Hey guys, I'm going on holiday for a week and planned to leave the car in the airport but the prices were quite expensive and I previously read that you can park on the street around the industrial sites turning right at the roundabout, does anyone know if it would be safe to leave my car there for a week?

We shot another short film in Launceston last month for the 48 Hour Film Competition. Making a scifi in the middle of winter about Tasmania being hit by a record heatwave was not fun for our poor actors who spent the day in singlests drenched in water but I reckon it came up alright! Big love to everyone who helped out, we're all amateurs so I'm so happy with what we achieved.

Random enquiry, but I’m wondering if anyone has any horses in the Launceston area who would enjoy a pat and some apples!

I grew up near a paddock with a bunch of horses and loved spending time with them. I’ve moved to Launceston recently for a really stressful job and I think I’m missing that calming energy! But I also don’t want to intrude and feed someone’s horses without their permission.

If anyone has any horses who would enjoy some pats and treats, please let me know!

I'm a single late-30s woman who moved here a few years ago and want to find a new relationship. Every time I look for info or posts on where to meet people the comments are always "lol dating sucks good luck" or "join a group." My interests are all predominantly female/solo/elderly-dominated, and I don't want to pretend to like hiking or team sports.

I have friends, but I don't have a huge social circle who know any potential men I could date.

Which bars/gigs/events might I have a good chance at meeting new people if I went out alone? Or do I just accept that dating apps are the only reasonable option?

Visiting Launnie for the first time and looking for a recommendation for a 40th birthday dinner for couple and 6 year old. Open to any cuisine, must be special but comfortable, and not over the top or ridiculously priced. Kid is well behaved and a good eater but must still be suitable. Staying near the seaport so close by would be great but not necessary. Can’t wait to visit your lovely city!

Hey everyone! My girlfriend and I are moving from the Gold Coast and landing in Tassie on August 15th, looking for a cozy spot to settle into.

​I'll be working as a mental health clinician in town and she is a pastry chef. We're in our mid-20s, very respectful, and mostly out at work during the week. We are also completely happy to start in a short-term rental until we find a permanent place!

The places where I currently shop for them is the post office, What‘s New, Peter Alexander, Woolies Florist and Toy World. I’m just wondering if there are any more shops that sell them ?

I've been there a couple times. The seating is uncomfortable and impractical (why so many tables for large groups?). Service is pretty shit and pizza menu is pretty boring.

Is there a butcher or shop that sells steaks?

Any good recommendations of where to get good cake slices? Im usually after a good chocolate cake or a tres leches cake, but open to any other recommendations of the best cake!

Looking for any options where I can run 16/17km out and back and have some drink taps roughly every 5km. Any suggestions?

Paramedics have been told to take complex cardiac patients in Tasmania's north-west to the Launceston General Hospital rather than the Mersey Community Hospital.

There are concerns it will hamper ambulance availability in the north-west and contribute to paramedic fatigue, as they will spend longer on the road.

The shuttles are more for getting people between the tracks, it's not like "As a non-mountain bike user, I can just turn up and get picked up from either town". Is there anywhere else in tas like it, where it goes from agricultural/poppies to ferns at wilderness, then more ferns and more forest/wilderness? It changes about 3 times or more from memory. I understand there's a lot of forestry, when I went through someone wrote "Scenic view next 500m" with an arrow and I stopped, climbed up this huge bank to a valley of felled trees that looked as big as Lton itself!
