Je viens de trouver la petite sœur de ma lampe, qui est totalement collector car cette marque est quasiment introuvable. J’ai été submergée de joie quand je l’ai trouvée… mais un peu moins quand je viens de la déballer. 😭😱
Cette petite lampe à pluie d’huile française YENNI datant de 1979, que je viens de recevoir, a manifestement fonctionné par le passé : il reste beaucoup de traces d’ancienne huile dans la vasque, la pompe et le circuit hydraulique.
En la branchant brièvement à réception, l’éclairage fonctionne parfaitement, mais la pompe ne fait absolument aucun bruit.
J’ai donc ouvert la base et découvert quelque chose que je ne comprends pas du tout.
Le câble d’alimentation venant de la prise arrive bien dans la lampe. L’un de ses conducteurs semble être raccordé à deux fils rouges/orange qui remontent dans la colonne vers l’éclairage.
En revanche, le fil bleu de l’alimentation est actuellement déconnecté et isolé à son extrémité.
Et surtout, autour de la pompe/moteur, je vois plusieurs fils qui semblent eux aussi déconnectés. Je ne vois actuellement aucune liaison électrique complète permettant à la pompe d’être alimentée !?!
C’est ce qui me laisse extrêmement perplexe : le système de pluie a clairement fonctionné autrefois, mais aujourd’hui le câblage semble avoir été volontairement débranché ou laissé au milieu d’une ancienne réparation.
Je ne sais donc pas si quelqu’un a simplement déconnecté une pompe qui fonctionnait, s’il a tenté une réparation, ou si la pompe avait une panne électrique et a été isolée pour cette raison.
Une autre chose qui me laisse perplexe, c’est que ce qui semble être le câblage électrique qui sort de la pompe et qui devrait être relié, comme j’aime à le penser, au fil bleu du secteur, n’est même pas dénudé. Il y a trois fils qui en sortent et qui ne sont pas dénudés.
Donc là, je ne comprends vraiment pas. Au secours, aidez-moi ! 😭
Je ne connais pas suffisamment (voire pas du tout !! 😇😂) l’électricité pour prendre le risque de reconnecter quoi que ce soit au hasard sur du 230 V, et je ne veux surtout pas me fier uniquement aux couleurs des fils.
Est-ce que quelqu’un connaissant les anciens appareils électriques, les petits moteurs de pompe ou éventuellement les anciennes lampes à pluie pourrait m’aider à comprendre ce câblage à partir des photos ?
J’aimerais notamment savoir ce qu’il serait possible de contrôler ou mesurer lampe débranchée, afin de déterminer l’état du moteur avant d’envisager de le remettre sous tension.
Je suis en France : alimentation 230 V / 50 Hz.
Mon objectif serait évidemment de conserver et remettre en service la pompe d’origine si elle est encore fonctionnelle.
Une petite précision : je suis atteinte de sclérose en plaques et j’ai beaucoup de mal à comprendre certaines choses et à m’exprimer. Donc je m’excuse par avance si jamais cet exposé n’est pas très clair, car mon cerveau est à peu près dans le même état que le fond de la lampe à cause de la maladie 😖😎

I have the type of shade that has the ring basically in the middle. Is there a good way to set up a base on this lamp to be able to use that type of shade? Sorry for the basic question but I got this as a birthday gift and trying to make it work. Thank you in advance!

hello!! i just bought this tiffany lamp (not entirely sure its an actual one) but the lamp shade is completely detached from the stand. is there any way to fix this? google was no help, i was told to use E6000 glue or an adhesive similar to that but i just want to know from some actual experts if that'll work :(

I have an old set of rusted lamps I’d like to repaint. My plan was to hand sand the metal, clean and then spray paint them with rustoleum metal spray paint.
Is this ok? I also saw soaking in vinegar might be an option to clean them as well. TIA!

I have a pleated lampshade (similar to this) and the styrene layer cracked. I still have the overlay and the frame (the wire around the top and bottom). It measures 4.5" diameter at the top, 11" diameter at the bottom, and the height is 8.5". It seems like the pleated part is just resting on top vs attached.

I was going to buy a styrene sheet that is 9"x48". I think I needed 35" to meet the right diameter at the bottom so hoping I can cut it to the right shape. Should I get the type with adhesive or without, since there aren't many points where the pleated part would attach? I was also going to get something like this tape to tape the wire to the styrene.

Is there anything else I'd need?

I have a Dana Lighting Milano 4400 halogen lamp that was sadly forced to the breaking point by an uncautious child of mine, snapping the grub screw that connects the boom to the axle (which is turned by the gears).

Does anyone know what size of grub screw I need to connect these two parts?

I thrifted this shade the other day and would like to find a base to place it on but I don't even know where to start looking. I googled the shade and the last pic is one from eBay that looks exactly like my shade. I have searched quite a bit but I'm having trouble finding something to work with such a large hole in the top. It's around 10" tall, 15" diameter and the hole is around 2.5". Any help or identification of what I got would be great.

I wanted to share a small project born out of necessity in my Gothenburg studio.

I recently ran into the classic problem with a vintage Fase lamp, needing to secure the glass/opaline diffuser safely, but the original plastic retaining screws are almost impossible to find intact after all these decades. They get lost, brittle, or stripped.

To solve this, I engineered and 3D printed a precision replacement screw to match the original thread profile and geometry for these iconic models (President, Péndulo, Boomerang 2000, 520, 530, etc.). Printed in a durable PLA in matte black, it threads smoothly and holds the shade snug without over-stressing the glass.

I know how frustrating missing hardware can be on these classic Spanish lamps, so I put together a few extra copies for anyone else restoring or working on their vintage Fase pieces.

J'ai obtenu une vieille lampe avec variateur

en démontant j'ai remarqué que les fils étaient branché ensemble.

( Je suppose que le variateur etait défectueux)

J'ai essayé de rebrancher celui ci mais rien y fait..

Je n'y connais pas grand chose en électricité

( Le variateur est daté de 1991 origine allemande)

Est-il possible de réparer celui ci ?

Connaissez vous les branchements a faire ?

Au pire des cas , pourrais je trouver le variateur identique ??

I need help finding a replacement socket that will turn on the light in the base on the first click, then turn on the lamp on the second click and then turn both on on the last click.

The existing socket has three screws and three wires. I assume they are hot, neutral and a switched hot to the bulb in the base.

I order a levition medium base incandescent lamp holder. 7090-M. But it only has two screws.

Can anyone tell me the name of what I am looking for?
