My 6months to 1-year old cabbage root stock. I think ive harvested at least 1/2 dozen heads off this root mass. Ive lost tract of when i planted it. Also the container really has never been changed, just added 10gallons a month ago or so when i added the basil.

It amazes me how long they will keep growing. Something i found out only through getting into hydroponics

Can you share your cabbage setup? Curious how large of heads? Grows like lettuce? I have the same bins DWC with lettuce but you got my attention...

I’ll let you guess which one is hydroponic vs raised bed. Same seeds.

The cabbage i have is an small early season variety, but i can’t remember the name from memory. It grows fairly quickly and has been cut and come again for a while. I have a feeling at some point its going to lose steam. The secondary heads can be a little smaller since they try to grow 3-4 at the same time.

I have it growing in a 27-gallon tote. I started with 6 plants, but i eventually pulled all but one that keeps on going like the energizer bunny. I do have one airstone in the tote so im sure that helps.

I have noticed that with adding a basil plant the ec level is dropping faster now (0.6), so i added in some replacement nutrients at 1.8ec, but i haven’t checked to see what the resultant ec is.

I will say im not going to win a state fair with the size of the heads, but they do make for great single use options. One head makes a perfect amount of Cole slaw for a single person.

Thats interesting thanks! Im going to give that a try, we love cabbage. I have 2 totes and thats too much lettuce for a family of 4, I need to convert one to something else to experiment and this makes sense. Looks great!

Broccoli is pretty good if you have the space. I have it in my nft and can get 2-3 heads every two weeks or so and that seems to be almost enough. If i could get it to 2-3 every week that would be better.

Lol, I'm surprised they're not marketing their own hydro line :P sooo many setups in Aus must be using their stuff!!

Its always neat when the roots start forming to the container walls
