I’ve mentioned a lot that the end goal for the app is an illustrated guide to studying Japanese! I’m soo lucky that I can combine my tutoring with illustrating!

I created this stylized interpretation of Odysseus after watching Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey. I wanted to preserve the strength and determination of a legendary Greek warrior while translating him into my own simplified character design language.

I focused on bold shapes, a restrained ancient Greek color palette, and recognizable elements such as his bow, armor, helmet, and scroll. What do you think of this version of Odysseus?
