LA before vs after led lights 2014. 2026 is their present reality.

In their defence white light make people more attentive. Yellow or warm light makes people relaxed and lead to drivers dozing off and can lead to accidents. White light looks shit but it has some use in this scenario.

I hate the white colored tubelights around my house, at best I got to install smart bulbs in my room.

Also nad for the birds. Fcks with them way worse than warm lights

the confidence to turn a streetlight comparison into an entire civilizational statement is unmatched

First one looks natural while the second one looks like a science lab

It all starts with cinematography. Most new movies have flat lighting. There's barely any shadows.

cinematographer most likely.

It boils down to the producer though as they have to agree to have expensive sets with preferred lighting than just use bright light as it's cheap and provides uniformity.

It's lighting AND color grading.

u/That_Amphibian_1759 17h ago

Nope it's because of Netflix

u/KALLA17061999 16h ago

film grain is the least of the problems here. It's the flat lighting, lack of shadows and contrast, the KIND of lighting used and ten other things. Also the fact that they used to shoot on film compared to the digital cameras now.

off topic, but 2026 Anne doesn't look a day older than her 2006 self😮(I absolutely DESPISE the color grading in 2020s movies)

In the attempt to make it minimalist, they ended up making it completely dull

2006 looks like movie but 2026 looks like reality

1

u/One-Field-4427 6h ago

Barely think its just color grading, in the 2006 version, her eyes are puffy as she just came out of her bed, her hair frizzy and all over. Also, when you look into the mirror, we usually look at a part of our face and not straight as shown in the 2026 version. The subtle details make it look more genuine and not just the color. The contrast is lost in today's cinema, its very monotone BRIGHT!!

i like white to be visible as white and not yellow

9

u/sasmilovescheeeeks 19h ago

it's not exactly yellow. it's a cozy beige lighting. it js feels more lively.
