Hey guys,
I’m about to order a lift setup for my 2023 Jeep Gladiator Sport S Max Tow and wanted to get some feedback from people who have experience building these trucks.
I’m planning on running 35x11.5R17 tires, so nothing too crazy. My main priority is keeping the truck as functional as possible for towing while gaining around 2.5" of lift.
I originally planned on keeping the factory Max Tow rear springs because I’m really happy with how they handle my trailer. I understand that lifting the truck and going to 35s will affect towing performance, but I don't want to unnecessarily soften the rear suspension or lose the loaded characteristics of the Max Tow springs.
Since most complete lift kits replace the rear coils, I decided to put together my own setup:
• Front coils: TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Coil Springs – 1872100
• Front shocks: Bilstein 5100, 2–3" lift – 33-305219
• Rear shocks: Bilstein 5100, 0–1" lift – 33-304854
• Rear lift: ICON 1.38" Rear Coil Spacer Kit – 22065, retaining the factory Max Tow rear coils
• Front lower control arms: TeraFlex Sport, 1.5–3.5" lift – 1253000
• Front track bar: TeraFlex HD Forged Adjustable Track Bar, 0–6" lift – 1753420
• Sway-bar disconnects: JKS Quicker Disconnects, 2.5–6" lift – 2033
Before I order everything, I'd appreciate another set of eyes on the setup.
Anything I'm missing for proper suspension geometry at roughly 2.5" of front lift? I'm especially interested in caster, bump-stop requirements, brake-line/ABS-wire clearance, driveshaft angles, sway-bar geometry and whether the rear shock length is appropriate with the 1.38" spacer.
I'm not building a rock crawler. The truck sees mostly highway, towing and normal driving with some trails/off-road use. My goal is a reliable, good-handling setup on 35x11.5s without sacrificing the Max Tow characteristics more than necessary.
If anyone has built something similar while retaining the Max Tow rear coils, I'd really appreciate your experience or suggestions.
Thanks!
