My firsts koji attempt, how is it looking?

looking great, usually i will mix it around for it to innoculate evenly.

Yes, I think it was a fail. After the full 48 it didn’t had much more growth

Yeah - you should have nice fluffy growth after 24 hours. the inoculant doesn’t look mixed well and it also seems like there’s not enough. At the same time it seems like the rice is undercooked. Are you using straight spores or pre-inoculated rice?

The spores provider says 1g of spores for 1kg of dried substrate, but I have no idea if it’s mixed with rice flour or pure spores.

As for the rice, I washed and soaked for 24h then cooked in instant pot for 3 min then 10min until valve release. It was a bit ‘mushy’ but I think it was fully cooked.

But I think I could’ve used domo more spores and just a bit more cooking time.

Also maybe my chamber was too humid, I had condensation at the top which was dripping on top of the rice.

I mean it's growing, but not very well, you dint inoculate evenly either
