Iām 25F, and I ended a relationship with someone I genuinely thought Iād build a future with. Iām not posting this because I want him back. I think I just need to put the whole story somewhere outside my head and hear what people think.
When we first met, I wasnāt even interested in him romantically. He was actually the one who kept trying to see me, asking me to meet him for chai, putting in effort and slowly making his way into my life. Eventually, I developed feelings because of that effort.
In the beginning of our relationship, he made a mistake by lying about unfollowing his ex because he was scared to tell me the truth. I was hurt, but I forgave him.
Then the fights started.
Initially, whenever we fought, he genuinely wanted to fix things. He would make an effort to make me happy and get us back to normal. But slowly, I felt like he stopped trying.
And this is where I think I made my biggest mistake: every time we fought, I came back.
Even when my ego told me not to. Even when my self-respect was hurt. Even when he said incredibly harsh things to me.
I didnāt keep coming back because I had nobody else. I didnāt think he was the only man I could ever find. I came back because of something he had told me very early in our relationship.
In our first month, he wrote me a letter saying that he wanted me in his life no matter what, that we would make mistakes but he wanted me through his highs and lows. Later, he asked me to promise that I wouldnāt give up.
I promised.
So every time I came back, I genuinely believed I was keeping a promise to the person I loved.
But over time, I started hearing things from him that I never thought someone who loved me could say. Comments about my past, my exes, other men, things said in anger just to hurt me. Some of those words stayed with me long after the arguments ended.
There were also moments where I felt like he was deliberately trying to make me feel replaceable.
And recently, I found out something that completely changed how I saw everything.
Someone he considers like a brother apparently saw messages on his phone and told me that he had been texting other girls. I promised this person I would never reveal his name, so I wonāt.
Whatās strange is that I didnāt immediately believe it.
My first instinct was still to trust my boyfriend.
I actually thought, āMaybe I should trust him instead of believing what someone else told me.ā
Thatās how badly I wanted to believe in him.
But now I keep thinking about how many times I ignored my own feelings because I wanted the relationship to work.
Maybe thatās what hurts the most.
I was constantly trying to find one reason to stay, while it felt like he was constantly finding one reason to leave.
There were good moments. Thatās what makes leaving difficult.
I loved the person he was in the beginning. I loved the little things, the chai dates, the effort, the feeling that someone genuinely wanted me in their life. I loved him enough to forgive things I probably shouldnāt have.
But somewhere along the way, I stopped feeling loved and started feeling like I was fighting to prove that I deserved basic respect.
And I donāt want to spend the rest of my life doing that.
But I think Iām finally accepting that loving someone doesnāt mean you have to keep choosing them when theyāre no longer choosing you.
Maybe I stayed too long.
Maybe I forgave too much.
Maybe I confused keeping a promise with holding onto something that had already changed.
I donāt know.
I just know that Iām exhausted.

I've been thinking about something lately.
Sometimes I wonder if I actually miss the person or if I just miss the version of myself that existed before everything became complicated.
Before I started overthinking every message.
Before silence felt like punishment.
Before I started questioning whether I was asking for too much.
The weirdest part is that after it's over, you can remember the good moments so vividly that you almost forget why you were hurting in the first place.
Maybe that's why people go back.
Not because the relationship suddenly became healthy, but because pain becomes familiar, and familiar things can feel strangely comforting.
I'm starting to think moving on isn't about forgetting someone Maybe it's about becoming someone who doesn't need them anymore.
Have you ever missed someone you knew you were better off without?

I 24F, have seen people talking on whether past matters or not. My doubt is whether the past where they had relationship only matters or even the past incidents where they faced mistreatment (like someone grabbing or groping or forcing) also matters?
Does those past events matter in the current relationship?

