Support How’s your experience with UPS?

My Lenovo laptop was originally scheduled for delivery on September 1st, then delayed to September 2nd, and now pushed back again to September 3rd.
Tracking has been stuck at Castle Donington, UK since August 31st at 20:05, with no new scans for almost 2 days.
Route:
China → India → Germany → UK → Belfast
Has anyone else experienced this with UPS? Is it normal for a parcel to sit at Castle Donington this long, or could there be an issue?

Support A little help with temps doubts on new Legion

Hi, I just bought a new Legion 5 and as I was checking it out I noticed that the temps on idle where a bit high. Using Legion Space it marked around 65º idle, never going down from 60. I was starting to get worried and decide to check with Lenovo Vantage that also has a temp feature, and this time it was 51º.

With Vantage still on, opened again Space and it marked 65/61 once more, and vantage went up to 59. Closed Space, went back down to 51.

So my question is if this is normal behaviour and what should i check temps with. I'm hoping Vantage is giving me the most accurate reading, and Space is just too resource heavy and unreliable to do temps readings. Keyboard feels always warm but maybe that is how is supposed to be (better warm outside than inside) Also should Space and X-Rite run on start up?

Any suggestion for a new user would be appreciated, thanks!

Support Legion 5a Gen 11 keyboard EC/firmware bug?

Just picked up a new Legion 5a Gen 11 (15AHP11 Type 83Q7), with Ryzen 7 250, RTX 5060, and the single-zone RGB keyboard (this may be important?).

Otherwise an excellent laptop, my unit is unfortunately plagued by what seems to be a software bug whose main symptom is inserting erroneous space characters when typing. I'm wondering if anybody else is able to reproduce this, as I have contacted Lenovo support and ultimately received a generic response suggesting depot support, which I am against as I believe this can likely only be addressed by a BIOS update.

The easiest way to reproduce this is to open a text editor, and clicking the very edge of the spacebar (left or right works). Normally, this should start inserting many space characters, but the bug causes it to insert just one, and not repeat. Then, if any other character is pressed (or released), the spacebar will "realize" it's being held, and send another KEYDOWN event, and begin behaving normally.

I have been able to reproduce this on my unit in Windows, Linux, and in the UEFI settings.

Support GPU not being recognized by windows

FYI, I started typing this up myself and it sounded confusing so I had chat gpt reword it to sound better. Sorry, I have kids and I’m tired lol

Specs: Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IRX8H (82WQ) with an i9-13900HX and RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.

Before anything something that could be relevant…
About a year ago I dropped the laptop. It wasn’t a huge drop, but the chassis has a slight bend in it. I’ve continued gaming on it heavily for the entire year without any GPU problems until now.

I’m having a really strange GPU/driver issue and I’m wondering if anyone has any insight?

The problem started when I noticed my laptop speakers weren’t working properly. While troubleshooting, I also discovered that Halo would no longer launch, giving me an error saying my GPU/driver wasn’t supported.

Here’s what I’ve found so far:
Lenovo Vantage was showing an NVIDIA graphics driver update failing to install.

NVIDIA Control Panel was missing.

In Device Manager, the RTX 4090 initially appeared, but showed: Code 45 — “Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer.”

I switched Lenovo Vantage from Hybrid Mode → dGPU Mode, restarted, and the problem remained.

I then uninstalled the RTX 4090 device from Device Manager and restarted.

After restarting, the RTX 4090 did not come back under Display Adapters. Only Microsoft Basic Display Adapter was showing.

I checked msinfo32 → Components → Problem Devices, and it showed nothing.

I ran:
pnputil /scan-devices
and Windows still didn’t rediscover the 4090.

I also checked the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter’s Hardware IDs and got:
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_2757
So Windows is apparently identifying an NVIDIA device.

I checked BIOS, and BIOS explicitly detects “NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU.”

I also tried a full power/EC reset (shut down, unplugged, held power button for ~30 seconds), but Windows still only showed Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

So I’m wondering:
Is this likely a Windows/driver issue, firmware issue, or could the RTX 4090/motherboard have developed a hardware problem?

The fact that BIOS sees the 4090, while Windows falls back to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, is what really has me confused.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions for what to check next. I’d especially like to know if there’s a way to determine whether this is hardware failure before I start reinstalling Windows or paying for a motherboard repair.

Showcase Legion tab y700 gen 4

Anyone more versed able to give me a better idea on the state of the snapdragon 8 elite when it comes to drivers and emulation? All I see are reports reviews and benchmarks of this CPU/gpu combo smacking benchmark charts etc yet in Eden, cemu, and xendroid, with the drivers recommended, I get less sustained fps when compared to my portal 2 or Thor, both with weaker chips.

Now performance could stay how it is and I'd still love the y700 for what it already does.

I'm using turnip 8 gen v31/32/33. Mrpurple etc

Advice In need of laptop choice advice

I'm going to uni. I'm going to study engineering and I need a new laptop.

My main choice is a Lenovo legion 5 15ahp10 (24gb ram, 1tb storage, 5060 oled) for €1300.

My dad is a ThinkPad guy and says that I need those laptops cause they can withstand the everyday carrying and opening/closing which will happen on uni.

