Please just tell the truth then

Is the American food system about to essentially crash, and do you think they are doing this on purpose to make the U.S. population reliant on the government for food or something?

What is happening here do you think..?

527

u/cvc4455 2d ago

It's in project 2025 and they are doing this on purpose.

273

u/athairdurden69 2d ago edited 2d ago

I remember arguing with someone that Project 2025 was scary. They insisted I was just overreacting and that it’s not even a thing. Sometimes I think about them. As they see this all unfolding now, do they think of that argument.

217

u/Artaxmudshoes 2d ago

I warned my MAGA father about project 2025 and Trump's plans to be an authoritarian. He replied, "he said he didn't know anything about project 2025 and if he was going to try to be an authoritarian why didn't he do it in his first term?"

An unwilling administration of old guard GOP that are now all gone. He tried to do insane shit allxthe time his first term. I feel like im living in bizzaro world when people tell me his 1st term was good or ok. Nonstop treason, lies, and stealing. The big difference now is the bottom feeders he found to go along with everything this time.

107

u/Artaxmudshoes 2d ago

They live in an alternate reality. I told him, "I don't know how you missed trump sending a violent mob to stop the peaceful transfer of power, the false electorates, and the lies about the election."

77

u/AandJ1202 2d ago

That was the insane topping on the cake. All the pandemic fuck ups, the PPP oversight/robbery, the USPS takeover, anti vaccine shit and loads of other bullshit was only his last year in office. It was something crazy every fucking day since his inauguration in 2017. It really feels like we're living with pod people. Invasion of the body snatchers type shit. Like we're in a PKD novel.

44

u/Saint_Blaise 2d ago

Just remember, every republican ceded power to him.

6

u/VanbyRiveronbucket 2d ago

Some Pubs rejected him… then they were primaried or they retired. Not the biggest balls.

6

u/Painterzzz 2d ago

My semi regular reminder that in that brief moment of time when McConnel showed some guts in the day after the violent coup attempt, his sister suffered an accidental death at a party at his mansion where she drove her car into a pond and drowned. And weirdly suddenly next day McConnel was back to being 100% a Maga Loyalist.

No one ever talks about PPP anymore. What a money pit!

5

u/AandJ1202 1d ago

It was a free for all for him and all the scumbags that kissed his ass. Lots of maralago associates, crooked contractors, and other politicians just stole whatever they could and it was "forgiven." Once Biden got into office only regular people who tried to do the same thing were investigated and charged. Its a fucking joke. In some ways democrats are trash too but MAGA is on another level of scum. The GOP was bad enough before the MAGA movement.

3

u/RowForLuckyJack 1d ago

Well don't forget that Tom Brady got millions from PPP despite already being worth over $200M at the time

I remember how peaceful and low stress the Biden administration was. I woke up one morning about two months in and told my wife, "omg, I didn't feel compelled to check Google news this morning"

I hate that I'm back to that now. Literally checking the news three times a day to find out who we're at war with now...

The thing I see a thread through with true believers is their insistence on doing your own research bc they had “done” their own. Feels like a bunch of dummies were told if you believe this you’ll be smarter than the educated people.. no point here, just something I’ve noticed.

5

u/Painterzzz 2d ago

and their 'research' is always related to the youtube algorithm. THey watch one pro Trump video, their feed shows them nothing but, and then they go oh, okay, this is reality then.

3

u/Agitated_Custard7395 1d ago

Exactly, no one normal has done any research, so “do your own research” just means watching a bunch of grifters on YouTube, this is especially evident in the crypto space

He also wasn't a convicted fellow facing years in prison his first term. He has made thousands of promises to some of the worst people in the world to keep him out of jail. Now he's keeping those promises.

15

u/AandJ1202 2d ago

He made deals with all these tech assholes too. The first term they were still pretending to be progressives. His first term was bad but this term is already breaking the whole country.

14

u/UpsetMathematician56 2d ago

It wasn’t good but I do think most of the old guard gop in the first term were just people I happen to disagree with but who genuinely believed in democracy and America and public service. This administration is all corrupt and in it for themselves.

11

u/AandJ1202 2d ago

So many of them played partisan bullshit games when it wasn't time for that anymore. I still think Russia and self preservation had a lot to do with it. They all hated Trump until that visit to Russia. But it was all a hoax I guess lol. Either way, they sold us out.

