I'm thinking about getting a captive bred specimen when I have the resources for it. I've been doing research and putting doing a care sheet for me to look back on and update when needed, so any input would be appreciated.

Mint Leg Centipede

Scientific Name: Scolopendra sp. ‘Mint Leg’

Lifespan: 3-10 years

Size: 6-8 inches

Enclosure Type: Terrestrial setup, Acrylic or Plastic container

Enclosure Size: 2x’s the centipede’s length for horizontal space, 1x for Width and Height

Enclosure Setup: 1. Fill the enclosure to about half the centipede’s length 2. Multiple Cork Hides 3. Place Decor (Fake/Live plants\*, Cork bark, Branches, Leaf Litter, Sphagnum Moss) 4. Water Bowl

Substrate Options\*: Any mixture of sand, peat moss, topsoil, and gravel

Temp\* 65-74\*F

Humidity: Lightly damp bottom layer of substrate with a water dish with a moist side with moss    

Food: Gut-loaded crickets, mealworms, hornworms, feeder anoles, fence lizards, mice, roaches, uncooked salmon, trout, shrimp, chicken breast, and turkey\* Fruits,\*

Feeding Schedule\*

Pedelings: Once a week

Adults: Once Every Couple Weeks

Cleaning: Remove any uneaten food items, Spot clean Regularly, Springtails can be helpful

Notes: Cocofiber can cause impaction, so avoid that and similar substrates; remove fat from raw meat; base feedings off the plumpness of the body, Feed mice in moderation, If/when using fake plants best go with plastic and not fabric, Use non-acidic fruit, Make sure Temps don’t go over Low 70’s or Under 65\*F,

Looking for Simandoa conserfariam breeders in the northeastern US but everyone I can find is either on the west coast or has a bad reputation (wormman)

Currently looking at The Roach Ranch but they are out of stock and idk when they will go back in stock!

I've had my BDFB for a while now. I have 5 and they are doing great in their fairly large 18 * 18 inch (45cm) enclosure.

They do use the space but there probably is room for another critter in there. However, I dont want to cause the little fellas any distress or issues.

I have people say dessert hairy scorpions can cohab but id like to hear people's real world experience of that. I have heard velvet ants can too but they are basically impossible to get here in the UK.

I love spiders, millipedes, roaches and ants

Isopods are overrated

I currently use half peat moss and half organic topsoil but it doesn’t hold humidity very well

I own a curly hair tarantula and a asain forest scorpion and i love them so far, i set up another enclosure and i really wanted to get african millipedes but they are out of budget. Idk how many gallons my enclosure is but it is 13 in tall, 16 in width and 24 in length. I have a drainage layer at the bottom with around 5 inches of coconut fiber on top. If anyone has some ideas of what pets could live comfortably in here i would appreciate it! Thanks
