Thoughts

I’ve started reading the my struggle series, and my favorite parts are when he goes off on a ideological rant, such as the dead body discourse at the beginning of the book. Now someway into part two of the book he’s begun a similar rant on page 216 about what he knows, what he knows he doesn’t know, and what lies in between. I’m not totally grasping what he’s getting at and would be interested what others think.

It's great when he exits an ideological rant into something mundane and humbling, like the streaks of coffee he can't keep from running down the side of his cup, "no matter how hard I press my bottom lip against the cup."

I also like how it’s structured like he’s writing it as he’s thinking it, like with the dead body rant he’ll say maybe people are disturbed by dead bodies because it reminds them of death, but then he flips and says that can’t be true because a big part of television is violent with death and people love that, like he’s playing devils advocate while he’s writing, idk it makes it feel very intimate and human.

Definitely more thought provoking than the two pages dedicated to nutting in his pants haha