Remember when he said he wished he could order protestors shot (but I guess just in the legs or whatever)? Remember when he kept floating the idea of nuking nuisance foreign adversaries? Or fucking tornados? The people who told him that couldn’t be done are gone. There are only sycophants, clingers-on, and enablers in the entire administration. What’s next? He gonna dismantle our cybersecurity protections and invite everyone to hack all our organizations? Everything that has happened is their fault. Everything. Either they didn’t stop Trump, or they figured if they egged him on they could make a buck. There’s not a single competent person in this cabinet, which is the only saving grace; if anyone knew what they were doing we’d be even more fucked, somehow.

3

u/KetoJunkfood 2d ago

I actually wish he had just won in 2020 in many ways. He was less dangerous then though the first administration was also a disaster

I remember being so freaked out that he put generals in his first cabinet. Those generals turned out to be a necessary restraint on his power. Notice there’s no generals on his cabinet now!

3

u/AandJ1202 2d ago

His cabinet is filled with rich con artists and extremist freaks. In what world does a fucking weekend B rate Foxnews commentator get to be Secretary of Defense.

You might be right. The 4 year during Bidens presidency let the biggest frauds and scumbags form this insane new GOP. If he won in 2020 he may have had the same people around as the 1st term and just kept the smaller grifts going. This new administration is blatantly criminal and they dont care.

I thought the same thing earlier today pondering my orb. Would have just been better to get it over with.

2

u/TerrorFromThePeeps 7h ago

They willfully forgot the entire 80s and 90s in order to make him some sort of pious man of faith, so it's not surprising they also forgot the first term when he was running for a second.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ifmygrandmawasawheel 2d ago

This fact seems to have just disappeared. Has everyone forgotten how many ppl he fired for standing up to him. For fucks sake he ordered protesters to be shot and had to be told “no” then he ordered they be shot in the leg and had to be explained why they cdnt do that either. We wd have already been in a war w Iran if Hegseth and Rubio were secretary of defense and state his 1st term.

3

u/AandJ1202 2d ago

He was constantly trying to push people to do illegal shit. As shady and corrupt as his campaign people and advisors were, its 100 times worse now. Scary considering how bad it was the 1st time. Putin really got a huge return on his investment. Before the 2016 election i would have laughed that this guy was even running for mayor or something. Nevermind president. It's sad how dumb this country is.

u/lattice_defect 2d ago

he wasn't expecting to win the first term

6

u/StenSaksTapir 2d ago

That’s probably partly true.
It's my firm belief that Trump is merely the distraction, so that people will pay less attention to Project 2025 being implemented. He's not the mastermind here, though, and it doesn't reflect his values.
Project 2025 is a christofascist project, but Trump only cares about the fascist part because it helps feed his narcissism.

3

u/RIF_rr3dd1tt 2d ago

Mine just said "No, stop right there. I'm not gonna entertain any of that conspiracy theory shit." Now that I've "predicted" like, every shitty move over the past year and a half he's just quiet.

This administration is flailing now that they are in the war with Iran and can't extricate themselves. They have stumbled through everything they have attempted. Ice has been met with more outrage from the population and the judicial system is hold the line, mostly, albeit the supreme court. Yes it's possible the autocratic takeover succeeds but it is becoming more difficult for trump and his minions. Plus this has never been attempted on a powerful and large country before. If they fail to control the midterms and democrats win big, and the wins aren't recognized, the country will face a terrible and probably a violent situation. Trump is a sociopath, he doesn't have a conscience and will do whatever benefits him. He is never willingly leaving the White House.

5

u/DatabaseThis9637 2d ago

I'm wondering if he surrounded himself with narcissists, psychopaths, and sociopath's and ignoramuses like himself... Not of one of his cabinet demonstrates a healthy psyche.

u/Freezerpill 2d ago

Lol! They should know talking points ain’t changing shit and they still did the wrong thing!

3

u/bignutwilli 2d ago

Lol this is top tier cope. They'll say anything to avoid accountability for their shitty voting decisions. If they actually had a problem him switching, then that should've been a red flag to them back in 2016 and they wouldn't have voted for him. He was actually originally registered as a republican anyways, but he's switched parties multiple times throughout the years because he doesn't actually stand for anything. He just aligns himself with whomever he thinks will put more money in his pockets at the time.

