Need Advice ㋡ Severe burning while peeing during my period + chills and numb legs first time experiencing this

19F. I’ve never experienced anything like this before and I’m honestly getting quite worried.

I’m currently on my period. Ever since my period started, I’ve had a really uncomfortable burning sensation around my vaginal area. It’s not only when I pee there’s a burning/irritated feeling even when I’m just sitting or doing nothing.

But when I pee, the burning becomes really, really bad. I’ve also noticed that my urine has a strange/unusual odor, which I don’t normally have.

More recently, I’ve started getting chills/shivering sensations in my body, and my legs sometimes feel numb. The numbness comes and goes.

I’m 19 , and I’ve never had this happen during my periods before. I’m not sure whether being on my period could be causing irritation or whether this could be something like a UTI or another infection.

I’m currently in a new place and I’m alone here, so I’m honestly pretty scared and don’t know whether I should try an online consultation first or go directly to a clinic/hospital. I also don’t have a lot of money, so I’m worried about the cost of seeing a doctor.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? What should I do? Is this something I should get checked urgently?

Please be kind. I’m genuinely uncomfortable and anxious because this is completely new for me.

Need Advice ㋡ - from Women/NB-only Am I overthinking my husband’s recent efforts to repair our marriage?

My husband and I had a really good relationship before we had kids. We were happy, close, and I also had a good relationship with his mom.
We have twin daughters who are now 14 months old. After having the babies, I developed pretty severe postpartum depression. I was struggling mentally and emotionally and, honestly, I wasn’t myself. I became very angry and had a lot of rage, which was completely unlike me before having kids.
At the same time, we were dealing with major financial problems because I had to stop working. I felt like I desperately needed help, but my MIL, who lives in the same house, would openly refuse to help. My husband also wasn’t very involved with the babies or with supporting me, which led to a lot of resentment and fighting between us.
Eventually, my mental health got so bad that my husband and my parents mutually agreed that I should go stay with my parents for a couple of months to get support. My parents live several states away.
I’ve been staying with my parents with the babies since the end of January. I initially thought it would only be for a couple of months and that the time apart would give everyone a chance to calm down and hopefully work on things.
Instead, my husband basically didn’t check on me or the kids for four months. No calls, no real effort to see how we were doing. He essentially waited for me to initiate contact.
When he finally did reach out, it turned into a fight. Since then, his efforts to communicate with me and the kids have been very inconsistent.
Now, more recently, he says he wants to repair our relationship and seems to be making more of an effort.
The problem is that I’m having a really hard time trusting it.
Part of me wonders if he’s genuinely realized what he’s losing and wants to fix our family. But another part of me feels like his efforts have increased because his relatives are starting to find out about the problems in our marriage, and he’s worried about how everything looks.
I don’t know if I’m being unfair or if my doubts are completely understandable.
I also recognize that I wasn’t easy to deal with during postpartum depression and that my anger and behavior contributed to the breakdown of our relationship. I take responsibility for that. But I also can’t get past the fact that he went four months without checking on me or his own children.
Am I overthinking his current efforts? How would you tell the difference between someone genuinely wanting to repair their marriage and someone reacting to family pressure or fear of losing the relationship?
I don’t want to make a decision based purely on emotion. I want to know what I should actually be looking for in his behavior.

Awareness Difference in the freedom and prosperity of Women in USA versus India observed by Swami Vivekananda in 1893.

Nowhere in the world are women like those of this (USA) country. How pure, independent, self-relying, and kindhearted! It is the women who are the life and soul of this country. All learning and culture are centred in them. The saying, "या श्री: स्वयं सुकृतिनां भवनेषु — Who is the Goddess of Fortune Herself in the families of the meritorious" (Chandi) — holds good in this country, while that other, "अलक्ष्मीः पापात्मनां — The Goddess of ill luck in the homes of the sinful" (ibid.) — applies to ours. Just think on this. Great God! I am struck dumb with wonderment at seeing the women of America. "त्वं श्रीस्त्वमीश्वरी त्वं ह्रीः — Thou art the Goddess of Fortune, Thou art the supreme Goddess, Thou art Modesty" (ibid.), "या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्तिरूपेण संस्थिता — The Goddess who resides in all beings as Power" (ibid.) — all this holds good here. There are thousands of women here whose minds are as pure and white as the snow of this country.

