Sharing Advice I started my internship with no experience but finished it being recognized as the best intern in our group, AMA!

when I wrapped up my internship last week, my boss has reached out and told me himself that I was the best intern he had. it felt surreal knowing i entered the internship having no experience or knowledge about the role and industry i worked in.

this helped me get a strong recommendation from him on linkedin, him willingly giving his contact to be a reference in my next applications, and was asked to be back once the opportunity arises again.

i know there are many fellow students out there that are struggling in landing an internship or are currently in one wanting to be recognized like i had, so i thought i’d share some advice with everyone :)

ask me anything!

Questions Only 300 Hours of Required Internship but Company Requires 600 Hours

Hello! I am a fourth-year BS Psychology student sa PUP. We are required to do 300 hours of industrial internship and currently I have already received a job offer from a FMCG.

I made a lot of effort para makapasa sa interview since it's one of my dream companies and ngayon need nalang pirmahan yung contract. However, namali pala ako ng calculation kung kailan matatapos yung internship, and looking at the calendar mukhang lalagpas yung internship sa end of semester. I am worried lang na I might encounter a problem when it comes to the evaluation needed para sa grades ko sa OJT kasi nga hindi pa tapos yung number of hours na required ni company.

  1. Is it possible for the company to give their evaluation even though di ko pa natatapos yung 600 hours na nirequire nila?

  2. Will there be a problem sa MOA and grades if 300 hours lang yung required for our course subject pero 600 hours yung nirequire ni company?

I really want to become an intern for this company since ang daming good reviews about sakanila and willing naman ako to finish 600 hours. Pero currently I am confused pagdating sa mga requirements since hindi parin kami minimeet ng prof namin. And worst of all di pa siya responsive sa messages namin.

I decided to apply early na rin kasi I have heard from other people na some companies take a long time to review applications. I hope to receive helpful responses that can guide mee.

Other Small companies that accepts interns

I don’t know if this is a right subreddit for this, but I am currently 3rd year Marketing Management student and has a subject (Feasibility Study) and I need companies (small or medium) that I can conduct surveys with about accepting student interns. If willing to spend for 5 mins answering questions on the survey, I can send the details in DMs. All results will be for research purposes only. Thank you very much.

Other Help me look for OJT companies please

Hi! 4th year BSIT student here from QC, and currently looking for companies where I can apply for OJT/internship. Preferably sana yung may allowance, kahit hindi kalakihan, since maliit lang din yung allowance na nabibigay sa akin ng parents ko and I also need to consider my daily transportation and food expenses.

I also want to be honest about my skills. Hindi ako marunong mag-code and hindi rin ako confident sa pag-aayos/troubleshoot ng computers. My stronger skills are more on documentation, creating documents/reports, and UI/UX design. Sa UI design naman, sakto lang din ako—not an expert, but I can use Figma and create basic interfaces.

So I’m wondering, may alam ba kayong companies around QC/Metro Manila na tumatanggap ng OJT students?

And if mag OJT ba ako sa mga BPO companies ano po usually yung mga ginagawa doon?

Any recommendations, company names, application tips, or personal experiences would be really appreciated. Thank you! 🙏

Questions Any company recommendations for Human Resources (HR) Internship/OJT?

Hello! I’m a 4th-year BS Psychology student looking for a Human Resources internship for next semester, starting January or February 2027. I’m open to different areas of HR (e.g., Recruitment, Learning & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, etc.), so I’d love to hear your recommendations for companies with good HR internship opportunities and potential for absorption.

I’m particularly interested in large companies/MNCs and FMCGs. I know these can be quite competitive and difficult to get into, but I’m also open to companies from other industries!

I’m hoping to find an internship where I can gain meaningful, hands-on HR experience and really learn from the team, so I’d appreciate recommendations based on your own experiences.

Preferably around Taguig, Makati, BGC, or nearby areas, and if possible, with an internship allowance 🥹

Thank you!

Questions Reaching out to a company that rejected me

Hello! I hope someone can offer their opinions and insights because this is my first time handling something like this. Talagang adulting phase na ako 😅

So I applied to this startup company and I was accepted at first. Pero I asked the HR if I can be given 2 days before I can accept their offer because I am communicating with the other company that I accepted the offer from. They agreed naman, but on the 2nd day, they rejected me na for the position. I thanked them naman and hoping for a future opportunity in the future.

