I'm stoned so be gentle with me please
I wonder if people just stopped buying beef from anyone but non trump farmers? Like don't buy the imported beef...for obvious reasons...but also don't support the ones that put themselves into this spot.
Maybe this is dumb but idk

First we need to seize all their assets though and make them 1,000% reliable on public defenders.
Justice will be served when the Trump family has all of their assets seized and they become paupers.

I promise you, he's not going to run for a 3rd term. Has he done anything he's said? He's done every single thing kamala would of done except our southern border is closed. That's it. Literally. You're going to live to see tomorrow. Rest assured.

The people who are intentionally seeking out non maga farmers are the exact people who will do their own research to make sure.
You have made comments on numerous posts regarding trump and other politicians, like Senator Mike Rounds from your home state of South Dakota so I'm sure someone could figure it out if they looked hard enough.

Imo..almost impossible unless you're buying direct, which is a tiny percent of the market.
Everything else (restaurant, food service, retail grocery) goes through distribution channels.
Plus we know that 80% of the farm county vote went Trump.Ā Just guessing you can count all the non Trump cattle ranchers in the US on 2 hands....even if you're a HS shop teacher.

I found ground 80/20 angus sirloin at Kroger for 4.99 three weeks ago. I bought like 12 pounds, all but 2 packs in the case. (Because I thought the checkout might say something if I took them all). Fridge stocked.

This fella sums up the problem pretty nicely. Us smaller cattle producers would love to cut out the middle man (feedlot), but we can't compete on a resources scale (sales or cattle)

I buy locally from a farmer I know. Immigrant family that Iām about 95% sure never voted for the guy, they donāt even strike me as the voting type. That being said my doc doesnāt allow me to eat a lot of beef but the chicken is amazing. It used to be double or even triple the price of the organic chicken at the grocery store (doubts on how organic) but now with inflation his prices are comparable for a whole chicken.

But everyone has the time and means to eat less meat. Adjusted for inflation, tofu prices are at an all time low. The price per pound of tofu is very reasonable even compared to the cheapest meats. It's a great source of protein.Ā
Beans, lentils, legumes, etc. can be purchased for substantially less than meats. Buying in bulk yields even greater savings. They are a great source of fiber and protein too.Ā

Unfortunately, unless you come from a subculture or ethnicity where vegetarian foods are common, it really is a huge effort to get it together to eat that way because it's just not a part of shared mainstream US food culture. I always remember the section in Barbara Ehrenreich's "Nickeled and Dimed," in which she went undercover to see what it was like to survive in low-wage jobs, how she went in planning to eat cheap nourishing food like lentil soup and ended up eating stuff like chips because that was what she realistically had the time and opportunity to get.Ā

Itās not that difficult if you just pretend you are Mexican. Yes, Mexicans eat a lot of meat, but they also have a lot of poverty foods that are either vegetarian or use meat as a flavor rather than a main ingredient.
It does take some initial input though, thatās very true, if you didnāt learn how to eat like a Mexican from your Mexican family, youāre not going to figure it out overnight while super exhausted and busy.

This latest debacle was what I needed for me to give up beef. I was thinking about cutting back anyway, and no way do I want this recalled mystery meat. More vegetables, chicken and fish going forward.

My local grocery stores don't tend to identify geographically where meat comes from. Occasionally you'll get a label like "USDA" or "Amish" or something but that's it.Ā

Dude, I stopped buying red meat with exception of hamburger once or twice a month. Maybe hotdogs if that counts as meatā¦. Itās just too expensive!
I think of myself as a middle class, meat loving Americanā¦ but I just canāt! $18-24 a pound for steak? $7.99 a pound for London broil on deep discount?

unfortunately beef is a commodity, co-mingled and doesnāt have country of origin labeling. what we need is COO labeling so we can buy only imported because most those ranchers are MAGA.

Weāre lucky enough to live in a place with a lot of farms. Itās pretty easy to know who has good values and buy local. Plus, I hunt. We donāt eat any meat that comes from more than a couple of counties away.

Nope. These people hate people and cultures that they have never seen or interacted with. They think everyone who lives in an inner city is a leach on society and gets everything free. I grew up on a gentlemanās farm and even back then the surrounding farmers loathed ācity folks - and foreignersā - this was 30 years prior the internet and this prejudice was based on here-say, local papers and the 5 tv stations that existed.
These farms have been getting subsidies and incentives, USDA crop insurance and tax benefits to NOT produce at capacity to hike prices. The farmers you hear bitching arenāt the conglomerate companies that produce the bulk of the food supply.
We traveled a lot, Iāve got a friend who is about my age 66, he and his wife have never been beyond 120 miles from his home.
