So ‘Dark Matter’ is set in some distant future space age. I’m guessing that either my lamp has a VERY long warranty, or IKEA plans to still be around selling homewares on alien planets.

Some pics of the silver side table for anyone who was curious. Picked it up today and I’m really liking it, it’s hefty and a perfect size for me.

Just a heads-up, it’s not as chromey as the product photos make it look, in person it has more of a shiny steel finish.

The bucket seems pretty waterproof to me, but the site description says:

Best size, best height, best pillowcase.

No "cold side" that gets hotter than normal after a while. Just a good pillow.

Mine is getting due for replacement but it's discontinued. any ideas?

Almost certain that this isn’t what this subreddit is intended to be used for, but it does still technically relate to the IKEA chain of stores.

Plus sanity abandoned me about half an hour ago.

The short story for people unaware of the store setup in Reading is that the road layout outside the store is not fit for purpose, and certainly not fit for Bank Holiday traffic. It all backs up, stops, and here we stay.

I was tickled to find news articles from 2016, 2017, and 2018 of similar scenarios where people were stuck in the Reading car park for hours and hours. So glad to see progress has been made in the last decade resolving the issue.

So, anyone else on this sub sitting in the Reading car park?

Edit: as hour four approached, we have made it to the ground floor.

Update: we’ve left IKEA! We’re free! Now all we have to contend with is the traffic of Reading.

For all the issues, the Ikea staff were very nice. And we got some more water and a little box of chocolates.

Now to begin the journey home….four hours later than we expected!

Hi, I have tested at the store the IKEA JÄRVFJÄLLET and MATCHSPEL. The JÄRVFJÄLLET feels like my shoulders are about to pop out the chair because they are too wide while for the MATCHSPEL the space btw my knees and chair is very small like one finger. I can only buy IKEA stuff because I don't have 300/500 euros to drop. What's better for my health overall ?

in the first picture you can see the right side of the bed doesn’t slip into the end and leaves a gap, the left side i can just push in but not fully and it always leaves a gap. in the second picture, the drawers are on wonky, they are at different levels and the middle one is literally at a slope. does anyone know how i can fix this? i am not the one who put it together by the way

I measured my bedframe dimensions, the space where the mattress fits and got 48inch (122cm) width x 76 inch (193cm) length.

Will the 120 x 190cm mattress be suitable?

The Olserod side table is just paper foil on particle board. The paper gets damaged extremely easily, which ruins the entire thing.

Does anyone have advice on how to prevent this? Would some kind of varnish work?

I really want to get the basingen two step. Online it says it's available for delivery and in stock in store but when I go to add it to my basket it's says it fails. When I search for it on the app it doesn't appear but does when searched on Google and takes me straight to the page on the app. Is it worth going into the store? Will it actually be there? Why might this be happening?
