We’ll be playing a homebrewed version of Nimble that I’ve been tinkering with, with some changes aimed at giving heroes more customisation and character-building options. I’m still actively working on it, so there may be some tweaking and playtesting of rules as we go.

The campaign premise is a knights-in-training academy, inspired in part by Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The current idea is a mostly episodic structure, with adventures broken up by roleplay and downtime back at the academy, all gradually feeding into a larger overarching plot.

About me:
I'm an experienced DM (over 9 years).
I would like to have five players for the campaign. You don't need to be a veteran, but I prefer some experience.
The campaign is my homebrew world, which I created for a fantasy book I'm writing (and have been for several long years).
I'm the head of a creative studio in an AAA-related gaming company.
I'm a fantasy lover, a medieval history buff, and a martial artist, so if it has capes, I'm in!
I'm a married father of three with a dog (so technically four as she's very much a daughter to me). I generally love dad jokes and word puns. I always mean my puns!

About the campaign:
We'll be using 5e with many homebrew elements. All the races and lore are homebrew, but for ease of use, they will all be based on edited versions of "normal" races (and all will be added to D&D Beyond).
The party is currently at level 7.

This will strike a balance between action and role-play. You will have a lot of weight on the story and direction.
Everything goes - as long as it's realistic within the logic and magic of the world. Please let me know what you'd like to try, and we'll see how to make it happen.
Death is final. Mostly. If your character dies, it'll be rare to bring them back. But you can always roll a new character.

My goal is for you to enjoy the game and story. I don't want to kill your characters. I aim to provide you with a challenge, an engaging story, and a fun and immersive experience.

Weekly sessions are held on Thursdays, most often (unless too many people are unable to join, in which case we'll try to find an alternative day for that week).
Sessions start at 21:30 +3 GMT (18:30 UTC) and are usually two and a half hours long.

We're doing video chat via the Riverside website (also for recording). I believe seeing our faces and expressions helps connect us, so I want people who are not camera-shy. No one cares how you look, what your race or color is, or whatever - be yourself (and your character), and that's great!

D&D Beyond + Foundry for combat + Discord (for text chats).

YouTube/Podcast - I record our sessions and post them on the campaign's YouTube channel, and may also stream them live later. I'm not delusional in thinking we'll be big or famous, but maybe some people will find our game fun to watch and benefit from it. So you need to be ok with it. Before we dive into lore and character creation, I'll ask you to sign a release form to allow me to upload videos featuring you from our sessions (all the other players have signed this form - it is to protect both you and me in the future).

We speak English. I'm not a native speaker, and I don't do accents very well. But I do have excellent English. The sessions will be in English. You need to be able to speak it well. Accents are fine :)

Please do not include IRL politics or agendas during sessions - These motifs are ok and might be present if they are relevant to what's going on in the session (i.e, Slavery or the Spanish Inquisition if we face a similar situation - you can use philosophical ideas obviously) - But try not to insert IRL events happening now or in recent years if possible.

Age groups - around 30 or above, please

Ensure you schedule a time for the session. This is important, as we've had people cancel frequently, leading to canceled sessions that significantly hinder story progression and immersion. Unforeseen shit can happen, of course, but please, if you apply, make sure you can commit to being available for the sessions each week.

About the world:

We'll be playing in a world called Alver on the continent of Kronland.

This is a heavily Nordic-inspired world. Imagine what the late Middle Ages and Renaissance in Europe would have looked and felt like if the Vikings had become the dominant influence rather than Christianity. At the same time, there would still be distinct kingdoms with their own cultures, fashions, and styles. Norse mythology is deeply ingrained in the world. 

The lore is inspired by Nordic mythology, but it is NOT Nordic mythology. It's a full-on pantheon and history I created. Some stuff will align and match, but much will not. 

The continent is vast, and thus, the distance between cities, villages, and civilizations is such that the world varies greatly, from areas with rare magic and supernatural elements to cosmopolitan cities with mixed races, magic, and wonder.

The game is designed to strike a balance between drama, grim humor, and epic adventure. It's not just grimdark or silly - it'll be a mix of all. You'll start small in scope, but the story is meant to go epic by the end. 

There are five playable races (with some having sub-races), which I'll share the details of later, but these are the closest "D&D" races to them in racial traits:
Menskr: Humans + Vel (homebrew variant human - with some innate self-magical potential)
Kettir: Homebrew Tabaxi
Hedlinari: Homebrew mix between Dwarfs/Gnomes/Halfings
Graari: Homebrew Goliath (with horns! lol)
Mal-Siva: Homebrew Aasimar (The only race that can use "real" magic classes like Wizards or Warlocks in my world)

This was a rhyme that man a child had read in a book about the tales of a mighty space pirate, one who had conquered and explored many a planet in his time. The book was passed around for years, decades, nearly 3 centuries of people telling the tale, and many following the clues to what they presumed was the mentioned planet. Though the news of those Explorers, Plunderers and Treasure Hunters was rarely good, word of Empire agents, Automated Traps, and many, many other threats putting an end to those sorry souls. But still, a free heart yearns for the stars and the adventure that comes with hunting the legends.