I wanna choose the legion 5 bc I would like to play a little Forzahorizon 5 and See of thieves, and I know that it will run the CAD programs well.

pls tell me what materials the legion is made of and if I should consider a ThinkPad or the legion can withstand the daily carrying.

Support Esc/FnLock light is on when waking up regardless

When I lock the computer and wake it up a few minutes later (30 minutes) the FnLock light is always on. Even if the FnLock is off.

So if I press Fn+Esc then it starts to show me the real state of FnLock.
If it was On when the computer slept and I come back it will turn off when pressing Fn+Esc;
If it was Off when the computer slept and I come back it will stay on when pressing Fn+Esc;

I know it's a minor bug but it bothers me to have a light indicator that lies to me unless I toggle it twice.

Support Boot loop after routine maintenance

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Routine fan maintenance, made sure to unplug the battery and discharge any power and avoided touching anything else

Used a toothbrush and a toothpick to hold down and clean the dust from the fans

Popped the backplate back on and tried booting the laptop

Stuck in a loop of "Preparing Automatic Repair" and normal boot sequence

I can access bios just fine however the keyboard does not seem to work and running uefi diagnostics showed that my 3 usb ports were not being detected though power was going through

I'm in the process of making a windows 11 usb drive and doing a fresh install

Any suggestions?

Support Spare parts for 2019 Y540

I got a Lenovo Legion y540 back in 2019. It's the i7 Model with the RTX2060.

Long story short my battery no longer holds a charge so I need a replacement.

Also my fan has started to make like a grinding sound when it fires up so I've stopped using it.

It cleaned out the fan to check for debris etc so it's not that. I think the bearings in the fan have worn down considering it's 7 years old now.

Is there anywhere reputable that I can buy a spare battery and fans so I can replace them?

I see lots of cheap knock off parts online but I don't want to put them in my laptop.

I'm planning to eventually replace it in a couple of years but it still runs fine for what I need.

I'm based in the EU.

Advice Lenovo Legion Slim 7 camera undetected advice?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have a Lenovo Legion S7-15ACH6 and the built-in camera has been completely dead for a while. At this point Windows doesn’t even recognize that the laptop has a camera.

The camera doesn’t show up anywhere in Device Manager, even with hidden devices enabled. The Windows Camera app gives me error 0xA00F4244 .

So far I’ve tried reinstalling the official Lenovo Windows 11 camera driver, scanning for hardware changes, doing a full power/EC reset, checking the BIOS, checking USB devices in Device Manager, and making sure the physical camera shutter is open. Nothing. Windows acts like there is physically no webcam connected.

The frustrating part is that I originally tried to get this fixed by Lenovo while the laptop was still under warranty.

Lenovo sent a technician out to repair it, and during the repair the technician actually shattered/damaged my screen. Because of that, they had to repair/replace the display afterward. But after all of that, the original camera problem was never fixed.

Now the laptop is out of warranty, even though I originally reported the camera failure while it was still covered.

Considering the camera is completely absent from Device Manager and the display assembly was worked on/replaced, I’m starting to wonder if the webcam itself is dead or if the camera cable was disconnected/damaged during the repair.

Has anyone with a Legion S7-15ACH6 had their internal camera completely disappear from Device Manager like this?

Also, has anyone had success getting Lenovo to reopen an old warranty case when the original issue was reported under warranty but was never actually fixed?

Advice 5070 vs 5060 vs 5070ti

I have this bad boy, and I’m planning to upgrade the GPU. My current laptop is pretty much a god-tier quiet, runs every game at a very decent FPS, and overall I’m really happy with it.

The only issue is that sometimes my FPS drops a little. When that happens, I increase the fan speed from blue to white, then red, and the FPS goes back up.

So my question is: Is upgrading to an RTX 5070 or 5070 Ti really worth it, or will the performance be nearly the same as my current GPU?

I’m mainly wondering if the upgrade would make a noticeable difference in real-world gaming performance, or if I should just keep my current laptop.

and i think 5080 and 5090 is too hot chip.

Support Stuttering in games in a brand new laptop

I recently got the lenovo legion 7i here are the complete specs:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 255HX (2.40 GHz)

Installed RAM 32.0 GB

Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU (8 GB)

Intel(R) Graphics (128 MB)

Storage 1 TB

I installed hogwarts legacy and it was stuttering even though i have high fps, i figured it was because it was a very heavy game but when i tried it with minecraft (modded ~ around 600 mods) it stuttered aswell while averaging at 140+ fps.

What could be the reason/fix for this? I figured nothing could go wrong since this is completly brand new.

Model: Lenovo Legion 7 Pro RAM: 32GB GPU: RTX 4080 CPU: I9-14900HX Storage: 1TB

It’s averaging about 4FPS in Minecraft all of a sudden, and being just as slow in the Sims, both games it used to do with ease days ago. I had left my laptop on with a game still playing, and it had turned off overnight. When I booted it back up, it seemed as if it had updated and now my laptop is running as if it’s not the beast it is. Even in performance mode, the GPU is working fine, the CPU is working fine, drivers and BIOS are updated, I’m all out of ideas guys, and I’ve had it for less than 2 years
