Not sure what to do, I don’t think anybody’s going to take it since it’s been getting rained on all day and most of it is essentially trash (anybody want a soggy, stained twin mattress??). Asked a couple neighbors and nobody knows who left it. It’s also blocking the sidewalk and looks like I put it out there since it’s directly outside my place.

I was walking by the tennis courts on Centre Street at John W. Murphy Square today and I saw 4 people publicly drinking and doing drugs at 3 o clock in the afternoon while people pushed strollers nearby. My friend told me it started with 1 lady with a red suitcase and now all 4 of them live there now?

Diabolical, someone’s on the loose

Does anyone know what’s going on on Jamaica Way? My partner was driving home from the 7/11 and said he passed ~ 15 cop cars and two ambulances with lights on no sirens between Pond Street and the Arborway traffic circle. I couldn’t find anything on here or when doing a google search and we’re curious what’s going on out there.

Hi there! I live locally in Boston with my partner and we are looking to upgrade to a apartment with more space. We have an opportunity to live in Jamaica Plain about a nine minute walk from the pond. I went by yesterday morning and went for a run to see how it compared to my normal running route, which is through a different part of the emerald necklace.

I was very disappointed in the amount of wildlife that I encountered. Normally on my runs through the Backbay Fens I see a ton of ducks, geese, at least one or two herons, some turtles, rabbits… and in the early hours sometimes raccoons scuttling back home for the day.

On my run around the pond in JP I saw two ducks. That was it. While not a dealbreaker, it made me sad to think about leaving my apartment, even though it’s tiny.

I’m curious to know if that was just a fluke or if that is typical for the area due to the amount of humans around the ponds at all hours? Maybe it’s just less popular for the animals?