This brings us to now, aboard the Imperial Prison Work Vessel 137-56JZ. A place where, for one reason or another, you found yourself working to pay off your debt to The Empire, for whatever crime, or mistake you made. Being used to scuttle and harvest broken and abandoned ships in The Hulking Ring (think Saturns rings, made of old space ships that drift into a giant planets orbit.), working on a small crew with the express goal of salvaging metal and components. Though sometimes, sometimes there's something far, far more valuable then old junk and broken data pads, something that could set you on a whole new course, in the direction of an old childish story...

In case you can't tell, this is a very sci-fi sort of Star Wars meets Treasure Planet game, exploring dangerous planets, avoiding the law, hunting a great and powerful treasure. During this game we'll be using the Dark Matter 5.5E book to reach a certain level of tech, have no fear I own it! So you'll be able to read it to your hearts content. Our game will be run in Roll 20, using their sheets and maps, while using Discord for our calls. I am happy to answer any questions during the interview steps!

Hey there! We’re a group of five players in our early 30s or thereabouts who are looking for a DM to run the Crooked Moon campaign - although we’re open to other modules and settings as well, such as Grim Hollow or the good old Forgotten Realms (Not so much up for homebrew first time around)! As a group, not all of us have played together extensively before - some have, yet others are new - but we’ve gone through a process and one-shots to make sure we all mesh well together, enjoy each-others’ playstyles, and are all looking for the same thing (such as an extensive talk about exactly what we want to put in this post!)

So who is the right DM?

Well, for starters the right DM for this group is one who’d like to share in the collaborative storytelling experience that is D&D to the fullest - one who is as character-focused as story-focused, and can make the players’ characters feel like a true part of the world with real impact. We’re looking for somebody who’d love to work closely with each of us on background stories and character arcs throughout the campaign, and who can make good on the setups we collectively bake into them. Some narrative descriptions to set the feeling of a scene and fleshed out, real-feeling NPC are a huge plus, but the most important thing is passion for the role of DM and the game you’re running! Communication is also a must, we’re all adults and need to be able to talk to each-other!

And who are we?

As players, we are all of us dedicated and engaged people who are committed to showing up and paying attention when we play, especially given the bi-weekly nature of this setup. We’re most certainly a roleplay-heavy group who want to dive deep into the characters and story, but also put proper and full effort into engaging with the story and world - we want to make the DM feel as though their effort is both appreciated and reciprocated, they’re a player at the table too, after all. Currently we have a rough idea of the party roster (based on the Crooked Moon content), and a pretty solid idea for the dynamics we want to see - but integrating background stories into the story and world is something we’d love to do alongside the DM!

Additionally, four of us have DMed before, with at least two who have over a decade of experience - so there is a good understanding of what it takes, and what we should bring to the table as players!

Hey! I'm posting this on behalf of the GM as we're looking for 1-3 players for a Power Rangers campaign starting soon. It will be in the Essence20 system, no experience required however it's pretty easy to learn.

There is no set time or date for sessions just yet, it will be decided upon once we have our players in.

The story:

"This campaign takes place in an alternate timeline where the events of “mighty morphin’ power rangers”, “power rangers zeo”, “power rangers turbo”, and “power rangers: in space” happened but with one major change.

During the events of “Power Rangers: In space”, dark specter saw the future and what would happen if Zordon were sacrificed to cause the original Z wave. With this knowledge, he infused Lord Zedd with his own essence then shattered himself into reality. This new Zedd wave spread evil through the universe and infected every corner of it.

On Earth, the effects weren't immediately recognized by the public. Only the most vicious and brutal of humans were infected, becoming monstrous abberrations of their own evil desires. At first it was contained, and the public felt safe. Months passed but the effects of the Zedd wave started to creep up into the public eye once more.

The original virus began to spread and infect others, rapidly growing the number of the mutated. Those with anger, fear, avarice, and hate harbored deep down succumbed quickly. It spread through open wounds being touched by the infected.

The virus had a single flaw however. Those that had more good in their heart than evil could fight it off longer, even becoming immune.

The population quickly dwindled as city's filled with the Zedd, those mutated and twisted with evil.

Two years have passed since the first reports, but the world is already overrun. There are still those struggling to stay alive, but humanity is scattered.