And how free they are! It is they who do all the work—schools and colleges are full of girls. Whereas, in our wretched land, women cannot be safely allowed to walk in the streets!

And Manu Maharaj said, “ यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवता: ।” [Where women are happy, upon those families there is abundance of God’s grace.] That is what they do here, and that is why they are happy, learned, free, and enterprising. Whereas we look upon women as low, base, despicable, and impure—and as a result—we are beastly, slavish, unenterprising, and poor. We are horrible sinners, and our degradation is due to our calling women ‘despicable worms,’ ‘gateways to hell,’ and so forth. Goodness gracious!

No woman is married before twenty-five or thirty, and they are as free as the birds in the air. They go to market, shops, college, teach, earn money—do all kinds of work and yet so pure! Those who are well-to-do are busy day and night serving the poor.

And what do we do?—“If my daughter is not married by eleven years of age, she would be spoiled!” Are we men, my son? Manu says, कन्याप्येवं पालनीया शिक्षणीयातियत्नतः । Just as the sons have to be educated by observing Brahmacharya up to the thirtieth year, the daughters should also be taught likewise. But what are we doing? Can you improve the condition of your women?—then there is hope, otherwise, no end to this beastly life!

The difference is like heaven and hell!! Is the Lord hoodwinked by frothy talks? The Lord has said, “ त्वं स्त्री त्वं पुमानसि त्वं कुमार उत वा कुमारी ” (You (Brahman/God) are woman; you are man. You are the boy, and also the girl.) and we say, “दूरमपसर रे चण्डाल,” “केनैषा निर्मिता नारी मोहिनी” (Move far away, O Caṇḍāla!) Oh brother, what I saw in South India—how the upper class tortures the lower!—the exuberance of dance of courtesans in temples!

Made some switches in my daily routine

1) Started using jaggery instead of sugar because its a healthier option

2) instead of my favvvvv ( mango shake ) started drinking banana shake for weight gain :(

3) instead of eating a lot of butter switched to high protien dahi ( that was actually a hard change cause i loved paranthas with butter )

4) also added this weight gain supplement

5) i also ordered wellcore creatine and avvatar protien to add to my diet

Is there anything else that i could add in my diet to make it more healthy and things that would help me in gaining weight ?

Mental Health 🦋 Has anyone else felt like they’ve genuinely tried, but are still exhausted with how life is going?

I hope this doesn’t come across like I’m victimizing myself, because that’s really not what I’m trying to do. I know I have things I can control, and I have been trying.

I’ve dealt with health issues for years, seen doctors, gone to therapy, joined the gym, tried art, reading, making routines, eating better — constantly trying different things to get myself out of this mental rut.

But honestly, coming out of a mental rut is so fucking difficult. And when you’re struggling for a long time, you inevitably start comparing yourself to people around you.

Sometimes I look at people I’ve helped who are now doing better than me, and it hurts. Especially when they disappear or start looking down on you after getting the job/opportunity they wanted. I’m happy for them, but a part of me still wonders, when will it be my turn?

Work is draining me too. I make routines and plans because I genuinely want to improve, but some days I’m so burnt out that even basic things feel difficult.
I want to travel, experience things and actually enjoy my life, but I don’t really have a friend group to do that with either.

I’m not saying I’m helpless or that I have it worse than everyone else. I’m just really tired despite genuinely trying.
Has anyone else felt this way?

Awareness I posted on Reddit looking for a job and got this kind of message instead…

I posted on Reddit looking for a job and got this kind of message instead…

I recently made a post on Reddit saying that I’m looking for opportunities in AI/ML, GenAI, Python, etc. I genuinely thought Reddit could be a good place to connect with people and find job/internship opportunities.

