Which GLP-1 Additive is Best? A Complete Breakdown of B12, L-Carnitine, and More

With compounded GLP-1 formulations becoming more common, I've noticed a lot of people asking about the additives in their prescriptions. Why does one person get methylcobalamin while another gets L-carnitine or NAD+?

Now that there are so many options available, I wanted to share a detailed guide I put together explaining what each additive actually does:

  • B12 (Methylcobalamin vs Cyanocobalamin) – prevents deficiency, supports energy
  • L-Carnitine – helps with fat metabolism and exercise tolerance
  • Glycine – calms nausea and supports digestion
  • Niacinamide (B3) – metabolic support without flushing
  • Pyridoxine (B6) – mood stability and protein metabolism

The article also covers how providers actually choose which additive to include based on your symptoms, labs, and treatment goals.

Full breakdown here: https://joinmochi.com/blogs/which-additive-is-best-for-you-glp-1-additives-explained-b12-l-carnitine-nad-and-more

Hope this helps anyone trying to understand their formula better!

No Consistent Support Team

After 3 weeks of being a Mochi, I had my provider switched. I asked support about this and they said they matched me with someone who is a better fit. I thought the first consult was great. Both providers specialize in weight loss and I have 30lbs to lose. I’m not a complicated case. Whatever.

This new provider switched my additive without consulting me when refilling my prescription. I asked them why they did that without my consent and she said she upped the dose but left the additive the same. I looked again and it was swapped to the correct additive. I immediately switched providers because I don’t like my medication being changed without consent or being gaslit about it.

I asked support about this and they basically said, “sorry you’re frustrated, let us know if you need anything.” I pressed them about it multiple times and they said that they would get back to me with a response in 24-48 business hours. That was 10 days ago and I’ve heard nothing.

I also waited a month to get an appointment with a dietician for it to be cancelled the day before. When I complained, they found another for the same time. The appointment went well, but then that person (or the app, idk) cancelled the follow up appointment.

I’m feeling frustrated and don’t feel like I’m getting a service with my membership fee. My husband is using Embody for much cheaper. Has anyone experienced terrible care with their support team? I’m thinking about switching.

Anyone reach goal then taper down

I was on 13.5mg when I hit goal. Stayed on that for a few weeks and now I’m slowly tapering down weekly and I’m currently on 6.0mg and will probably go to 4.5mg tomorrow. I’ve been feeling good. No food noise and weight has stayed the same. I do want to get off of it eventually and I’m having surgery 9/16 so I need to stop a week before anyways so I think I’ll make 9/8 my last shot. Or I’ll just finish off what I have in the vials at the lowest dose. Anyone have success tapering off?

Still more expensive

Even with referral credits it is still more expensive for the same exact pharmacy (Boudreaux Glycine Tirzepatide) than PreventiveMD.
Because you still also have to pay a membership fee with Mochi and hussle referral codes that flood this Reddit page.

Switched Providers

I switched providers after my husband had a great experience with one. Do I need to make another appointment or wait until I'm ready for a dose change?

Provider barely responding

Are the doctors who work with Mochi doing this as a side gig? I really like who I was initially paired with, but it takes her at least 4 days to get back to my messages and it is getting frustrating. She’s also hard to book with for the video visits. I get The feeling this is maybe a side thing? But still, is there no Mochi oversight on provider responsiveness in the app?

Has anyone switched providers to get a better response time back for messages?

Suspicious company history + suspicious "Dr" Maya Ahmad

Hi - i was in on the brink of signing up for Mochi yesterday and then fell into a black hole on TikTok where people are comparing Maya Ahmad, the founder/ceo, as a quasi elizabeth holmes

apparently she never graduated from medical school albeit she did physically attend. she, consequently, has never sat for boards.

there's also connections to Mochi being a legal parent to some other GLP-1 pharmacies...

Customer service also seems to be bad. I saw a few people stating how they've obtained counsel because of how the poor customer service and inability to reach a mochi health provider left them abandoned without oversight.

can anyone share stories or something similar? have you heard of this?

Tirezepatide delivered hot in the mochi tube

Just received my shipment and the tube was hit to the touch, the ice packs were hot and so was the medication. I called to report this and I had to cancel my membership late last week due to financial constraints and they are telling me that they can’t replace it without a membership active?! Are you kidding me right now?!
That’s almost $200 of medication that I obviously had an active membership when it was ordered and processed. This is horrible customer service and putting a patients health at risk!
