Some old magazine cover. Every sentence is worse than the first one.
Thought of this community (because of the recent Vietnam coverage and nothing else)
I missed a great opportunity…
I saw Muse tonight at the Hollywood bowl, got in line to get a drink by myself in between sets. The line was already long and getting longer by the minute.
I look up from my phone moments before reaching the doors of their quick in/out convenience store… I lock eyes with a man in a bright green shirt and fluorescent orange hat approaching me, immediate recognition. He knows I know. In shock I mutter the only word my brain could muster:
“Hen-Henry?”
He gently places his hand on my shoulder and with a smile quietly says “hey there buddy”. With a small wave he’s gone, heading towards the back of the line. After that I don’t even know what I bought in that store, brain racing exponentially.
I exit the store with my goods, and start back towards my seat. I see the familiar orange hat again, in line for some wares in the same spot I was just at. For a fleeting moment I wondered if I should go up to him. No that moment had passed.
And then I couldn’t help but ask myself “should I have invited him into my spot in line with me?” Save him a few minutes on his journey. I put the thought out of my mind before I could dwell on it any longer, and went on my way. Big grin on my face, just happy for the ‘ships in the night’ moment.

Veteran’s Care Sucks.
I just finished the My Lai episodes on kind of a weird day - my dad who’s a marine vet has brain cancer and was recently hospitalized after a stroke and experiencing blood clots in his lungs. He was moved to a nursing home to recover temporarily, but today he was thrown out for refusing to do physical therapy and snapping when they tried to push him into it. I’ve been running a GoFundMe to help my folks out because while the government pays for some of his care it doesn’t cover everything, and we can’t prove it’s a result of his service (and to be fair, we’re in Iowa where cancer rates are skyrocketing from farm chemicals even as Republicans try to argue “who really knows what causes cancer? 😅 🤷♂️ “).
So when the guys talked about how poorly veterans were supported after Vietnam, it really hasn’t gotten much better. There is some financial support but it’s very rationed, and not much support beyond that. The VA have certainly been helpful, but there’s not much they can do when a nursing home throws out a vet with brain cancer and all the appeals are denied (more than likely because he requires more care than most of their residents).
My dad wasn’t in Vietnam, but I think poor veteran’s care is part of what led to the mistakes in Vietnam - you hire unqualified people for a “troop surge” but don’t give them the mental health care to cope with the massive stress and trauma, and many come home to grim prospects regarding housing, healthcare, etc. People become filled with anger and resentment (including American civilians at home), and that becomes vented towards “the enemy”, which increasingly became the Vietnamese people, or Muslims after 9/11, etc.
lol sorry for my rant, I’m just reflecting. 😅

It's always a good idea to fire the expensive lawyers who've been working on your case for months, and instead use a random PD. Nice work Duh-4-vid!
Idiot.

Kenneth Anger's 'Scorpio Rising' Soundtrack (1963)
’Scorpio Rising’ (1963) by Kenneth Anger is considered to be one of the first films to feature a rock and roll soundtrack. Anger's needle drops was inspired by the experience of seeing people at Coney Island, NYC playing music out of their radios. Photo: promotional flyer for an 1964 screening.

Developing Story, for the Boys. Philly pd finally get around to investing possible murders linked to famous "artist," porn producer, and possibly Epstein class connected skumbag R.C Horsch
After his Son was caught on illegal gun possesion, Horsch's property on Chew Avenue (can't make this stuff up) was searched and evidence linking the family to two missing women was uncovered from a hidden hard-drive along with a detailed confession in the supposed diary of the infamous s&m photographer. Horsch had died the previous year, painfully I might add from an embolism
But in the decades prior he had made a career in the outsider art world for his controversial photos and adult content. At least 2 books of his work were published and sold with a few celebs (rumored Charlie Sheen) owing copies.
Allegedly in his diary fucker had the nerve to refer to himself as an "empathetic serial killer"
In addition to that he was also convinced at a few different points of selling and producing methamphetamine in cali and growing weed in Maryland
Where things get weird but also not surprising
Is that for decades numerous sex workers and models complained about his behavior and the danger he presented to the cops, managers at the clubs he often recruited at all of which was ignored.
Unsubstantiated but rumors online are that he may have also been linked to the Gilgo Beach murder.
a sex worker claims to have been intimate with the convicted killer and that he he took her out to a suspicious house in Philly where she thinks she might have heard screams coming from upstairs.
Another set of rumors online from local sex workers in the area is that he may have also been linked to another local creep known as "Poconos Phil"
On top of that RC was also known to brag and claim that he had connections to powerful people because of his minor celebrity status, ties to the art world, and drug running operations
All of this may seem like farfetched speculation but when you consider the amount of access the art world can provide to individuals in both high and low stations of Society. It's ties to money laundering and drug trafficking it's very possible for someone like this to have rub shoulders with people of influence.
Someone like this could easily have dealt drugs or what have you to some rich and famous clientele then written it off as art sales.
It's also possible someone like this gets arrested once or twice by cops of the DEA and then offers to sell out some of those clients for protection or favors.
He's back room deals are not uncommon or sophisticated then people like that with an ego probably tell a few people that they have even bigger connections just to spook them and also sound a little crazy because they know that buys them an extra layer of protection.
As they say the devil mixes truth with deception
