I’m a 28F and honestly starting to feel like dating in Kamloops is a dead end. Apps aren’t working for me matches are fine, but conversations just fizzle out before we even meet, or we meet and there’s zero chemistry. It’s starting to feel like a numbers game with diminishing returns.

I'm seeing a growing push from online commenters suggesting that the Centre for the Arts project be converted into parking + the new RCMP building. It is a terrible idea and anyone the least bit responsible knows it. But there's lots of candidates courting this crowd, notice platform buzzwords like promising a "thorough review" or "refocusing on needs vs wants".

Looks like Ray is running for Mayor again. Likely won't win but now there are 4 vying for Mayor so there could be another vote split allowing RHJ to retain his spot. Question to me now becomes is will Dever's slate draw votes away form RHJ or will her and O'Reilly split the vote again. we don't have 3 similar councilors running for mayor as we did in '22 but I think the risk remains the same here.

I'm not a member but the other day, my FB algorithm fed me a post where someone on it made mention about how a deer was struck by a vehicle when it attempted to cross Westsyde Rd. It mentioned how other deer had surrounded it, mourning understandably, and could drivers just be cautious of this family, still so close to the busy road?

And just how do you think this went over??

Some gross jokes from the kinds of chuds you would expect (and MY GOD, is Kamloops home to too many), but more disturbingly, miserable comments from aging women enraged that they shouldn't have to alter their driving habits for any reason, including wildlife that might wander onto our streets. The lack of empathy was utterly disgusting. Am I REALLY surrounded by this many sh*tty people?? WTF??

So yeah, good job Zuck and Meta!! You guys are CRUSHING IT, as they like to say. (And by crushing it, I mean aiding and abetting the tearing of the social fabric with the help of bad faith foreign actors, China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea to name a few.)

There are days when I just wish the gov't would step in and say, "Sorry kids (Canadian citizens), no more social media for you. You had the chance to use it wisely but, instead, decided to use it as a juvenile excuse to spit vitriol at online randos (ex: Don't you DARE make the suggestion that the oil and gas industry is in any way bad/suggest I get vaccinated/tax me/spend my tax dollars on ballet/make me eat my vegetables), join cuckoo-for-Cocoa Puffs far right wing causes and show off smiling pictures of your young kids that ANYONE (Yikes!!) can see.

This isn't going to happen, because that would show the kind of leadership that doesn't exist anymore for fear that the lawyers will come after them (which they would). And, of course, the chorus of "But muh freedumb!!!" So, I guess it's time for me to finally divorce myself from this miserable, digital dystopian nonsense for the good of my own mental health.

I was recently doing some price comparisons and noticed they have really upped their coverage map so in theory are a viable option.

An incredibly unfortunate fatality involving an Escooter. My heart goes out to his family and friends, this is incredibly tragic.

A petition has been created to end the pilot program, which I understand the sentiment, but the problem isnt the Escooter, its the lack of reinforcement on safety and protection for people who ride them. This is a legitimate form of commuter transportation but we need more safety enforcement so this does not happen again. I see alot of people riding these safely and with protection with no issues whatsoever.

If you currently ride an escooter in kamloops, please for the love of you, your family, and your friends, wear protection!!

Edit: Parents please talk to your teens about safety when riding anything, scooter, bikes, skateboards, unicycles before giving them any electric motor transportation. Or dont give it to them at all until they are smart enough to stay safe and listen to your advice.