A guy messaged me saying something like:

«“Hey Nisha, how is it going? Just checking on your job/internship requirements.”»

So I replied normally and told him that my job search was still going on.

He then said he was looking for “good women to work along with,” which I initially interpreted as a professional opportunity.

He asked for my LinkedIn, which I shared. Then he asked for pictures. I told him I didn't have professional pictures. After that, he asked if I had Telegram. I said no.

Then he said he wanted to ask me something and asked:

“Are you open women?”

I honestly didn't understand what he meant, so I asked him what he meant by “open” — whether he meant being frank or comfortable talking openly.

He clarified that he meant it in a sexual/relationship context.

Then he said:

«“A bit of gf kinda!!!! Will take care good of that person for sure and won't touch anyone without consent,,, as a start a movie or lunch,,, apart from work”»

And then:

«“Bonus if you smokeup”»

I was genuinely shocked.

I was talking to him because I thought he was contacting me regarding work, not because I was looking for a relationship or anything sexual.

I eventually told him that I was genuinely looking for a job and that I thought Reddit was a good platform for finding jobs and connecting with a good community.

I'm sharing this because I don't want to discourage women from using Reddit for career opportunities, but please be careful when someone approaches you through a job-seeking post.

Has anyone else experienced something similar while looking for jobs/internships on Reddit?

And for the guys here: if you're genuinely recruiting someone, please keep it professional. A person saying they're looking for a job is not an invitation for a romantic or sexual proposition.

Need Advice ㋡ Is this manipulation/grooming, or am I overthinking it?

I’m trying to figure out whether I’m reading too much into a situation with a guy I used to talk to.

About a year ago, when we first started talking, he was 21/22 and I was 18. He was pretty upfront that he wanted something casual and physical. He also insisted that I should lose my virginity to him. I refused because I liked him and wanted something more than casual, so I stopped talking to him.

At the time, our conversations weren’t constantly sexual. The main issue was that he wanted something casual and I didn’t.

After about a year, he came back and initially talked to me normally, just friendly conversation. Gradually, the flirting became sexual again, and honestly I enjoyed it too. I’m also attracted to him and, if we’re in the same city, I do want to get physical with him.

What’s confusing me is whether his changed behavior is genuine or whether he’s simply being more patient because he knows that if he plays it cool, he might eventually get what he wants.

He hasn’t promised me a relationship or pretended that he suddenly wants something serious. He’s actually been pretty straightforward about the sexual attraction. We also have normal conversations now.

He suggested meeting for coffee first. I said I thought that was too soon and that I’d rather get to know each other more before meeting, and he agreed without arguing or pressuring me.

So now I’m confused.

Could this still be manipulation, where he’s deliberately acting chill and agreeing with my boundaries because he ultimately wants sex? Or does it sound more like two adults who are mutually attracted to each other, with him genuinely respecting my pace?

I know nobody can read his mind, but I’d really like an outside perspective on whether there are actual red flags here or whether I’m overanalyzing his intentions because of how things went the first time.

Political 📃 So who is the real "Pa*pu"? I will never understand people who hate Rahul Gandhi.

We finally have a major mainstream politician treating women as complete human beings with actual agency, instead of reducing them to symbolic domestic roles.

For decades, Indian political discourse around women has been stuck in the exact same tiresome loop. Politicians talk about women exclusively as "Behen, Beti, or Devi" (sisters, daughters, or goddesses) to be protected or worshiped on a pedestal. It sounds respectful on the surface, but it is deeply dehumanizing. When you reduce a woman to her relationship to a man or elevate her to a moral ideal, you strip away her individuality. A "Beti" needs protection, a "Devi" needs reverence, but a human woman needs rights, economic independence, equal safety, and bodily autonomy.

Hearing a leader explicitly state that women are individuals first, people who exist outside the narrow roles society imposes on them, is a baseline standard in feminist thought, but it feels revolutionary in our political environment.

