Btw, this is may be by-the-by, but I had a sudden thought that I think I'm correct about (not seen anyone say it tho): if you've seen the new Spider-Man film, tbe Hulk in that is the most Dale Keown-ish he's been in the movies so far.

(Just saying because Keown had a short but all-time great run on Hulk in the early 90s and, to me at least, he's the perfect Hulk artist. Keown also created Pitt, in case I hadnt said that already, after his run in Hulk. If you know anything about Image Comics, they were a bunch of suuuper hot artists at Marvel who all left to do their own stuff, and Keown was the first non-founder they brought in. Apparently he was so sought-after they offered to make him a Partner despite being a non-founding Partner. He declined for some reason).

Anyway, maybe the first part of my comment is factually wrong, but it definitely seemed Keown-ish, and thought I better write it down before I forgot

I think Pitt took out one of the bad Invincibles during the Invincible War storyline. He was incredibly powerful. Very cool character.

I was obsessed with him as a kid, and Keown’s art sold it even if the story was weak. I still think the coloring was lightyears ahead of its time.

I’ve actually just started picking the issues back up.

If Keown had been disciplined with keeping this series coming out on time, we’d probably all be discussing the fourth Pitt movie and the upcoming HBO show, PITT: THE COLLEGE YEARS. Same with J. Scott Campbell and DANGER GIRL when I think about it.

I have all the 1st Pitt issues. I love the character but Keown is an idiot unfortunaly. Someone with brains should pick this up.

He's the earliest Image Comics character not from one of the founders. I dibt think its technically stopped, but the creator (Dale Keown) is incredibly lazy (if thats the right term). He takes forever to do an issue (literally years between issues sometimes).

Look him up. Pitt is cool

Ydah, he's very Hulkish because his creator Dale Keown, worked on an incredibly celebrated run on Hulk itself (and, in my opinion, is the Hulk artist).

Im not sure how the quality of the actual comjcs holds up, tbh, but I just love the character itself. And the art is absolutely perfect if you like incredibly over-muscled juggernauts. Which it is

I think The Pitt started off great, but as the ongoing continued, the quality dropped, in my opinion. If I were recommending the book to someone, I’d suggest they read up until issue #8, which concludes the initial arc, and then I’d suggest they stop.

Oddly, though, I rather liked the Pitt/Darkness crossover mini from the 2000s.

In the original series, Timmie gets rather moody after gaining his telekinetic powers. In the crossover miniseries, he has most of that upbeat boyish charm he had in the opening arc of the ‘90s run. So, to me, it felt like what I wanted out of the original run, to an extent, in terms of Timmie’s characterization.
