Im thinking of going for two months to Hua hin area in October and a November.
The plan would be to rent a private villa with private pool.
Was checking Airbnb and got super confused.
For one specific house weekly rent was 600 euros, but the same house for a month is 800 Euros.
Also there were some houses which theoretically cost 5000 Euros but they for a month asking 1500 euro.
How does that make sense?
Started digging into and found out that there's many scams around, and additional charges for electricity, water, security deposits etc.
Now I'm confused and don't want to get scammed, what would be the best way to avoid all that?

Also there's not many villas available, at least through Airbnb, maybe there are some other, better sites?

After doing my own research, I found a very large number of reviews — all seemingly perfect — but very few examples of real cases actually solved for clients.

That raised a question.

So I looked deeper and noticed something even more concerning: photos that appear to have been altered or generated using AI, as well as reviews apparently posted by people who actually work inside the agency.

So I have to ask:

How can I trust an agency with my visa or immigration case when I cannot clearly distinguish genuine client experiences from promotional content or internal reviews?

Perfect reviews are easy to display.

With the bypass being completed, and international travel from the airport being completed later this year, along with upgrades to the rail system. Do you think Hua Hin will get busier?

From what I’ve seen the confirmed international destinations are HK, Singapore, India, and Malaysia.

Hi all. Been in a sea-facing condo just south of Khao Takiab beach for about 3 years now. Two bed on the second floor of a 4-storey walk-up, balcony faces the water. Really nice most of the time.

Had the yearly aircon service last week and the guy and I ended up talking for a while about the outdoor unit. Ive been vaguely aware that salt air is not great for these things but honestly havent been paying much attention in between services. Guy pointed out the fins are showing some discoloration and a few tiny pinhole spots where the metal is being eaten into. The unit itself is only about 3 years old, its a Midea inverter I picked when I moved in because the salesguy was really pushing the fin coating meant for coastal areas. Three years in shes clearly seen better days, though I do wonder if it would have been way worse without whatever that coating actually does. Not a disaster, cooling is still fine, but he said if you dont do anything about it eventually youll get a slow refrigerant leak that ends up killing the unit years before it should.

He walked me through two things I had never heard of. First was these protective coating sprays that go on the fins to slow down the salt corrosion, apparently you can just buy them off Lazada or from any decent aircon shop. Second, and this is the one that surprised me, was that you should be rinsing the outdoor unit with fresh water every 2 to 3 weeks, just a garden hose is fine. He said between yearly services thats the single biggest thing that separates a coastal outdoor unit that lasts 8 to 10 years from one that dies at 4 or 5.

Ive been doing zero of this for 3 years. Just letting the annual service happen and thats it. Feeling a bit stupid honestly.

So asking the long-time coast residents here, especially anyone facing the water at Khao Takiab, Nong Kae, or up towards Cha-Am. Is the coating spray actually worth it or is it a maintenance-guy upsell, and how often are you actually rinsing your outdoor unit between services. Would love to hear routines from anyone whos gotten 8 plus years out of a coastal unit.

I have no grievance or cause, just wondering what the experience was like for people who have stayed short term.

Just a random thought. Hua Hins layout would be perfect for just one tram line running South to North along the N. 4 round. This would pretty much cover all the main points like Airport, train station, the malls and markets and the beach.

Hope we get something like this one day.

I am aware that it's the rainy season - Google tells me tail end - but just wanted to confirm if it's a good time to visit? We are not going to do any major outdoor activities anyway due to our kid but don't want it to be a washed-out holiday either since we all love the beach.

Also how's the travel from Bangkok here?

My wife and I are planning to move to Hua Hin in early 2027 and I'm looking for a legitimate realtor there so I don't get scammed, renting a place and showing up to find that it was a scam.

Can anyone point me to a reputable realtor in the area? Also, would I be better off coordinating with an attorney there instead of a real estate agent or realtor? I have read that there is no real estate license, so I'm a bit leery of engaging with someone who may not have the experience required to help me make this happen with the least amount of friction.

My husband and I will be staying in Hua Hin for 40 days with our two small children (10 months and 2 years of age). We Are wondering if there Are any reliable baby sitter services we can Get in touch with? Hi all. Quick background. My parents are coming over to Thailand for a month to ‘trial’ their retirement in Hua Hin. I’ve lived in Bangkok for 4 years personally and I’ve only visited Hua Hin for a weekend two or three times.

They’ll be renting for a month and living like how they would long term rather than holiday, if that makes sense.

Where are the best areas to live? Any places to avoid? Would be great hearing from you. They are after a villa with a pool. I understand they’ll be paying more as it’s only a month rental and they’re okay with that.

I am looking to go to Hua Hin for a couple of months, and looking for a short term rental, up to 2 months or so.

Saw online I could find a small condo outside of the center for 10-12k baht a month.

My budget would ideally be 7-10k month.

Could anyone recommend a place / platform where I could find these short term rentals?

Pushing other people/blocking paths/cutting the queue/yelling/shouting in 7/11, being rude and disrespectful to the locals at restaurants - all the same stuff that they're known for in Pai and Koh Phangan, now they're bringing their 'culture' here too 😭

Hi all. So I'm not exactly sure where to start with this, making general public posts like this is pretty new for me.

I am a young entrepreneur (don't be fooled though, I am just now launching projects) planning to make a move to Thailand and have been wanting to for the past couple of years. I am a more introverted, calm personality, not really used to natural disasters. For these 3 things alone Hua Hin really is gold for me. The coastal vibe, but with the safer geographical location, with on top of that an overall calmer city/town vibe. It really is perfect. Hua Hin checks pretty much all boxes for me.

It's August 1st. I want to move by November (but willing to even push it to December at this point) which isn't too much time. On top of that I'm really starting from 0. Quick context about me, I worked on a desktop app for 8 months, got super burnt out, and now am working on a couple of things that were actually closer to heart and have been ideas for years. I've got a game that should be done in the next week or two, and a dormant but ready to launch fashion project I just need to verify samples of. The plan is to kick these off and consistently work the next few months to turn these into engines of income to eventually help me live abroad.

I really really tried to come around on Bangkok, but ultimately for the full escape and mental reset I desire, having the thought of an earthquake at the very back of my mind (maybe not even always, but still even just once in awhile) kind of nullifies that a bit. However I've come to conclude that if I'm in the position I intend to be in anyways by the time I move, Bangkok won't be an everyday necessity for me. I would just work on what I need to work on, and occasionally take a train into the city. Which honestly is more perfect for my case since like I said, I have more of a Hua Hin vibe anyway. I love big cities, but from a distance.

So... I suppose I don't really know what my ultimate point is here. But if you've got this far and this speaks to you in any way, I would definitely love any pointers you have, or even more than that to connect. I think building up connections with any of you who are already there, especially anyone like-minded, would be priceless. For the first time in life I feel like I have real ground to make this vision a reality, so a part of that (which I'm trying to do now) is putting myself out there, getting around to the right environments, and connecting with the right people (which is all new to me. it's easy to build solo when you have more predictable loops. this is different though). Especially if I want this to happen in my intended timeline.

We recently purchased a plot of land in Hua Hin and want to build a house on it. Are they any house builders anyone would recommend, and any you would recommend staying away from? From what I heard from my realtor when buying the land, an average house in Hua Hin was approximately 20k baht per square meter, does that sound about right?

Looking for vegetarian recommendations in Hua Hin. I prefer typical Thai dishes, but in regular restaurants vegetables often have oyster or fish sauce. So, any vegetarian cuisine recommendations are appreciated!