Context: Me [21M] and my gf[21F] have been together in a long distance relationship for almost 4 years. We were classmates from at the age of 10 and we were really good friends in high school. She was like my closest female friend. We got together when our school ended. To be frank, I donāt think we ever found each other attractive until we got together. And I think the reason that we got together is that at that time we were both going through some stuff, and we only had each other. She was having trouble with her ex-boyfriend, and I was the only one who stood by her and helped her.. and for me, I havenāt had any relationship before her, but I was going through some other stuff and she helped me with that,so I think we got really comfortable with each other and we got committed. And after school, we never studied in a institution or college together. We meet once or twice a month when we visit our hometown. And have been going this way since three and half years.
So the problem Iām facing now, is that I feel like Iām losing interest in our relationship. And this has really changed the dynamics of our relationship. Fights are happening more frequently, and she feels very disappointed and she asked me like whatās the problem? I donāt really know what happened, so I donāt know what to tell her and she ends up crying and I just stay silent. This is what it has been going on for the first past few days. I donāt know why I feel like this even when she cries I donāt feel like going after her, comforting her. I feel bad that I feel that way I donāt want to make her suffer because of us. She has really been good to me, and she has helped me with a lot of stuff, and I am really grateful to hear for that and sometimes I think leaving is the best thing for her, but I know 85 leave, she will be very much destroyed. Case already. She hates her life because the only thing she likes in your life present is me, she hates her college. She donāt have any ātrue friendsā there, so I know that Iām the only one she has right now. But I canāt provide what she is seeking. I want to, but I just canāt. I donāt feel like putting that effort. I think maybe itās cause my life has changed from what it was. And I canāt really speak this open, lead to her. She takes her relationship very seriously, and she believes this is forever. I really donāt know what to do, so. Please help me out or tell me if I am at wrong feeling this way.
Also at times i wonder how she can be so sure of me, like how can she just completely fix me in her mind and decide that I am the one, is it because she has been in relationship before unlike me? because sometimes I wonder what if she is not the one, Iām not saying this because she treats me bad or because I donāt like her. Itās just that there is this curiosity that never goes away.
What do I do? Do I stay and make us both dissatisfied or do i leave and destroy her life. Or is there any other option.
TL;DR:
The Situation: Me (21M) and my GF (21F) have been LDR for nearly 4 years after starting as childhood friends. We originally got together out of mutual emotional support during a tough time, rather than strong initial attraction.
The Problem: As my life has changed, Iām kind of losing interest and motivation to put in effort. Weāre fighting constantly, and when she cries, I feel emotionally detached and don't even feel like comforting her.
The Conflict: She is completely set on me being "the one," hates her college life, and treats me as her only support system. I constantly wonder what else is out there, but I feel trappedāstaying makes us both miserable, but leaving feels like it will destroy her.
The Dilemma: Do I stay and leave us both dissatisfied or do i break up and ruin her mental state, or is there another way forward?

Iām a 27-year-old woman, single, and have never been married before. A few months ago, I came across a guy [31M] on a matrimony app who I found interesting and liked his profile. I thought about messaging him on Instagram, but I couldnāt find his account, so I eventually gave up and thought, āMaybe itās just not meant to be.ā
Then, about two weeks later, he actually sent me a friend request on Instagram. I assumed maybe he had seen my profile on the matrimony app and wanted to check out my photos/profile.
He went silent for about a week but eventually I decided to start a casual conversation. I messaged him and said Iād like to chat if heās interested.
When we talked, he told me that he had seen my profile, but at the same time he had received another marriage proposal/alliance, and they were planning to meet that weekend. He said that if I was okay with it, we could still talk, but I didnāt want him to pursue two people at the same time. So I suggested that we wait for about two weeks, and if things didnāt work out with the other person, we could talk.
I agreed and left it at that.
The thing is, that was three months ago, and he has never messaged me since. I also havenāt noticed any updates on his Instagram profile, so I have no idea whether that other alliance worked out or not.
Now Iām wondering: Should I message him after three months just to check in and see what happened? Or would that come across as desperate or like Iām chasing someone who clearly isnāt interested?
Part of me feels like I should just leave it alone and move on. But another part of me thinks thereās no harm in sending one simple message.
What would you do in this situation? Would you message him, or just let it go?

Soo, my sister has been dating this Indian guy she met through a friend for about a year. I genuinely find it so incredibly cute. We're both white and how their skin contrasts is so amazing. He teaches her about his culture a lot so she recently started wearing some indian clothes, started sitting differently, he always gets her indian food to try...it's honestly beautiful. She goes over to his house very often and I can only wonder what they do then. They're always so happy together. Our family has been adjusting to it all too. I know how weird this is to say and I'm sorry if this is not the sub for this BUT I HAD TO GET THIS OUT SOMEWHERE. I'm also sorry for posting here as I'm not Indian myself or if it's the wrong flair...I can remove this if I need to.

