The first Kamen Rider I saw was Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, and Power Rangers was the first tokusatsu I saw. Kamen Rider Ryuki was the second Japanese and Heisei Rider I saw.

In Xtreme Vanguard Bataar, a Chinese toku miniseries, Masahiro Inoue plays a guest role as Wang Xiaoming (Dark Bataar) . His character is essentially just his irl self, making meta jokes and references, including frequent references to Kamen Rider Decade.

Some ideas for what could happen in Final stage
- New Gore nightmare as the main villain, or a returning Gore from the final arc
- Ghost final stage deal where the side cast gets the basic forms of Zeztz to transform into and fight together
- Sieg shows up mid play because Nem summoned him like a stand lol
- New repaint of either AgenDream or the Dualmare forms (i have a feeling it will be Orderm ngl)
Whats your predictions?

It’s a mundane thing, but I find them interesting. A random artifact of changes that may have happened a little at the last minute.
Two examples that come to mind for me are:
The Ghost Driver producing yellow lights for Tutunkhamun despite the Eyecon and Damashii being teal
The Zeztz Driver producing blue lights for Shock despite the Capsem and associated lord being red and yellow

Sorry for the Hiatus! I haven't stopped watching Toku! I just have been too busy to put my thoughts down on it! I have tons of reviews to write including one on Daimajin Kanon I am posting on r/toku soon after this! Anyways, let's double up and give you my thoughts on Fuuto PI and it's accompanying movie!
When I finished Kamen Rider W, I felt like I hadn't quite had enough of Shotaro and Philip yet. I felt like Shotaro particularly could still use some development. He holds lots of baggage that I don't think he has completely reconciled with. Fuuto PI seems like it was made for me. A show where we get to focus on Shotaro and a new love interest. PLUS we get a movie about the Chief (who I wanted to know more about) Yet I still feel like Fuuto PI still doesn't quite live up to it's potential. Luckily it nails what I like about Kamen Rider W the most, the characters.
I love Tokime. I have seen posts absolutely bashing her and others raving about her. I fall into the later camp. I was afraid of what adding another character to the main group would do to the dynamic and it thankfully created tension! I loved seeing Philip get jealous over Tokime, who so easily gets close to Shotaro (The boy love revelation at the end of that episode was hilarious) It helps that Tokime is very much a grey area in morals. She is a criminal but isn't beyond saving, having Shotaro take her under his wing, is a great way to explore his character. The romantic tension between them is great but never takes away from the story. She never feels like dead-weight or overly reliant on Shotaro and the rest of the cast. She is very capable and compliments the team dynamic well. Her amnesia story mirrors that of Philip and they bond over it. I have nothing bad to say about her. I get that people might not like the fan-service she often provides, but I don't really care because she has substance as a character. Philip is a bit side-lined in terms of character growth in this show (I guess to make up for Shotaro's side lining at the end of W LOL) but I like how in sync he and Shotaro are, even when they clash and disagree. The show highlights how much closer they've become and you love to see it. I especially like seeing Philip's reaction to Shotaro getting hurt. He lashed out at everyone and everything because Shotaro IS his everything. You can tell these two are inseparable and Fuuto PI had some great episodes and mysteries (Specifically the one about the Fox Wedding) that show off their teamwork perfectly. I Just wish we had a little more character growth for Philip to exhibit throughout the anime. Shotaro is the best part of this show. You can tell that he has matured... However, he still has the same kind-hearted and "half-boiled" outlook. Having him still talk about saving cats and taking odd jobs for the people of Fuuto even as he has grown older, shows his outlook stays hardened. Having Tokime be an apprentice for Shotaro was a great way to explore his ideals and character. He bounces off Tokime wonderfully and having her watch him struggle with his idealisitc world view... and somehow making it work, was wonderful. you can see Shotaro become the man worthy of the hat and Fuuto PI excells at finding ways to challenge him at every turn.
I LOVED seeing Santa and Watcherman again! I feel like one thing this show did well was make Fuuto a central character again. Without going into the overall plot just yet, I love that they weaved normal everyday people and their problems into the plot itself. Where as W sorta became the Sonozaki show at the end, Fuuto PI has the villains conflict with the people of Fuuto constantly. That definitely helped keep me invested! Am I missing something? Oh, right! Akiko and Terui return as well... they don't do much sadly. Although, Akiko is WAY more tolerable here? I was afraid they would use the anime to extend her gags and do way too much with her, but they don't! I actually like her character more here because she does a better job at being the relief the cast needs. Admittedly I was a little harsh on saying she doesn't do much. She does have some great scenes with Tokime and helping her understand Shotaro and Philip as people. Terui actually does nothing though. He is combat help and I love that he marries Akiko, making that special cannon is great. I did like seeing the cops return too, even if it wasn't for anything important. I just feel like they closed the lid on Terui's character growth and he has become stagnant. I thought they would have his once grey morals encourage Tokime or have them bond in someway... but he ends up kinda not doing much of anything.
Yukiji Bando and Shadow Fuuto are really cool villains/concepts. The brutality that Yukiji and his band of dopants bring to the table don't really sell me on how dangerous they are. I feel like the violence often could be used a bit more. As a Sienen manga, I thought it would be more violent and leverage that in the plot... and it doesn't. Tokime's mystery and connection to Shadow Fuuto and Yukiji are pretty compelling in concept. I like that Yukiji has normal residents of Fuuto do his biding as he builds Shadow Fuuto from the inside out. The best episodes showing this is the Fox Wedding and the one about the Mechanic. What Fuuto PI does best is show how the villains influence destroy the lives of everyday people. Fuuto as a whole is in danger with Yukiji Bando around. Fights with the Road/Alcohol/Reactor dopants weren't just fun because they had spectacle that anime allows for, but because the everyday people surrounding the battle were well realized. Sadly we don't properly meet Yukiji until pretty far into the anime and we don't get enough of him afterwards. I feel like the cast of villains all have cool powers and designs... but that's it. They are not anywhere near as compelling at the Sonozaki family or even the NecroOver Squad. Maybe it's because the anime only covers a portion of the manga but still, the great characterization is saved for the main cast and not the villains. That REALLY hindered the overall plot and anime for me.
The Skull movie was PEAK. It was EXACTLY what I wanted! I wanted to know more about Shotaro and the Chiefs relationship and how they came to be. This gave me that while also giving me a FANTASTIC character moment between Shotaro and Tokime. The animation was great and the retelling of the events leading up to the very beginning of Kamen Rider W was SO GOOD! This was probably my favorite part of the watch. Seeing the full intro of Fang and the fight with the Ocean Dopant was a treat. I was hooked and had a huge smile on my face by the end of it. This movie is close to a 10/10 for me in a vacuum.
My last bit of glaze for Fuuto PI is that I think they did a good job in leveraging the strengths of having this be an anime/manga. The villain and the fights have such trippy and rule breaking abilities that would be hard to capture in live-action. While I still prefer the tactile feel tokusatsu shows have, I think they couldn't have told the same story if it was live-action.
Overall I liked Fuuto PI. I think it did a lot right, but could not reach the heights that Kamen Rider W reached. However it did give me what I wanted, which was more Shotaro character growth! I will eventually get to the manga because I know this is only a taste of the story as a whole. What they gave us in animated form was still a solid watch. If you liked W then take it upon yourself to watch this. It will scratch that Kamen Rider W itch, but don't expect it to do much more than that. I give Fuuto PI a solid 7. Though this was my FIRST Kamen Rider review after my break. I wonder what my NEXT Kamen Rider Review will be for... we still have some things to watch before I take on Kamen Rider OOO!