Tell the ladies at the salon that the real reason he switched over is because when he decided to run for office, he realized how much easier it is to grift and lie to republicans. Then watch all the denial just start pouring out of em 🤣

2

u/Lowlt 2d ago

One of them sent a long text the next day after 2026 election. Saying her appointment book was going to flourish and she was going to make more money. She knows how it feels to lose after the 2020 election. 🤣 That same day my wife just threw on a black dress with no meaning behind it. She said you look like you are going to a funeral. My wife replied back something like "the funeral of our country." Now she is voting for the democrats in FL. We are both shocked by this. She was taking pics with her kids next to a cardboard cut out of Trump in the 2024 election. Maybe? There is hope....

Project 2025? This sounds crazy, there's no way. This is like a Democrat plant material, gahahah"

And I gave him sources. Everything citing republicans foaming at the mouth for project 2025 and he was just like "No waaaay man."

I stopped talking to him all together, but I imagine today he would say "that's not project 2025. That's not what was in the document "

DSA candidates are winning elections or coming extremely close. Opinions on Israel have shifted dramatically in a very short time. The Democrats are losing their base because they are corporate shills. These things take time. I felt so hopeless for months after the presidential election. I went to protests, I boycotted, I emailed Congress, and I vote when I can. For the first time in a while I'm feeling hopeful. The rats are starting to jump ship and the resistance is becoming more popular. Keep fighting. The pendulum will swing the other way. It ALWAYS does.

3

u/consequentlydreamy 2d ago

Gotta drop this here. Check your local candidates from working family party https://workingfamilies.org/candidates/

2

u/Witty-flocculent 2d ago

They absolutely foresee whats coming. Project 2025 is designed to completely dismantle public choice or any political or legal repercussions. The absurdity is the point in how they are forcing a rational system into an irrational shape. Being popular is NOT the point and would actually be a liability to the movements power.

When these traitors historic and legal punishment comes, it should not be popular either. It should extend to every associate, intern, and family member they have touched.

I am terrified come November since that's when they plan to essentially take over the elections and keep themselves in power, with no way to remove them from power if you continue to play by the rules.

From there, it's the end - and there is no coming back from November other than a complete revolution, which would take BOTH SIDES OF CIVILIANS to work together in order to defeat it...and good luck with that...They've done the best job ever at dividing us.

They won when they talked each American into hating the other, and making them think they wanted them dead. MAGA was told they were going to be replaced by LGBTQ, and LGBTQ was told they were going to be ousted because MAGA didn't want to be replaced.

Simple as that. One side fell for it hard. As I say: Do not blame the puppets. Blame the puppeteers. As long as we keep fighting each other, they're going to keep winning.

I don’t think it will crash, but it’s gonna be a huge concern that will need looking after. I’d say 10 years ago, it could be handled ok, but now, it’s going to be somewhat overwhelming. The systems and people put in place to assure safe food, have been stripped. Folks selling stuff on their own is cool and all, but I feel a majority of sellers will not adhere to the Food Code. Or will get lazy over time and eventually lead to foodborne illnesses. I see these videos of people selling various beef, but I notice it’s all just laid out in the open, is that just for the photo op, or has been sitting out longer then it should, as an example. I’ve inspected countless home kitchens selling food, and at 1/3 of them, I found unfit for selling, and at least half of them with major food code concerns. These concerns were corrected, but until I was sent to do that inspection, they’ve been doing it wrong for awhile. Honestly, it’s overwhelming and it gets my inspector hackles up, that there are gonna be a huge amount of home sellers, and not enough inspectors. Also working out of their home instead of a maintained food facility.

Food Safety and our health and safety is definitely at risk, and currently run by people that don’t see it that way. Who also choose to drink raw milk to show off.

Sry for typos.

Yeah, some people grow complacent if there's little to no oversight. It's an inevitability in pretty much any field.

Exactly.

3

u/iljune 2d ago

For sure. At some point people will just stop caring whether your food is safe or not because whatever, you'll buy it. One person spraying cleaner on the tomatoes by accident is nbd, it was just the one tomato.