How I got traumatized after 6 years of relationship because of religion difference
Now 23M muslim , 22F jain
I was born in mumbai and was raised in a normal family with no religious identity, just because of religious differences I feel I lost diamond and she lost emerald
I first met her in my diploma clg in 2018 , then we were friends she used to have a crush on me , I knew that and I just used to get my work done assignments and stuff
For the first 2 years she didn't approach another guy or anything like that but in 3rd year I felt I did wrong to her and decided to be in a relationship as she still had a crush on me from there 2020-2025 rip, we were the best ,my best other half I would say , never a third in the span of 6 years , no micro cheating or cheating, only love , it felt the love was increasing as the days passed by
After that we got into Btech then we got separated clg and she started to become more distant but still not enough that I wouldn't notice we continued our relo we had little ups and down but always found a way out and sorted things always putting each other first rather than ego
Then in 2024 I got dropped from my Btech due to personal issues in my home and i worked in my drop year , I used to earn survival money as a 21 yr old and i literally upgraded the relo by going great dates , doing fun stuff , enjoying shopping etc
Then I got into another job in the same year and she became very distant but I used to ignore ki last year me he assignments and all me she might be busy, then she got placement from clg and this was big as a fresher she had a 4 lpa job ,she became very distant ,this happened for 1.5 months then I got breakdown ki what is all this ? What's going on then she said she doesn't feel anything now and she doesn't wanna continue, this literally shattered my reality I knew this was gonna happen but not this early
I let her go because I don't want someone who pretends to love me but not, it has been 1.5 yrs of our breakup my friends who are hindu too says we know how you are leave it.We can't force someone and all even I have moved on consciously but subconsciously i haven't, the void that has cause I feel I can never fill that with any amount of money , girl and contraband
We never had penetrative intimacy because she didn't like that and was scared too and I never forced her to respecting the boundaries just normal intimacy (hugs, kiss , cuddle in bed )
She had some disorder i didn't remember the name in which periods are delayed and her case was different because she miss 2-3 months period mostly , i took care of her every time , not saying I'm so great , that's my responsibility to do it just letting some emotions out
I know as a girl in India where we see so many cases you know , it's difficult for her to roam with me in public places , to open about our relationship not hiding it etc ,
I totally understand that this is a major issue but I was ready to be converted to her belief system because of her , but she always refused,
We don't talk anymore but she calls me in every 3 months just to ask how's me and all , whenever I see that call I feel like crying burst out of my emotions but I control myself and always try to avoid the conversation I know she misses me too and it's hard for her too idk man that's why she call me to hear my voice and i had blocked her in normal calls she knows that but calls me on WhatsApp i haven't blocked her there intentionally
She had a constant fear of me doing something bad to her physical harm which I wouldn't but she always felt that way and never had trust in me but you know what that's fine I understand how egoistic some are in my community that they handle rejection or lose of their desires
My friends who are mostly Hindus tell me not talk back to her we have recovered you somehow we are suprised that you haven't committed suicide or gone into mental asylum the way me and her used to stay together they are thankful that they got me back from her and always cuss her for dumping me
I don't have any negative thoughts in my head for harming me or her because of all this, but this kills me everyday, every seconds that why can't I ? What was the missing factor , all this had increased my insecurities in general, my confidence, my spark all
I have to tried start dating again, I talk with someone I make the conversation go in my favour but something inside me always say wata , nahi karna he ye sab it's just my heart that isn't ready
In the end it's just i have started to hate myself and my religious identity and I have slowing into being a atheist,
I feel ki uss ne mere sath aisa kiya she doesn't trust me and jaha trust ni relo ka matlab nahi but one side I feel empathy for her ki she had also faced all the religious comments from our classmates, but my friends who are hindu whether it be clg , area or any they never find me different from them as I have a great personality that I get blend with ppl and they also never told ki your a Muslim don't date her and all because they all trust me a individual not as a Muslim
I have also respected her faith and she used to tell me that she's scared of muslims in general the way we dress , beard style the religious cap and all so I also started to avoid my duties of religion not saying it's a flex or I have done so much for but just for some info that how much I actually adore her
In the end just my genuine question is someone you know personally for 6 years you have seen the mindset , personality, intellectual abilities and trust would you give up on that person ? Even after ideologies difference?
I don't need any suggestions or advice on moving on
I'm not complaining though I was just feeling a little low and just wanted to share all this
Sorry for expressing this much I had more things to say but I think I'll stop because I don't want to get nightmares in my dreams at night
Really sorry for typing this much and thank you for reading all the way here
Genuinely sorry and thank you