There is hope however. A single radio transmission broadcasting as far as it can reach. The message is short but direct:

“May the power protect us. 34° 29′ 19″ N, 118° 19′ 17″ W”

Leading to Angel Grove, California."

• This campaign is a survival focused setting in a power rangers universe where you wont just be fighting monsters, but rebuilding Angel grove.
• Recruit survivors, scavenge for resources, and fight back waves of the infected.

The world is old, dangerous, and full of things that people no longer understand.

England is a land of kings, lords, monasteries, farmers, warriors, and forgotten places. Roman roads disappear into forests. Ancient burial mounds stand untouched on lonely hills. Old stones mark places whose purpose has been forgotten. Priests preach against the old ways, while in distant villages people still whisper stories of things that live beyond the edge of the firelight. And sometimes, those stories are true.

Mythic Briton is an old-school B/X-style sandbox using Old-School Essentials. The adventure focuses on exploration, folklore, myth, mystery, and the strange relationship between humanity and the supernatural. You are not legendary heroes when the game begins. You are ordinary people who have decided to step beyond the safety of civilization. Perhaps you seek wealth, fame, knowledge, faith, revenge, or simply a better life. Whatever your reason, you will need one.

Folk Horror & The Fay

The supernatural is an important part of the setting, but it isn't presented as a catalogue of fantasy monsters. The people of Mythic Briton live in a world where myth, religion, superstition, and reality overlap. Elves, spirits, witches, giants, monsters, and other beings exist in stories told around fires and in warnings passed between generations. The Church may call something a demon. A farmer may call it a spirit. A Norse settler may have an entirely different name for it. The question is, Who is right?

The Fay are particularly important to the setting. They are strange, rare, and poorly understood by humanity. Their existence is not common knowledge, and the truth behind the stories surrounding them will need to be discovered through play. Dwarves, Elves, and Halflings are not available as starting characters. They may become playable later once the setting has been established and players have had the opportunity to understand what these peoples actually are.

Old-School Play

This is an OSE / B/X style game, so expect a different approach to character power and problem solving than modern heroic fantasy. You will be expected to think creatively, make use of your equipment, investigate your surroundings, negotiate with NPCs, and consider solutions beyond simply attacking whatever is in front of you. Not every encounter is balanced for you, if something looks too dangerous, it probably is.

Character Creation

Characters are Human at the start of the campaign. Ability scores are rolled 3d6 in order:

STR → INT → WIS → DEX → CON → CHA

There are four core classes:

Fighter, Cleric, Magic-User, and Thief.

Your character should have a reason to leave their previous life behind and a reason to continue adventuring when things become dangerous. The full character creation rules, setting information, cultures, technology, faiths, folklore, and campaign expectations can be found in the Player Guide:

What I'm Looking For

I'm looking for players who enjoy exploration, mystery, improvisation, roleplaying, and discovering the world through play. You don't need to be an expert on Anglo-Saxon England or Old-School Essentials. You do need to be willing to engage with the setting, make decisions for your character, and accept that failure and occasionally death. You should be comfortable with a game where the players drive the direction of the adventure rather than following a predetermined narrative.

If you enjoy folk horror, weird folklore, ancient ruins, morally complicated situations, dangerous exploration, and the feeling that something is watching from the trees, this may be the game for you.

Hello, Hello. I am Lament, the DM of this group. So, a player had to leave due a change in his work schedule and thus just to keep the AP balance and well oiled, I am looking a player who likes to roleplay, not only with NPCs but with the players.

We are a D&D 5e/5.5e Discord server featuring a persistent game world set in the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse. You and other players play as adventurers of the Hawthorne Guild, an adventuring guild in the Sword Coast. As a persistent and shared game world, character progression and events in individual adventures persist between and outside of games, creating a living world for players and DMs to participate in the form of oneshots, multisessions and campaigns, and both text roleplay and Play-By-Post games. Play How You Want

As a player on the server, you can expect to:

• Play any number of characters starting at level 3 or level 5 (your choice)
• Create characters using almost all of the official options as well as select Unearthed Arcana and server homebrew
• Create and play either 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024 characters
• Progress your character through game sessions to experience content from level 3 to level 20
• Participate in downtime activities and text roleplay between adventures

DM How You Want

As a DM on the server, you can expect to:

• Run games for any level of play and your choice of either 5e 2014 or 5.5e 2024 games
• Participate in a shared setting of the Forgotten Realms and broader D&D multiverse by running your choice of oneshots, multisessions or campaigns, or Play-By-Post games
• Use almost all official monsters and magic items to use and award in your games, as well as server homebrew
• Gain DM rewards to progress a character at the same rate as a player, so you don't miss out on any of the fun when you play games as well
