Discussion What Comes Around
Remember when farmers told student borrowers, “You borrowed it, you pay it back”? Funny how quiet it gets when they’re the ones getting the checks. Must be that special kind of socialism that doesn’t feel like socialism.
Anyway—just returning the same advice: You took the loans. You pay them back.
Sincerely, A New/Beginning Farmer

They'll take the bailout and then find someone worse than Dear Leader to vote for next time. Maybe Stephen Miller will be their next golden god? Or maybe he's not far right enough for them.

Yeah, funny how it's OK taking government money is OK when you're a farmer that's been screwed by the system as opposed to when you're a minimum wage worker or a college grad taking government money because the system has screwed you over.

The difference is, farmers will probably end up getting bailed out while Republicans blocked aid to students.

Farmers are rural and represnet a very small population but have a lot of senators and represnetatives. College educated people are likely in "liberal" cities.

“Rules for thee not for me” is the rights golden rule. Anything the “others” get is worse than Hitler, but should anyone on their side want ANYTHING… is the basic human decency. It’s what Jesus would want… while they cheer on working mom getting ripped away from their babys
It’s a cult. Not figuratively speaking but literally a cult

If they weren't hypocrites then they wouldnt be republicans.
Only thing that pisses me off is that I get foot the bill for another f-ing republican economic crisis, like the fourth damn one of my life at least, and I get no benefit from it.
Kinda getting sick of subsidizing republicans and their stupidity/hate.

Exactly. I’m tired of funding their poor business practices. Let them suffer the market and let them use their own money to bail themselves out.

Also this bail out will only temporarily fix their issue. They still have no where to sell their crops with the orange clown wrecking soy beans being bought by other countries and USAID the market will not turn around fast enough to help them after the bail out. To me it seems like a terrible waste of money but to the GOP they are using it to get the votes because the clowns will vote right back. This is going to be a revolving door until or if we get rid of the current administration

It is different for them. Students go to college to get life skills and a career. Farmers are superior because they grow food to sell to China. s/

Farmers don't do loans. Grants, cash bailouts, subsidies, helicopters dumping bags of cash.
You know how you pay your insurance on your home and car you use to drive to work? Farmers are having YOU pay for over 66% of their crop insurance premiums. They're too entitled to even fund their own insurance payments.
Farmers are America's #1 Welfare Queens.

Especially hilarious given their debt can be discharged via bankruptcy but not students

Yeah, You borrowed and now you pay back.but not farmers.. they get welfare to keep them fed

Farmers get grants not loans. Loans are to be paid back. Welfare is welfare, not grants.

u/JeezyVonCreezy Dec 08 '25
Yeah but most of these bailouts will go to the banks that hold their loans. It's as much a banking bailout as a farm bailout. And it's their fault it's happening again. But we better bail out those soybean farmers because otherwise they won't be able to afford another side by side.

Oh yes bail out students(SOCIALISM), but bailout the farmers every year. SOCIALISM. Yup both get social payments yet the farmers put them on their budget forecast every year, bend the bill of their ball cap so they can see in the mailbox for that check easier.

Doesn't matter they all voted for Trump and so will get Trump's bail out money. You want to stop this write you congressman and let them know you are not happy with this.

I would probably get better results if I nailed my scrotum to the floor while reading Mad Magazine and called Dr. Ruth.

And that is exactly what all our representatives want you to think. Go to their town halls both in-person and virtually. Express your anger and outrage. Not participating in democracy is why we are here in the first place.

They voted for an evil maniac who proceeded to destroy everything for no reason whatsoever.
Now they want bailouts and the rest of us who are paying through our teeth bc of the tariffs they voted to install with trump, have to pay their tariff bailouts.
Actually them selfish pieces of schitt farmers might be onto something for themselves....

100% agree. The hypocrisy is profound and the ignorance glows. The self-pity while lacking self-awareness is extraordinary. They need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps just like they told the rest of us to do.
