I agree. I like listening to various folk music from different cultures and this is a good one

I didn't know anyone hated this song outside of the kind of antisemitism that rears is ugly head whenever Jews express any positive emotion.

I don't like it, mostly because I find loud clarinets to be incredibly annoying. It is also why I can't stand Breakfast in America by Supertramp.

Hahaha at least you're consistent

People dislike a Jewish song: "this is antisemitism"

More like:

Sees Jews celebrating a happy occasion with this traditional song playing

"HOW DARE. I HATE THIS SONG!"

That's usually how it goes, and yes, it is antisemitism.

Unless you just hate clarinets like the other person, but they hate Supertramp too so they're consistent.

Yes in this totally made up scenario in your head, yeah that's antisemitism. I also don't think "that's how it usually goes." I just think the tune of the song is annoying the same as any other song I don't prefer.

Do you have any idea of the bullshit Jews face? There are people out there this ridiculous.

Yeah? I'm not saying antisemitism doesn't exist. I'm saying not liking a song isn't antisemitism.

There's literally someone further down being antisemetic about the song.

Yes I suppose an antisemitic person will almost always not care for the song

Not liking Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus doesn't make me prejudiced against white people the same way not liking Hava Nagila doesn't make me prejudiced against Jews.

It's insane that I have to justify this and I fully regret getting into it.

It’s funny because I’m Jewish and a lot of Jewish people only really know the song as part of bar/bat mitzvah or weddings. It’s not often listened to besides that. If your shul (synagogue) has multiple bar/bat mitzvah weekends in a row you get tired of it very quickly lol. Otherwise yes it’s an ear worm.

It's called Nagila genocide.

Try not to mention Israel when something Jewish gets brought up challenge: impossible

Are we not supposed to call out human rights violations when they are being committed daily in real time? Oy vey

1

u/slicehyperfunk 8h ago

What does Hava Nagila have to do with human rights violations?

-2

u/theBLACKcod44 8h ago

Until every Jewish person renounced Zionism and the terrorist regime in Israel it has EVERYTHING to do with it.

u/slicehyperfunk 8h ago

Plenty of Jewish people oppose the actions of the Israeli government, but you also didn't fucking answer the question of what Hava Nagila has to do with human rights violations, other than "IT'S SOMETHING UNRELATEDLY JEWISH, BETTER BRING UP ISRAEL!"

2

u/theBLACKcod44 8h ago

I don't hear them all denouncing it in unison, not so sure what there is to rejoice as the song states when the curators of the tune are committing genocide. You're not gonna win this one bud.

It's wild to give the pro-genocide shitbags the legitimate "antisemitism" ammo they're always whining about, over "Hava Nagila" no less, but you do you I guess.

LOL antisemitism isn't a real thing.
