Help
So if key is in car (2024) defender and the car is locked via the app, how can it be opened?
Just to give you perspective, we are about 15 hours from home, on a remote Scottish island, and house keys are also in car!!!

I hate to say it, but have they any large stones on the island?

It’s definitely been in the plans, however I’m not sure bricks and a coat hanger work on these cars anymore….security would lock it down even more!

Can't you open it via the app as well? I don't have a new-fangled defender, but our Volvo allows this.

No bizarrely they apparently removed opening it but kept the closing on the app…..just thinking of child or dog was in car this is not great

I assume this was triaging the theft issues. If they can't be remotely unlocked, someone can't replicate the signal to open it.
I've heard of guys logging out and back in and having the option come back again temporarily, might be worth a try if the car isn't registering the fob in the vehicle.
Your next best option is call the nearest land rover and see if they can over the air unlock it or something.
You'll get a lot of useless comments as this is the subreddit for the vintage defenders (1985-2016). They are too busy trying to be funny to help a fellow rover owner.

Yeah, Land Rover won’t help, they have been more the useless, and left us with ‘assist’ with huge costs of 3 night in hotel, 2 x cancelled ferries and £130 taxi fare so far!
Yep I realised by the comments however we are trying every avenue we can

Its not removed. Remote App, Remote, door lock, if its locked you can unlock it.
What it does say in red at the bottom is that remote door lock may be temporarily unavailable. KEYS SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

Yeah we know keys should not be locked inside the vehicle but s@@t happens! We’ve got the temporarily unavailable bit on app

I seldom lock my 1998 Defender just so I can’t lock myself out
