I have a collection of original illustrations by Joe Petagno (best known for his Motörhead-illustrations), created for a Kellogg's Corn Flakes / Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on-pack campaign in Scandinavia around 1992–93.

I was the art director on Kellogg's back then and worked with Joe at the time, and these are the actual finished illustrations used for the packaging; not prints or reproductions. I've added an original Corn Flakes pack to show how some of the artwork was used.

They've been sitting in storage for more than 30 years, and I'm considering selling the collection to someone who'll appreciate these artworks.

Does anyone here know where this kind of original (Young) Indiana Jones production/advertising artwork would best be sold? Auction house, specialist dealer, collector community, etc.?

INDIANA JONES AND THE WAY OF WISDOM

The year is 1934, and intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones is about to have a well-earned vacation. Weary from several back-to-back adventures, Indy can't wait to take a sabbatical far away from the typical gunfire, explosions, fisticuffs and booby-trapped tombs for a change.

But fate has other plans for history's greatest hero.

Whispers of a new lead on an ancient Greek relic, the Golden Owl of Athena, reach not only his ears, but also those of Hitler himself. According to myth, whomever possesses this symbol of the Goddess of Wisdom will be blessed with enhanced intellect. And in the hands of Germany's armies, this will spell certain doom for anyone that opposes them in the looming war.

Thus, Indy's vacation will have to wait. Utilizing all of his resources and connections, he has now found his way to the mystical forest where the Owl rests. But what will happen, once he's obtained this artifact?

Started this back in July, made out of insulation foam with a wood burner to carve the markings, even has the sinking mechanism.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but the text and Deutsche Grammophon logo on the front cover are metallic gold and a different, shinier texture. A beautiful touch.

In Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy escapes the Hovitos after taking the golden idol. Since he was running for his life it must have been at full speed. Since a human can only maintain such speed for a limited time, the floatplane piloted by Jock must have been relatively close: likely within a short trek (an hour TOPS) of the temple.

If Indy and Jock already had a map showing the approximate location of the temple, why didn't Indy simply fly with Jock, trek for an hour (with or without Jock), retrieve the idol, and leave?

Instead, the movie shows Indy as undertaking a (weeks?) long, difficult jungle Trek with guides and supplies and drama. But if the extraction point was so close that Indy could run there while being chased, thus knowing exactly where it was w.r.t the temple, then the initial journey seems unnecessarily overcomplicated.

There is something about the whole way the movie progresses, the pacing is just spot on perfect. The first act just grabs you and doesn't let go. It has this almost mythical quality out of a dream or something.

It definitely has the most "flash gordon" pulp sci fi feel of all the three films probably the closest one to Star Wars. All the supernnatural demonic elements really add to it, the subterranean feel of the caves etc.

As much as Willie is hated, I think she provides the perfect counterpart to Indy's ego, even besting the pairing of Connery in Last Crusade in some parts. She is pretty much the Indy version of Princess Leia in the way she acted to Indy. Though I think Marion was a little more in the rebel fighter spirit, but they both got their punches in.

It feels like it is the most personal and darkest struggle of all the movies to Spielberg. The power trio of Willie, Short Round, and Indy really feels like a dysfunctional family . Even the ending is a tribute to the ending of A New Hope.

Not sure what else to add. The action and tension just keeps building and building all the way up to the mine cart and the bridge. It's just the best action adventure movie ever made.

We've discussed before the idea of Disney/Lucasfilm making prologues instead of full-length films; for economic reasons, and the fact that Disney and others are looking more closely at shorter content (probably because of Tik Tok as well as economic).

What if Disney made actual serials? A closely-related idea, but different in approach. I don't know a lot about that past format, but what if a new Jones story that ran maybe thirty minutes was broken up into 3 or 4 minute bites and played before Disney's summer slate?

As an example, take this summer. The Grogu film sees the first part, Toy Story 5 sees part 2, Moana sees part 3, and so on...and I would include the Twentieth projects too, such as Devil Wears Prada 2, Super Troopers 3, etc. Maybe there could even be a sponsorship...Diet Coke presents Indiana Jones and the X. Ten serials. And one or two - but maybe just one - would solely focus on the villain's perspective. Maybe use an unknown for Jones, or someone incubated from television. Perhaps use one anchor star. Port it all to streaming on Thanksgiving, release a Blu-ray with deleted scenes and a making-of and an exclusive card/figure in mid-December.

Whatever the specifics, I think this might be cool, but I throw it to the group. Generate new merchandise (tee shirts, hats, action figures, playsets). Do a comic. Trading cards. A video game, maybe on an older console (Super Nintendo, Genesis, Game Boy Advance) as well as a newer one, but it wouldn't have to be a $20 million affair for the latter. Maybe even have a fast-food tie-in.

Could this be a summer tradition? Every few years? Don't do it? All opinions respected, and thanks in advance.

Xbox version. Vatican. I’m really stumped by this, I’ve collected all 58/58 field notes, and all other adventure / mystery notes. I’ve also solved all mysteries (achievement unlocked).

But what’s bugging me is the 58/63 “Discoveries” under the Travel chapter notes, and also the field notes still appearing on the map when I select “Field Notes”. I’ve gone to look for these but there’s nothing there. What am I missing?