I told my husband about me finding online brother and he laughed again.
I got banned yesterday for whatever reason so posting again!
I connected with some of good people but most were creepy just to let you know guys i am married and i don't wish to indulge in any kind of romantic relationship don't message me or waste your time.
F28, Had a fight with my husband where he mocked me how i don't have a brother and he has 5 brothers, i am a single child and i found it really mature of him to mock someone like that. I can't really ask anybody outside or in my office as they will find it very immature or funny but yes i miss having a sibling, my friend was using reddit when i saw her and i just installed it so yeah i am looking for a brother i don't know if it's a right platform or not but anybody who can be my brother and make a bond is welcome to message me

I am a 27F Nepali from Kathmandu and my boyfriend is a 29M Indian jaat from Uttarakhand. We met online, fell in love and are planning to get engaged this December. ā¤ļø
I am the eldest child in my family while he is the youngest in his. One thing I have noticed is that our family dynamics and age differences are quite different. My family is relatively young and I guess, a little more modern/liberal in some ways. His parents are around my grandparents age while his siblings are around the same age as my parents. So naturally his family is a bit more traditional than what I am used to and they are very simple people.
That said I actually havenāt had any major issues with his family so far.
They know that I wear short clothes and have seen my photos because I didnāt want to pretend to be someone I am not just to make a good impression. They told my bf āshe *can wear whatever she wants with you but when you guys visit us after marriage we would prefer if you wore a suit.ā* Since my boyfriend and I will be living separately ( we will be living in delhi because he works there⦠he is a software engineer and i would also search my line of work in delhi once we get engaged i did cfa and mba in finance ) I honestly donāt have an issue with this. I am pretty aware of when and where different kinds of clothing are appropriate so I donāt see it as a huge problem.
From some of our conversations I also get the feeling that they donāt have many expectations from me because they think I am quite modern and probably donāt know much about their traditions or way of doing things. In a way that might actually make things easier because I am not expected to suddenly know everything. There are some other cultural differences too. His family is vegetarian while I am non-vegetarian but thankfully, my boyfriend eats non-veg so that isnāt an issue between us. We are both Hindu but even then the way we celebrate festivals and follow certain traditions is quite different between Nepal and India.
I have actually never been to India before so this whole thing feels both exciting and scary. Nepal is all I have really known and moving into a new country, culture, family environment and social setting will obviously be a huge change.
I am not particularly worried about his family controlling my lifestyle or anything like that. My main concern is simply adjustment.
For those of you who have moved to a different country/culture after marriage especially Nepali/Indian couples or people who married into a family with very different traditions:
What cultural differences surprised you the most?
What things should I be prepared for when visiting/living with an Indian family?
Are there any social or family expectations that I might not even realize exist?
What helped you adjust without losing your own identity and habits?
Is there anything you wish someone had told you before getting married?
And for anyone from jaat community specifically are there any customs or family traditions I should know about?
I am genuinely excited about this new chapter but I would be lying if I said I wasnāt a little nervous. I would love to hear your experiences, advice or even things you think I should be careful about.

Hey I am confused what is happening?
I had a girl in my life with whom I was in a situationship and both of us were talking endlessly meeting almost daily we even made out and she became my everything. My whole time and attention was dedicated to her and she even started coming in my dreams.
But I don't know suddenly she has removed her insta pfp and changed her username to "Instagram User". She even removed all her followers and following. But the thing is it only happened in my phone I checked in my best friend's phone it was normal. But in my phone it is abnormal.
What is it ? Is there a problem with my phone or my account?

Hello,
Tbh i am introvert in real life and ig online.
I am planning to improve my communication skills not so confident to directly talk with girls offline , so i thought to start from reddit.
Like we are anonymous, dk each other.
If any girl is interested chat , trust me no creep stuff will be done.
Its just for me to know how to have a conversation with girl , not juts talk , but actual conversation.

I'm 19 M, my crush is 18 F. She's my classmate.
I talk to her sometimes, but when we're sitting together
It feels like there's something between us, like I feel that she also feels it. If I talk about her, she's really cute to look at, she's short so when she smiles she looks like a doll. She sometimes comes and sits next to me, at that time she keeps her hands on my thighs. If there's anything on my face she'll fix it. I go to the gym, and when I wear a t-shirt she'll say 'let's see your abs' and touch my stomach. When I take pictures with her, I end up blushing. Sometimes when she walks with me she holds my hand (holds onto my bicep). I enjoy all this, but I don't know why ā if anyone asks her about me, she says 'we're just friends.' If anyone says anything bad about me, she'll fight them, she'll defend me. I don't know what all this means.
Does she have feelings for me or not?
And if she does, what exactly is it??"
