I’ve been building a series called Rewired Archive, where I take old films and completely reconstruct their visual rhythm in After Effects around a DJ set.

This is #003 — Astro Monster, using footage from Ishirō Honda’s Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965).

The whole 55-minute visual piece is synchronized to the mix using cuts, time remapping, looping, displacement, glitches and signal-style disruptions. Rather than illustrating the music, I try to make the original film behave like another instrument in the set.

The DJ mix is done in Traktor, then the visual structure is built in After Effects.

Hello all, I just wanted to share with you this podcast/label I started 2 years ago. It's a project that is dedicated to share dark electronic music and underground artists from Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Our podcasts are DJ style mixes that feature industrial music, darkwave, techno, ebm, witch house, etc. We are on Youtube, Soundcloud and Bandcamp and we post updates on Instagram too.