Then you look at the comment section under the video, and it is genuinely sickening. The immediate pushback, the hostility, and the sheer refusal to recognize women as autonomous beings show just how deeply ingrained this mindset is. The casual misogyny makes you feel suffocated. I feel stuck here, and reading those reactions makes it hard to hold onto any hope that things will fundamentally change.

People love to repeat political slogans and memes, but Rahul Gandhi was speaking out on structural issues and calling out his own party long before 2014. I have plenty of reasons to criticize Congress and its historical legacy, including how the party under Nehru handled the Northeast. But when it comes to someone actively trying to shift the national narrative toward genuine female autonomy rather than empty paternalistic rhetoric, I cannot hate him for it.

Political 📃 If Women Don’t Rise, Injustice Will Increase

Post image
22 Upvotes

Rahul Gandhi’s Chhatron ki Goonj (Voice of Students) conference in Pune, addressed primarily to girl students, where he spoke against paper leaks and corruption in examinations, as well as misogyny and patriarchy, comes at a time of escalating attacks against women from the Hindutva brigade and the BJP.

Rahul Gandhi mentioned in his speech how PM Modi chose to target women protesters by saying that their use of expletives was a cultural shock. Since the student protests at Jantar Mantar against NEET paper leaks, which eventually forced the resignation of a Union Minister, the Hindutva brigade and BJP foot soldiers have furiously targeted women protesters, including minor girls. The women were doxxed, abused and threatened, their families were targeted, and cases were filed against them. The Godi media also joined this campaign to target women protesters.

A 15-year-old girl was abused and harassed, and an FIR was registered against her by falsely claiming her age to be 25. Even after she released an apology video, clearly identifying herself as a minor, the Hindutva brigade launched a campaign claiming that she had made her younger sister apologise on her behalf. In reality, the girl had no sister. Imagine the vileness of the “culturally shocked”, who subjected a minor girl to such vicious campaign.

Rhiya Ahir, who was seen stopping a police van, was abused and accused of doing it for publicity. Shraddha Singh, who had made a comment about the CRPF, was abused and her family was targeted. Many more girls were subjected to abuse and harassment simply for joining the protest. No police cases were registered against the abusers.

Tracked, Doxxed, Put on TV Trial: How Women CJP Protesters Were Hunted Down By the Right Wing and ‘Star’ Anchors - The Wire

Delhi CJP Protest: Why Women Felt Safer in the Crowd

It is important to remember that these are not isolated incidents, but part of an organised campaign. The campaign against women protesters was coordinated by prominent Hindutva organisations and popular Hindutva social media handles associated with the BJP IT Cell. These handles regularly orchestrate campaigns to target women. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, these handles orchestrated a campaign of abuse and threats against women survivors who spoke against the exploitation of the attack to target Muslims. These handles also targeted Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and his daughter. Yet, not one person from the BJP spoke against it, clearly implying that the campaign was endorsed by the party.

Weaponisation of Hate: How BJP IT Cell Targets Women On Social Media With Impunity

The BJP IT Cell has regularly targeted women journalists, scholars and students. Even foreign journalists have not been spared.

It is ironic that PM Modi, who has sheltered and supported people who have abused, threatened and doxxed women on social media for years, found insults against himself to be a “cultural shock”. Yet this is not the first time that BJP leaders have identified and targeted women protesters. During the anti-CAA movement, UP CM Yogi Adityanath claimed that women were being made to sit on the roads by the opposition. Yogi Adityanath had earlier written about why women should not be allowed independence, arguing that it could lead to their destruction. RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, too, has said that women belong in households.

Anti-CAA Movement and Shaheen Bagh: When Women Led A Resistance Against Fascism in India

The problem is not just that the ideology of the BJP/RSS is anti-women, but that the BJP/RSS is scared of women rising to protest. This is why the attacks against women are often more severe. When women rise, they challenge not only injustice but also the structures of power that sustain it. And that is precisely what the BJP/RSS fears.
