Questions Internship while balancing school

Hi! I was just wondering if its possible to do a remote internship while balancing school?

I don’t know how strict these companies are or if it’s better to only take internships during summer or Christmas breaks.

I’d love to hear any advice as an incoming 2nd year who wants experience.

Depends on the task. For me, no need for any meetings and i just had to do tasks and reach a quota. They are able to track if I was working or not because they can see my communication to clients.

Yes, it was doable for me because I always had my laptop and our campus has stable wifi with free computers to use. All confidential data are done on my phone while nonconfi data are done in campus computer.

May I ask how you were able to do onsite while attending classes? Were you able to have a flexible schedule for your internship?

aside from constantly commuting back and forth (for when I had F2F classes), I just discussed it with my manager and provided reassurance that I can still fulfill my internship tasks while balancing my classes.

i’m currently doing my internship atm. in my experience, majority of companies are lenient naman when it comes to scheduling since they know that u have classes (esp if voluntary internship). in my case, my internship takes place on a hybrid set up, while my classes takes place from Tuesday-Friday. i just communicated with my supervisor regarding my schedule. sometimes, i would just report to the office half day after my classes (if for instance my onsite work sched clashes with my onsite class sched). then during the times when my classes are held online, i would take those online classes in the office.

also, most internships base on hours instead of days. so as long as u can complete ur required hours (for instance 300 hrs), before ur stated completion date, then ur good.
