…almost. Still gotta motorise her. She’s been an absolute nightmare to get here, and I can confidently say I am never building a Garratt again.

Question Train hubb stuck in update loop / flashing purple
I have a 60337 train that I started up after not being used for a while. It has worked flawlessly before but now it's stuck in a flashing purple light and won't pair with the remote. I can't turn the hub off either, it won't respond to any interaction with the button.
I downloaded the Powered UP-app and tried to update the hub. It connects to the phone and the updates starts immediately, but after reaching 100% it just goes back to the train control for a few seconds before starting the update again. The lights flashes in red, green and blue while updating but it returns to the flashing purple light after each update.
I've tried to reinstall the app, took out the batteries for a long time, replaced the batteries, disconnect the app between updates, but nothing helps. I would be greatful for any tips or help how to fix this issue.

Other I had a lovely time being interviewed on the AFOLs Welcome podcast! We talked about Lego Trains, L-Gauge modeling, and LGMS, among some other things. Perhaps a bit basic for the more intense Lego Train crowd, but if you like podcasts, give it a listen?

Steam Completed 1985 grail set+motorization
As mentioned previously I said I would update when I got 7715 built. Some slight mods had to be made as some parts no longer exist, and i missed out on the red train wheels from when they were part of PAB.
I'm very happy with this find, and i now have a legendary addition to my layout
(Some switches were harmed in the making of this layout)

Question Steam powered Lego?
A dangerous and silly idea maybe but has anyone rigged a Lego train to work off of a sterling engine and a candle? I think moving Lego trains without electric motors are a cool concept even a spring driven contraption would be neat

Multiple Motorized Cars on Single Train? How to sync them?
What it says in the title. I've seen videos where people say they added another motorized car for extra pulling/pushing power on heavier trains, but they never explain how. It didn't look like the motorized cars are adjacent in the examples I'd seen, so not on the same power hub (unless there's very, very long 3rd party extension cables?)
If they're not on the same hub, how are the motors synced to run at the same speed? Or is there some other wizardry involved. To my understanding Lego doesn't have a way to do this other than pushing the buttons on the controllers at the same time. I haven't found a way to do it with Lego's app either. Is it a third party app?
Please talk to me like I'm a moron. Some of the motorization explanations I've seen are "draw the rest of the owl" nonsense (not from this sub, but out in the wild). I'm a caveman playing with blocks, I just wanna make my big trains go choo choo :(

1st train build WIP; locomotive shed, signal tower & gantry crane.
Still waiting on the 3rd bag for my locomotive 😂 but the shed was built entirely from a $10 red 1lb of Legos (I need to go back and get the other one to finish it/make it taller).
Next up:
-taller walls on shed, and a roof
-crane hook & chain for gantry,
- road plates for next to rail for truck transfer from gantry
Have a good night!

What’s the best motor
what is the best motor to use that’s relatively small considering the fact it’s going inside my per Marquette 1225, my old ones runs but the train barely moves, are these alternately brand motors trustworthy? I’ve been told mouldking motors are more powerful

Question How Many Powered-Up Large Motors?
Question for more advanced builders using the Powered-Up Large motors in their locomotive.
i’m wanting to build a pair of GE Boxcabs that the Butte Anaconda and Pacific used on their short line. They had a B-B wheel arrangement, so similar to a four-axle dIesel, just a shorter wheelbase.
I was thinking building two units, one with two motors, one per bogie, with the second unit having just one motor and the other bogie unpowered so there is room for my BuWizz controller/battery.
Would this be overkill? Should I just power one unit with two motors or one bogie per boxcab.
I have only used a 9v train motor for the Hobby Train Crocodile in the past so I’m entering uncharted territory and wanted to ask the experts.
