The way you build in Odyssey is changing - for good. 

Starting with update 42.00, we’re rolling out the biggest change to building yet - and it’s only the first step. From now through the rest of the year, every update adds a new building skill, each one stacking on the last, taking you from everyday building to true Master Builder. This is where it starts. 

So, what's first? Say hello to Quick Build.

Quick Build replaces Guided Build as the new default way to build in Odyssey - and it's a big leap forward. Faster builds, less grind, more of your ideas brought to life.

The more you build, the faster it gets - and the more pieces you can place at once - so those huge creations come together in a fraction of the time. Give it a go and see how it clicks.

Prefer building brick by brick? That's still here too, whenever you want.

How does Quick Build work?

• The more you build, the faster it gets 
  • Building picks up speed as you go, and you'll place more pieces at once.
• Take on bigger builds
  • Large, detailed creations that used to take forever now come together in a fraction of the time.
• Brick by brick, whenever you want
  • Prefer the hands-on approach? It's still here - and it still uses resources, just faster and smoother than before.
• Built for mobile too
  • We've fine-tuned the touch controls, and you'll see the full blueprint as you build - so building on the go feels better than ever.

Your builds, in the game. 

This community is what makes Odyssey what it is - so we’re putting YOUR builds front and center. Two Creator Builds are joining Odyssey, each carrying its own Creator Crest: a mark that says this one came from a player. 

First up is a build from Haskyns’ Skyfang Marauder (August 20) - just log in, hit the pop-up and it’s yours. A second build from Spixylei’s Crown of the Abyss lands on August 27th, so there’s more on the way!

Beyond these building improvements and new tools, there’s more content and updates planned for the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more news soon! 

🏁  Build Disaster Community Challenge

You've got the parts. The only question is: how fast can YOU build?

Parts flying everywhere? Bricks tumbling off mid-build? Even better - that's the good stuff. Show us your funniest, most chaotic moment building either of the two new Creator Builds from this update. Post your clip on the LEGOFortnite subreddit and use the #LEGOBuiltDifferent flair so we can catch it, starting August 20. Let's see what you've got!

✅ LEGO® Fortnite Bug Fixes & Improvements

• You can now place snap building parts next to one another while they are still assembling 
• Exotic Rear Bumper 04 will no longer change position when you rejoin your world 
• Swivel plates now trigger audio 
• Fixed an issue where players may get stuck in the Spinjitzu animation 
• Resolved an issue where the Ninjago Island quest would spawn inside a mountain 
• Fixed an issue where dismissing a Villager didn't work as expected 
• The Kraken is now no longer partially invisible at the start of the battle
• [Brick Life] Fixed an issue where some players would get softlocked inside a gardener bush 
• [Brick Life] Players can now grab the Heart Want in the Rooftop Club on the Main Stage 
• [Brick Life] Players can now pass an order item through dialogue to NPCs 
• [Brick Life] The ability for players to change the color of light props in the Daft Punk Prop Bundle has been re-enabled
• Known Issues Being Fixed in a Future Game Update:
• Occasionally, building certain Quick Build pieces can cause the progress modal to get stuck in an unusual state. If this happens, hovering over or placing another piece or exiting and re-entering Quick Build should resolve it
• The resource info widget in the Build menu sometimes doesn't display the full list of materials needed to construct an item
• On mobile, the main tabs aren't fully visible by default - players need to scroll to see all available options
• On mobile, subtabs may disappear after opening and closing the Build menu -  switching to a different tab and back will make them reappear
• We're investigating an issue causing some players to experience unusually long teleportation loading screens
• We're investigating an issue that may prevent players from selecting a world to play in. As a temporary workaround, switching to a different game mode and back should restore world selection
• On the controller, Quick Build piece information can visually block the UI for flying controls 
• The Quick Build progress percentage and Pieces Remaining counter only update when the cursor moves to a new part

The Island Needs a Hero.

Batman Villains have stolen parts of Gotham City and stashed them on the mainland island of LEGO Fortnite Odyssey!  Somewhere out there, Henchmen are lurking in the shadows, and Batman needs your help to track them down and bring them to justice. Grab your Journal, because a brand-new set of missions and a collection of Bat-Gear are waiting for you.  

Complete Quests & Recruit Batman

Head to the all-new Gotham City locations highlighted by the Bat-Signal and complete assignments set by the Dark Knight himself. 

Check your Journal for your first set of quests. Complete quests from weeks 1, 2, 5, and 6, and you'll start unlocking rewards worthy of a hero, as well as recruiting Batman as a villager in the game update, 42.30.

Mark Your Calendars

This isn't a one-and-done drop. Knight Shift unfolds over six weeks.

DROP 1 [Sep 3 - Sep 30]

• Week 1 & 2: Complete quests, and clear out Gotham City locations to get your hands on the Batglider, Bat-Grapnel and the Batmobile.

CATCHUP WEEKS

• Week 3 & 4: Catch up on any quests & rewards you still need to complete.

DROP 2 [Oct 1 - 15]

• Week 5 & 6: Complete additional quests to earn The Bat & recruit Batman as a Villager. Make sure you’ve completed all quests to be able to recruit him.

Batman Vehicles

No trip through Odyssey is complete without the right ride. This update brings The Batmobile  to the Island. That’s not all, take to the sky with The Bat arriving October 1.

Bat-Gadgets Galore!

Every hero needs the right tools. Get your hands on:

• Batglider - Take to the skies!
• Bat Grapnel - Grapple to the rooftops or make a daring escape
• Bat-Signal - Light up the night with the iconic Bat-Signal

New Locations, New Enemies

Explore Gotham City-themed locations scattered across the Island, each packed with its own challenges and enemies to overcome.

These locations are guarded by muscle from Gotham City, two new Henchpeople joining the fight:

• Gotham Henchmen Blaster
• Gotham Henchman Slicer 

Expanding the Brick Library

LEGO Fortnite Odyssey's library of LEGO toys and bricks keeps growing, giving you new ways to build! This update adds Balloon Brick to your collection, allowing you to add vertical lift to your builds in a more seamless design. You can now adjust the Balloon Brick's power to match a Small Balloon, a Large Balloon, or anything in between. 
Also coming your way later this month: the Lift and Proximity Brick.

✅ LEGO® Fortnite Bug Fixes & Improvements

• Newly-placed activated and standard balloons will apply lift from the balloon itself rather than from their base. Already-placed balloons function as they did before.
• Wheels can now be assigned to different channels for moving and steering
• Fixed an issue where custom channel icons would not display properly if your contraption featured wheels
• Teleport times have been improved for low-end platforms and built-up worlds
  • Fixed an instance where players would get stuck on an infinite teleport screen
• Fixed an issue causing Peely Villages and other rare POIs to not spawn correctly
• Resolved a crash occurring when traveling to a bus station during the loading screen
• The visual glitch during the teleport-to-bed effect in Klom Home Potions has been resolved
• Power Centers now correctly play sound when powering wheels on a static object
• Fixed an issue that caused large white textures to appear on the world, particularly around the Storm biome 
• Fixed an issue preventing players from swiping through the main building tabs on mobile.
• Fixed an issue where bonus stamina was not properly displayed on the stamina bar 
• Fixed an issue where Oni Decor tomes were not granting all decor items 
• Fixed an issue where pressure plates and trigger plates could not attach to snap points 
• Brick Life: 
• Minifig movement no longer stutters when walking up all three flights of the airship stairs in Brick Life Homes
• Fixed player minifig jitter when walking or running on stairs
