Prestige at CGA being a better deal than Knotts gold + Parking - discussion

I'm looking to get passes for 2027 but I can't help but notice that the Prestige from California's Great America is looking like a better value. This obviously would mean driving up to the bay area and activating the pass before November 1st, but I've been thinking about visiting the park anyway.

Currently Knotts Gold is $130. Parking is an additional $90. If you want paper cup drinks, its $35. That's a total of $255.

At CGA, you can get the Prestige for $150 and this includes Preferred parking at all Six Flags parks + General parking at Knotts plus the drink plan. So you're saving $105. This would probably just cover your gas going up that way but if you wanted to go anyway (or plan on getting Unlimited dining, per below), then it'd be worth it.

You do lose out on Pass Perks, which are only valid at the home park. But you get 15% off instead of 10% off most purchases, plus you get 2 free Bring a Friend tickets, which I believe work at any park, and you get single use fast lane each visit, in addition to access to all the other parks nationwide.

Regarding meal plans, this gets more complicated. The 30 meal plan at Knotts is $180. For me, this is all I'm going to need assuming I average 2 visits a month and 1 meal each time. The 30 meal plan is not valid at other parks, so to get it with the CGA pass you'd have to upgrade to the $400 unlimited plan. This would make the CGA route cost $115 more than Knotts Gold + 30 meal plan, but obviously even cheaper if you were planning on getting Unlimited dining at Knotts, which is $500 and would make your savings even bigger. The CGA route also helps if you plan on visiting SFMM because then you could also use the meal plan there.

Lastly there's the calculus of having multiple people. CGA Gold is $76 so you're saving $23 versus the base pass or $53 versus Gold for your additional person. Obviously, there are a lot of other variables that you may or may not consider, such as if you want to visit other parks or if you need the single use fast lane.

Ultimately I'm still figuring out what I should do. If I could get CGA Prestige + add on a meal plan for knotts, that would be the best option.

Knotts with friends except i’m super scared

Upvotes

All my friends are going to Knotts soon and I don’t want to miss out. The thing is, i’m extremely scared of loops and intense rides. I usually only go to Disneyland because I enjoy all the roller coasters (not the incredicoaster because of the loop..)

Are any of the rides even comparable to Disneyland rides? And if not, is there anything I can do there while my friends go on the scary rides? It’s my first time ever going to knotts

First ride on Xcelerator since the closure and the launch was just exhilarating, I missed it so much. I was yelling "fuck ya , let's go. I miss this shit" when it got to the top hat. Goated feeling.

Buyers beware that the free bring-a-friend pass for renewing your gold pass is only for 2026. If you don't use it this year it's gone.

Here for Ghost Town Alive's last day... and Xcelerator is working just fine...

The crowd didn't scatter as usual after the national anthem played… they stuck around for the final ribbon-cutting of Founder's Day in Ghost Town... noticed a lot of YouTubers here. Sad that they're ending Ghost Town Alive early this season before Labor Day. Xcelerator and MonteZooma are running fine with 10 minute waits (in the morning) but Sky Cabin is down...

Has anybody heard about a fight at Soak City recently?

I heard some operators talking about a fight at Soak City this month, I think 2 or 3 weeks ago. And someone did recently post about cops at Soak City, so it does make sense. I haven't heard anything besides that the fight was intense (if that's the correct word).

Knotts Scary Farm Boo-fet or Fright Lane

Hi everyone!! I'm very excited for Knotts Scary Farm. We'll be visiting for the first time this year. We're going to be in town and attend on opening night (Thursday, Sept 17) and I was hoping to ask for some advice. I've read that opening night can be less crowded than other nights, but I'm still on the fence about whether we should get the Fright and Fast Lane pass. We're going to be spending the day at the park so we should get our fill of rides by then, but we would like to get through all of the mazes and the shows. The earliest Boo-fet time slot that's still open is 5:30.

So it comes down to $110/person for Admission + Boo-fet which will get us 30 min early access to 4 mazes, a buffet meal, unlimited drink refills wristband and a photo.

Or $200/person for Scary Farm Ultimate Bundle which gets us GA, Fright and Fast Lane passes, a meal, a snack and a drink.

I'd rather not have to spend the extra $90/person but if that's the only way to guarantee we'll have enough time to get through all of the mazes and see the shows then I'm willing to do it. Any input/advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Xcelerator has issues.

They were removing the second train while I was in line. It was a long wait so I left.

I spoke with the dipping dots guy. He said the operators were taking forever to load guests and the people on the second train were getting cooked in the sun. He laughed and said maybe it was the ride itself having issues.

I haven't been back to check if it was open but it was down for a while.

Any one notice more cops at soak city?

So every day I been there seems like the cops been called out to either the parking lot or inside soak city its self. I dont really see the same issue at knotts just wondering if anyone else noticed that too.

I just got hired :-)

I recently got hired at Knotts for food service! Im pretty excited!! But I’m a little worried about something that I forgot to ask about. The recruiter had asked me if there were any vacations to know about, but it slipped my mind that I have tickets for HHN on September 30th. Should I mention it during my orientation next week on the 4th?

2027 trip planning help?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions about the trip I’m planning for next summer. It will be me and my 5 year old.

We will be flying into John Wayne bc we can get a direct flight there. I am renting a car.

Day 1: fly in around 2pm. Drive to Carlsbad. Check into Hilton MarBrisa. Relax in pool, maybe go to the beach. Have an early night.

Day 2: LEGOLAND (walking distance from hotel)

Day 3: Check out of hotel. Store luggage in car
—>LEGOLAND. —-> Drive to Knotts hotel check in

Day 4: Knotts Berry Farm

Day 5: Check out of hotel—> beach day, maybe downtown Disney or Hello Kitty cafe —> Check into hotel near Disney

Day 6: DCA

Day 7: Disneyland

Day 8: Check out, go to airport, fly home.

Notes: Three hotels in 7 nights feels like a lot, but I’m trying to stay close to the theme parks so we can relax during the day & possibly take a nap.

I took a trip to the Actual Calico Ghost Town.

Had a lot of fun walking around the old mine and watching the miniature train go across the bridge. The old buildings are filled with actual vendors. I stopped in the saloon for a sandwich and a root beer.

Anything new with Xcelerator?

I’m visiting knotts for my first time next Sunday and I’m wondering if anyone has seen Xcelerator test or operate recently. The scheduled ride closure page on the website says it will open today so i have my fingers crossed because Xcelerator is very high on my bucket list! If anyone’s seen any signs of life recently let me know!

The Rock Person

My family goes often to the park. We can’t do the Calico Rapids ride, cause way too much splashing. But we have a kiddo with autism who loves the waterfall. So now we’re curious. Does anybody know what the deal is with the stone woman in the waterfall? Thanks in advance!
