HELP - sick or injured koi Question
What could this be? Burn/stress from water possibly? Old damage from birds? Something else? Koi is roughly 2 no other fish have said issue from what I can see.

Looks fine, just some extra color on the fins. Mine have that all year round. Spot on the fin here, carp pox there. It probably got more stress fom being in that net then from the color spots on the fins. Please just let your koi koi :)

He was surprisingly pretty calm when netting, behavior wise completely normal as of now, noticed extra spot coming in on his back the beginning of the summer worked it out to be possibly getting more color due to the food/him being young. Just started noticing his tail so wanted to check up before potentially putting the others in danger if it was something serious

Read some of the other comments but I really wouldn't worry about him. Indeed he doesn't look stressed at all in the net even. Fins all nice and spread out. What I really meant was people sometimes stress out their koi more by going after things that aren't there. Keep an eye on the way hey eats and swims. If his behavior doesn't radically change, let him do his thing is what I mean. I got some where the color comes and goes. If it's a young one, he might even turn completely white at some point still. Do an extra filter clean, check the water, but if you find all is well, let him koi :)

Yes exactly Lumpy but at the same time the skin should be completely white without the pink tinge that look like your eyes after a weekend bender.

That depends, koi can get sunburn for instance. On the picture, it looks like only the top part is pinkish so coukd be that. Based on the pictute, my advise would still be leave it be but keep an eye on it. Als long as it's behavior doesn't change, it's doing fine.

Hard to tell but I can tell you that individual koi are just that, some show stress very easily and others don’t.

Yeah so far everyone here said nothing to worry about, although google research says otherwise just not sure rather catch something early vs later

what ever ai google tells you. You have to question it. And then it well either stay with the comment or correct itself. Saying I apologies for the mistake. It is a complete disaster when it comes to health issues and should never be trusted

Hard to say without a clear pic, but that pattern looks more like a healed scrape than a burn, koi skin scars weird when it heals

The sensitive ones are still a sign that something may be wrong in your system. I saw this for years until I really got my filtration dialed in. Pristine water quality is the way.