I'm old enough to remember the kids in either BK or TB taking pics standing on top of the lettuce containers, and then uploaded them to some website. People were outraged. The kids were found, fined, and fired from their jobs. You just don't mess with food.

I think the export market could crash if standards cannot be maintained. It's not feasible for a buyer to test everything from the USA, but that's currently acceptable because there is high confidence in US standards enforcement.

If that confidence is lost, the USA could find itself excluded from export markets in a matter of days. E.g food safety is taken very seriously in the EU. They will have no hesitation banning everything from the USA if it can't meet standards.

As for the speculation about what the effects could be, one effect of losing export markets is that domestic producers will have to sell everything domestically. I imagine that would put a downward pressure on domestic pricing, which isn't a bad thing for customers. But if the pressure is so much that producers can't stay in business, that's a lot better for the oligarchy class who are buying up farmland at an alarming rate.

I was at a talk with Judy Woodruff last night, and she responded to someone's answer about the integrity of the midterm elections by saying that every major news channel in the country is preparing for the elections to be rigged or the results to not be honored. To clarify, she didn't say that would definitely happen. But that most of the big news media channels think it's likely, and are preparing to cover results that way.

It’s in Project 2025. Destabilize the food industry.
Everything he has done so far is all in there. We were warned, most didn’t care.
Project 2025 is cooking right along perfectly.

What's the plan after achieving Proj 2025? Some of the steps are clearing the way for a theocratic oligarchy. What does destabilizing the food industry do?

1

u/christianort476 2d ago

Not mention it will force those ranchers to sell which can lead to a monopoly on the meat industry or more land for more data centers

Rapid depopulation via misinformation of vaccines and adding as many hoops to jump through as possible for parents, causing massive food recalls, tariffs to make things extremely expensive, destroying trade deals and world relationships to isolate us, chaos in the streets leading to police occupation and a massive surveillance state. Peter thiel's dream. He said he didn't believe in humanities future, he wants to replace us all with robots.

2

u/Evening_Movie_833 20h ago

They are doing it on purpose. They all know exactly what they’re doing. This is chapter 13 of project 2025. Food insecurity for America. But actually project 2025 is actually about disrupting the global economy not just the United States.

2

u/Ninja-Trix 2h ago

It already has. After firing SO many people from government food regulatory groups, the amount of recalls for unsafe food is disgusting. All I gotta say is "diarrhea lettuce"

1

u/SignoreBanana 2d ago

They're trying to shut down independent farms in favor of mega farming corporations. Shutting them down over health concerns is an easy A to B step.

This is a non concern though. It's not like independent farmers are swimming in money to suddenly spin up facilities and process their own output.

1

u/Prudent_Order_3361 2d ago

The goal is fucking up the usa so badly that they can't recover before long long long time.

1

u/FlexFanatic 2d ago

Nothing will crash. There will a uptick in cases they lead to people getting sick and death, they’ll be news stories, but that will die down and Americans will accept it

1

u/IntelligentStyle402 2d ago

After reading Project 2025, republicans are giving us a taste of what will be coming down the road. Like a few top republicans stated, the people indeed are going to suffer. Republicans are marching us straight forward into a totalitarian dictatorship. We will have nada.

1

u/hup_hup 2d ago

It’s not to make Americans rely on the government lol… its to make them rely on corporations with monopolies who also happen to be owned by their friends.

1

u/dr_rocksos_emporium 2d ago

Soo why not just buy from someone local that raises cattle and have it processed locally?

1

u/Maatix12 2d ago

They are also gutting government food spending programs.

They aren't making people reliant on the government. They are planning to let you have no option, get sick, and die - Or just die from starvation.

Yes, they are that malicious. We tried to warn everyone.

Hope that helps.

1

u/BENNYRASHASHA 2d ago

What's happening? Billionaires threw trumpturd into office so they can dismantle the government and deregulate their money making schemes and scams. Meanwhile, trumpturd's incompetent ass is throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks. Everything falls apart, and tech bros take over and make us their serfs.

1

u/Possible-Nectarine80 2d ago

Soylent orange.

1

u/Savvymundo 2d ago

Money, they want money. Regulations prevent them from making as much money as they could if there were no regulations.

It's not deep, its not a conspiracy, it just basic greed.

