IMPORTANT: Drop your links for your games here!

TL;DR: Devs drop your links in the comments and a short description of your game.

Hey guys, I'm Nick from RetroGames HQ, and I am the new mod of r/IndieGame. I came upon this subreddit, and it had no mods. As such, I requested to be mod, and I was made one.

I am a YouTuber who plays and covers a lot of indie Monster Taming games. MT is a genre that exploded in 2020 with no sign of letting up in 2021. Pokémon got you down? The indie MT scene is the cure.

If you're interested in seeing what the monster taming genre has to offer, then check out my channel and join the biggest monster taming server.

I thought I would make this post to (1) provide a way for devs to get their games out there and (2) to introduce myself transparently.

Thanks for joining us here at r/IndieGame!

Thank you guys for growing this community from one that was abandoned to one that gets posted in every single day!

Let's take this chance to celebrate the community. Share with us your favorite game you've seen on the sub, and, if you're a dev, feel free to share your game afterwards!

I'll go through this thread every so often to add the dev flair to all the devs who comment here.

Indian horror game

Thumbnail
Upvotes

Since it's an indie game I would like to share this:

This horror game looks pretty interesting. The setting is an abandoned school, there's a missing child, and apparently some creepy entity lurking around the place, the whole premise looks like it could make for some genuinely unsettling, like bro for an Indian indie game I think its going pretty good so i decided to spread the words across gamers. The game is called Classroom 3B on Steam if anyone wants to see.

I've made a procedural horror maze game inspired by 80's retro AI and CRT visuals

I’ve been working on a game called Embermaze: Descent, a dark-fantasy survival-horror game where you descend into a procedurally generated labyrinth that gets progressively darker, and more hostile, the deeper you go.

The basic idea is simple:
- Find three coloured keys.
- Use the keys to unlock a chest, which lets you return to the elevator.
- Use your Torch to navigate the darker areas.
- Avoid (or temporarily banish) the ghosts using your spells.
- Manage your limited spells. You have three, which can be recharged with recharge points.
- Get back to the elevator before you’re caught.
- Inspired by 80’s retro AI and gameplay.

The slightly nasty part is that you and the ghosts share the same recharge points.

Sometimes you have to decide whether to spend your last spell, make a run for it, or risk letting a ghost recharge.

Every maze is unique, and as you go deeper the ambient light reduces, the ghosts become more numerous, and eventually you’re navigating almost entirely by torchlight.

There’s also an optional CRT mode if you like your horror with a bit of retro grime. I wanted to aim for an Amiga/Archimedes/256 colour palette feel.

It’s a solo project, just released on Steam, with macOS also supported. Originally I’d planned it for Android/iOS, but they’re actually proving the most challenging to release! The game works on both. If you wish to try the Android version (Ad supported, but currently in test mode), please use the following links:

Google Play joining link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.embermaze.descent

Join Android test on the web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.embermaze.descent

I'll update again with iOS links when it's up and running on the App Store.

If this sounds like your sort of horrible evening, please take a look. I really appreciate it!

Making a survival game with my girlfriend!

We've been working on this for 2 years, and we're still having a blast making it. I'm the developer and she's the artist, while we both work on game design, plus an external sound design/composer.

The twist of the game is that you have to survive for 400,000 years, by using a cryostasis machine allowing you to sleep for a looooong time. The planet has evolved once you wake up, and some of your actions can affect the way it changes.

We have a playable demo for the Survival Crafting Steam fest happening this week! Feel free to give it a go, every feedback is appreciated!

This is The Shovelguard, one of the bosses we've been working on for The Rusted. Getting his size and weight to come through during actual gameplay was the important part for us. This is how he's looking in motion now.

After one year of development, I'm incredibly happy to finally have the Trials of Liberation DEMO live on Steam!

What started as a simple idea grew into something much bigger than I originally expected.

The demo is finally available for FREE on Steam!

I'd love to hear what you think! Whether it's the puzzles, the progression, the visuals, or anything else, feedback is always welcome.

Play the Demo

And if you enjoy it, adding the game to your wishlist would mean a lot!

We just launched a FREE DEMO for our game "Champion of Lore" on Steam!

We made it to the starting line! After years of development, endless tweaking, and all the indie sacrifices, the first public demo for Champion of Lore is officially playable on Steam.

It’s a tactical deckbuilder where positioning on a hex grid matters just as much as the cards in your hand. You join Kanna and Sayri on a mythic journey to preserve ancient Knowledge against a Corruption that slowly eats away at the battlefield.

Bringing this universe from rough sketches to a live playable experience is a massive milestone for our small team, and we couldn't be prouder to share it with you today.

👉 Play the Demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4046650/Champion_of_Lore/

If you enjoy tactical card games, mythic lore, or just want to support an indie dream, giving the demo a spin and adding us to your Steam Wishlist would mean everything to us!

We’d love to hear your feedback. See you on the grid!

Hey guys!

So me and my friends are making a two player anomaly horror game! Where you and your partner won't see the same thing. Communicate to move forward!

The anomalies are more than 300, randomized and not just "a poster is different" the anomalies are extremely scary and well built to make the fun extremely fun.

As an indie game, the game is also well optimized.

If you play games like these, or just want to support us,

Wishlist "Did you see that?" on Steam!

We were expecting a few visitors...

Instead, they decided to invade the entire shop. 😂

Our customer AI is still a work in progress, but at least we know one thing:

They REALLY want those monsters. 👾
