good bath. I ended up riding it a couple miles yesterday. Fires up after one kick, today after 2 from sitting 24 hours. I also threw an Amazon petcock on today as well.

It did develop a large oil leak. The old owner did say it leaks out the crank seal so I’m not surprised.

Engine oil choice

Hi everyone, I ride a crf1000l (2016) & have previously filled up my bike with motul 5100 (10w30 as advised by Honda)

Now I am contemplating switching to 7100 (still 10w30) as its supposed to be a bit higher quality (?) And possibly a bit easier on my clutch plates according to AI.

Due to me not fully trusting AI answers I am wondering if any of you had any experience using the 7100-version and/if anyone noticed any difference on the bike, either while running or looking at parts when disassembled.

Any input is greatly appreciated :)

Greetings from the Netherlands

1989 Honda CG125

Hi all,

I have bought a honda CG with the aim of restoring it and running it while I am completing my license in the UK. However I have been unable to get it to produce a spark

I have replaced the ignition coil, plug cover, points and cleaned the alternator and am still not producing a spark. I have noticed that the ignition coil is producing static when kicking the starter however, which was not happening before replacing the points. Any advice would be great!

Recently, it was cut off by a nonce merging onto a high street without seeing me . Ruined my blue splash fairing kit after the bike flipped on me. I ordered these nuda grey fairings, but im unsure about the wheels. What do you guys suggest ? Gloss black with red decals maybe ?

Handguards for winter touring

How much could be difference between these two handguards regarding windchill in the cold months? The first one looks like so much sleeker in my opinion (SW-Motech), but the second seems more practical (Puig). Bike is a CB500 Hornet with an added touring windscreen.

Edit: I have factory installed heated grips, a quite ok pair of winter glove, and cheap ugly hippo hands for the most extreme weather.

Looking ahead, the new CB400 series will be introduced globally alongside a CBR model powered by the same engine. It will serve different roles in different markets: as a premium model in China and Southeast Asia, and as an entry-level inline four-cylinder model in Europe.

2021 Honda Forza 125 – only 900 km, garage kept since new. What would you pay?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking for some opinions on the value of my dad’s Honda Forza 125.
It’s a 2021 Honda Forza 125, bought brand new in the Czech Republic in May 2021. He has been the only owner and the scooter has been garage kept since new. It has only done around 900 km / 560 miles.
The condition is honestly exceptionally good for a 5-year-old scooter. It has barely been used, has never been crashed or dropped, and has spent practically its entire life sitting safely in a garage rather than outside in the weather.
It has the original Honda Smart Top Box, ABS, etc. We also still have the original purchase documentation and invoice showing that it was bought new for 142,900 CZK.
We also have the original scooter cover, so that can be included as well.
I know it’s still a 2021 model and not a new scooter, but the 900 km mileage and overall condition seem pretty unusual for a scooter of this age.
Looking at Czech classifieds, similar 2021 Forza 125s seem to be around 90–100k CZK, but most of them have 10,000–20,000+ km.
What do you guys think would be a fair price for this one? Would around 120–125k CZK (~€4,800–5,000) be realistic, or is that too much considering it’s a 2021 model?
I’m genuinely just trying to figure out what the market value is before putting it up for sale.
Thanks for any opinions!

Picked up an xl75 today

I learned to ride motorcycle on 77 xl75 30 ish years ago and have wanted one my entire adult life, because I’m dumb.

Mowing today and it started raining so I went inside and of course opened marketplace. Here sits an xl75 for $100. Messaged the guy and said I can leave right now. Apologized to my wife, jumped in the 71 and headed 60 ish miles to pick it up.

Picked it up and supposedly was running 5 years ago so we all know that’s 10-15. Loaded it up and then the guy handed me the title. $100 with title. Title is from 1980. It’s been in the family a long time.

It’s not as nice as the pictures make it look. The exhaust has a washer and iron pipe welded to the output. The frame has been cut and re-welded but both repairs are nice. It’s missing the blinkers, Speedo/odometer, key switch, indicator cover, side covers and headlight lense. Tires are nearly new and in good shape holding air. Top of tank has the normal number of dents in it.

I dug up an old picture of the one I used to ride. One friend sold it to another friend. The picture here has the twins that bought it. 30 years later I’m still best friends with these guys and the buddy that originally sold it called me and asked me to sell it to him. I had sent him a picture of it in my truck but with no text. Apparently he’s been looking for a long time too.

I did check it and I have no spark so I need to get it on the lift and service the points. Hoping to ride it this weekend yet. And what better way to pickup an orange Honda than in an old orange truck that was saved from a tree row.

Clutch isn’t working

I have a 2000 Honda XR80 dirt bike and the clutch is really loose, so I tightened the clutch cable bracket and the clutch adjuster thing on the handlebars, and it still didn’t work and was still loose, it lifts up the clutch actuator arm, but I have to push the lever back to put it back down, but it doesn’t engage the clutch, so when it’s in gear and I hold the clutch, it doesn’t let the bike move like it’s in neutral, and the wheel locks up, so I went to adjust the clutch adjusting screw that’s on the cover, and I screwed it in too far, so I had to take the cover off. When I finally put the cover back on, I went to change it again, and it did the same thing. Probably my fault, but I don’t feel like taking the cover off again until I fully know what the problem is and how to fix it, so if you know what this could be, that would be greatly appreciated.

New Bike / New Biker advice pls

So I'm buying my first bike this weekend a 2026 Honda CBR650R with the e-clutch (I wanted an easy rider so the e-clutch is going to help and I love it). It’s a bike I can learn on and still enjoy years down the road.

I'm in need of help if buying gear for myself. I've done a ton of research and have come up with these options for myself gear.

Let me know what yall think or what you would upgrade. I'm buying from Fortnine, and MotoHut. Those are the stores that have these options in stock.

I'm in the PNW if that helps with choices. Also I will be mainly driving in the Late Spring - Early Fall.

My gear:
Helmet: Shoei RF-1400 Matte Black (I’ve tried it on and I love it)
Jacket: Tourmaster Intake Air Jacket
Gloves: Five RFX3 Evo
Pants: Bull-it Guardian Straight Jeans
Shoes: Alpinestars SMX-6
Bike: 2026 Honda CBR650r e-Clutch Grand Prix Red