But because I accepted another company's offer (let's call it company B), and it's quite a big opportunity for me, after ko lang nalaman na they wouldn't be able to fulfill the 486-hour mark for my OJT course when I computed it and kulang pa ng 1 month.

Ayaw ko rin naman pakawalan kasi sayang yung opportunity. So i planned to take two internships nalang. After my internship kay company B, i'll be interning in another company to fulfill the hours. And I am planning na sana kay startup company ko magagawa 'to.

So my question is, knowing na I got accepted naman sa startup company at first pero binawi 2 days later, would it be appropriate to contact the startup company if they can accept me as an intern to fulfill my OJT?

Willing naman ako mag more than 1 month kasi nagustuhan ko rin yung startup company, sadyang 'di ko lang ineexpect na matatanggap ako kay company B and they're quite big din so it's a really good opportunity for me.

Tyia!

Questions Big 4 Firms

Hello mga Ates and Kuyas working in the Big 4!

I’ve been overthinking life lately.

Anyone here po na may same situation sa akin before Would really appreciate po any advice.

Questions Internship recommendations for an IT student?

Hello. As the title says, I'm a BSIT student currently looking for internship related to Information Technology as an academic requirement. I've completed my first 400 hour internship from KMC Solutions as an IT/OSS Intern. It was a paid internship. I've tried applying for them again but I have yet to receive a reply from them. I've also applied to other companies at Indeed, Jobstreet, LinkedIn and I've even tried sending emails to their HR directly for internship but I've also yet to receive a reply from them.

I'm looking for internships (especially paid internships) at the moment. I am also looking for BPO companies to apply for internship. I'm avoiding any positions that require any coding skills/knowledge (I don't know how to code). I live in Taguig, so my preferred locations would be Taguig, Pasay, and Makati. However, I am fine working anywhere within NCR. I am also okay working onsite.

I am also willing to provide a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Questions I’m planning to open my startup business to interns. What’s the usual process?

Hello! I’m thinking about opening my business to accepting OJTs, though hindi ako sure if ano bang mga requirements. We are registered with DTI and BIR, pero wala akong physical location since we are focused on online services (digital marketing/web development/graphic design).

Baka may nakakaalam dito paano yung usual process and requirements? Or si school na ba bahala mag-list non. Also baka may naghahanap rin dito ng internship na work from home and with allowance (for internet), feel free to hmu. Thank you!

Edit: this is for school-mandated internship. for voluntary internship, unfortunately I don’t have a capacity yet to hire voluntary interns since starting palang and limited pa yung budget. pero if you’re okay with unpaid internship, lmk. maybe we can work something out.

Questions 1st Year UST Financial Management — How to break into MBB Consulting / Global Bulge Bracket Banks (JPM/GS) Manila for M7 MBA exit?

Hey guys, I’m currently a freshman taking up Financial Management at UST. My long-term goal is to work in high finance (Private Credit/Infrastructure PE) on Wall Street.
To get there, I know I need a prestigious pre-MBA profile to get into an M7 business school (Harvard/Wharton). My current strategy is to target McKinsey, BCG, Bain (MBB), or global front-office/regional roles at J.P. Morgan or Goldman Sachs here in Manila right after graduation.
Since UST is generally a non-target school for these specific elite firms compared to UP/Ateneo, what can I do starting today to maximize my chances?
Looking for advice on:Any advice from alumni or people currently at these firms would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I was just wondering if its possible to do a remote internship while balancing school?

I don’t know how strict these companies are or if it’s better to only take internships during summer or Christmas breaks.

I’d love to hear any advice as an incoming 2nd year who wants experience.

Questions What do you do kapag wala kang task as an intern?

I’m an intern in accounting department and it just bothers me na wala akong ginagawa for the first half of my shift. And if meron naman, mabilis ko lang siya matapos. I understand naman na they won’t give me long and heavy tasks pero kasi I’m anxious lang kapag nagcecellphone lang ako or move move lang ng mouse hahaha. I’m also afraid to interrupt people since tutok sila sa work nila and super busy kasi malapit na audit season. I know it’s a bad impression not to ask for any task pero feel ko kasi ang burden sa time nila since tuturuan pa nila ako. OA sa overthink 😆 Pero I’m only one week in so I’m still adjusting to the process and environment. What do you usually do kapag walang binibigay sayong gawain?
