Huntsville Phaze 3 Purchased by $37B Private Equity Company

They announced it to members this afternoon, but hid the fact that it was bought by Private Equity - 26North Partners LP. Instead they said, "Beginning September 1st, the Phaze 3 Fitness locations in Jones Valley and Madison will become part of the Onelife Fitness family."

How nice, we get to be a part of a family. I looked up Onelife Fitness family and they are owned by 26North Partners LP.

It is what it is. I haven't seen a company purchased by Private Equity ever improve in quality - they tend to just cut costs and squeeze more from customers. I hope that's not the case here but I'm not holding out too much hope.

Hey everyone! I have 3 male kittens, 3 months old, that need to go to good homes. They've been inside cats thus far and have not been neutered. DM me if you're interested or want to see more pictures- I'm good with meeting up wherever or even bringing them to you if that works better 💜

Our cat, Yam, got out early this morning. We’ve been searching up and down the road but no luck. On next door a guy spotted an orange cat around Bermuda Lake Drive so if you are in that area please be on the lookout for this lovey boy 💔

Events Figure Drawing at Lowe Mill

Upvotes

Hi folks! I wanted to post this event for local artists and models. We host a figure drawing event a couple of times per month and would love to have more artists and models sign up. We are not profiting off of the event. All proceeds go to model and studio fees. If you are so inclined, please check us out.

Traffic is Giving Me Feels Pedestrian killed in crash on Memorial Parkway

I feel like there needs to be something put in place, such as barriers or fences, to prevent people from crossing this portion of the parkway. A pedestrian bridge would help in the long-term. I have witnessed several instances where people try to cross in this area.

Did we fly too close to the sun?

As someone who closely follows new openings and developments in Huntsville—and shares them because I genuinely enjoy seeing our community grow—I feel like I need to speak up about something.

Huntsville’s housing prices have become absolutely absurd.

When did we become a city where a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom townhome downtown costs $1.2–$1.4 million?

Or where a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment at the new Front Row can cost upwards of $3,800 a month, depending on the floor?

I understand that Huntsville is growing. I understand that new developments come with higher construction costs, amenities and premium locations.

But at some point, we have to ask:

Who is Huntsville being built for?

Am I the only one who looks at these prices and thinks, this is getting outrageous?

Question Does anyone have any concert recordings of the old Metro Youth Orchestra?

I know it’s a bit of a long shot, but I’m specifically looking for their first appearance at Carnegie Hall back in 1992. Hansons 2nd Symphony was the program.

Events Artemis II crew at Toyota Field: An 'A' in concept, an 'F' in execution

It was an honor to have the Artemis II crew come here, and it was great the community were offered a chance to go to something like this. It is once in a generation. These astronauts are American heroes and worthy of all the accolades and applause they get.

But the event itself left a lot to be desired, and I think the blame is on the organizers. For one thing, the acoustics were bad. I could hear them talking without issue, but the acoustics were often not clear enough to make out what they were saying on a consistent basis, so we missed a lot of what said.... which was a large part in going. I would have loved to been able to hear them more clearly. My wife said the same thing.

My wife and I hurried down after work to get a good seat, since this was general admission and a large crowd was expected. We knew concessions were "limited," but based on the announcement, still assumed that basic things like burgers and chicken tenders would be available at Dumpster Dive and Gravity Grill, which were both open. We planned to get there early and have dinner in our seats before the event started at 6:30, like we do before the baseball games there.

We were not expecting essentially nothing beyond hot dogs and popcorn to be available - and since we don't like hot dogs, we were left sitting there hungry more than hour before it started and we couldn't just leave, head to a quick place in Town Madison and then come back.

This should have been a world class event and we were left with a Little League concession stand. I thought "limited" meant none of the dessert, snow cone trucks, speciality kind of concessions - not very basic fare like burgers and chicken tenders.

I also thought the presentation - four chairs on a raised platform on the infield - seemed very underproduced. Compare that to what the Artemis event looked like at Red Rocks and the difference is striking. The video board beyond the outfield felt too distant for this set up. At Red Rocks, there was a huge display directly behind the crew. The Artemis II event there was also free.

Between the bad acoustics, a no-budget set up, and poorly planned food options, this wasn't nearly what it could have been. Maybe somewhere like the Orion should have hosted this instead. There were no events there today.

As someone who goes to several Trash Pandas games a year and has a great time doing it, I don't know why this event was executed so poorly.

Can I get my license renewed in Huntsville Alabama if I have a FTA for a misdemeanor warrant?

Upvotes

Okay firstly; this has NOTHING to do with a traffic ticket at all.

So, back in 2023 I was homeless on the streets with an abusive ass ex bf at the time, without a vehicle, and we were sleeping on a public lot. Cops pulled up, and gave us both a ticket for “sleeping in a public place in the city” and gave us a mandatory court date to show up to. Well, I would’ve most definitely went to it, but he threatened to “beat the fuck out of me” if I were to show up because he had warrants. (I don’t know exactly why he got so angry at me about it but he was an alcoholic & he got mad at the most littlest things lmao). But anyway, I didn’t end up going to that court date and ever since then- I’ve had a failure to appear to court warrant out for my arrest. I came back home and broke things off with him a little bit after that happened, and have been doing so well in my life ever since. I’m engaged to my beautiful girlfriend & a roof over our head. (Lol yeah I’m gay and I was heartbroken when I went to the streets w dude.) but anyways back to topic:
It’s a $389 cash bond & so much has been going on since then, that I haven’t really had the money nor the time to turn myself in. My license expired in July of this year, because of the expiration- I can’t go to my doctors appointments (???), get a job, or even go to the bar w my fiance & her friends to have fun, so I’ve been running in place.
The only thing holding me back from getting my license renewed is; I’m not sure if the Huntsville dmv will put me in custody and arrest me for that warrant.

Please let me know! I’m tired of being sick and tired.
Thank you.

Huntsville Is this your dog? (HSV near Bob Wallace & Triana)

Thumbnail

UPDATE: Owner found. We had him out front with a big sign that says "Is this your dog?" And his mom showed up. Very effective method. Glad he's going home.

This dog showed up in our yard and was talking to our dogs through the fence. ~80-100lb-ish, black lab mix. Male, not neutered. Very friendly, clearly someone's pet.

Anyone know him?

We can't keep him (two dogs and a cat already), and I know the city shelter is full.

I'm also planning to post on fb.

ETA: He is currently out in the front yard on a long tie out. He has shade and water, but it's hot. If anyone can take him in (until/if his family is found), please let me know.

Question Home Watch Service Recommendations

I'm closing on a property that I won't be able to occupy for 2 months. Are there any licensed home watch services that can visit the house and collect mail in the Huntsville area? My searches keep showing elder care companies.