1

u/Covered-n-Mud 2d ago

To make us weak and sick and unable to rebel. It'll make it easier to do the other stuff.

1

u/Weird_Paramedic6502 2d ago

It’s just decentralizing protections while consolidating power for the rich and powerful. Think corporate and billionaire controlled fiefdoms.

1

u/Lemonbard0 2d ago

It's not to make people more reliant on the government, it's actually the opposite. Most of the actions they have taken have stopped or otherwise weakened the government's ability to regulate things. Reduced regulation means that corporations can do whatever they want, which will allow them to increase profit margins.

The USDA saw a large enough staff reduction that they had to pause certain inspections. Programs like USAID would normally provide funding to address foreign issues like outbreaks of diseases affecting cattle, or cyclospora, that will inevitably affect us too if not mitigated as much as possible.

1

u/Robertjules1987000 2d ago

They want to destroy ALL regulation by the government and let companies do as they will.

These retards are free market capitalist who think pure supply/demand forces will prevent companies from making bad products AND/OR crony capitalist who just want to extract as much cash in a short time frame as possible, even if it leaves all systems wrecked beyond repair.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Sky7341 2d ago
  1. Crash generational American farmers into the ground.
  2. Buy up their farmland for cheap/or at least first right of refusal.

It’s the opposite, they are destroying all safety nets and making it so you can’t rely on the government for anything. Then you can be exploited by the Jeff Bezos’ of the world.

Republicans have been systematically dismantling government while saying government is the bad guy for decades.

I want a government that enforces safety standards, uses my tax money to make things better and doesn’t let kids starve or go without medical treatment.

1

u/Freezerpill 2d ago

1

Genuinely, you don't have to look further than idiocy. Someone mentioned the food processors costing farmers and he thought it would be a quick way to appeal to the population. No thoughts to consequence or 2nd and 3rd order effects. He just does shit he hears.

1

u/Photochromism 2d ago

The Republicans are a death cult. This is an attack on Americans. Every single awful policy they enact is harmful to us all

1

u/Jackdks 2d ago

No- the American food system is not about to crash. This post is also misleading. What trump wants to do is essentially allow producers (farmers) to bypass USDA regulated and inspected meat processing plants.

Basically, instead of sending their meat to Tyson (or one of the other major packers of which there’s 4 others) they can process and sell the meat themselves.

This just means there’s less oversight on food safety- which in most cases will be fine. It could also lead to reduced food costs.

However, as we know with capitalism and greed- the fear is that producers will cut standards to reduce costs. This could lead to a potential health crisis if a bunch of people start getting sick. However, those would be fewer cases than if there was an issue with a major meat packer.

This has nothing to do with America being able to produce a certain quantity of food, but rather less oversight on the food safety part of things

1

u/SteveLouise 2d ago

I think they're trying to destroy the county for Russia.

1

u/Insila 2d ago

More like, half the US food production belongs to big farma (lol). For meat packing it's the vast majority owned by the 4 big ones.

I suppose their plan is to crash the small farmers and ranchers so the big players can pick them up for cheap.

1

u/1767gs 2d ago

The first thing you do is get rid of the books, then the food, then the water, then...

1

u/kalimashookdeday 2d ago

Russian assets going to sabotage and Russian asset? Think about each decision and why it always negatively affects us, our allies, our standing, and always benefits or is 100% neutral to hostile and enemy countries who we should be hardlined against but oddly enough, don't ever talk about, mention, or act upon.

1

u/twinkiefarmer 2d ago

Isn't it illegal because it could checks notes threaten the American food system?

1

u/snotrokit 2d ago

It’s crashing on purpose so that rich megadoners can swoop in and take it all.

1

u/anarchitek1 2d ago

They are doing it because the Party of No Ideas, aka the Guardians Of Perverts, WANTS to kill millions! Ideally, they would like to kill 2 billion of you "non1essential" personnel, to scale the population back to 1950 levels. Not a joke.

1

u/Empty_Specialist7467 2d ago

100% on purpose, those meatpacking megadonors are driving cattle prices through the roof to inflate the market and drive out small producers, they are bringing back cattle barons of the 1800s, look at the land gates, zuckafuck, Winfrey all these rich assholes are sucking up, it’s the false promise of freedom because they know they can make the little guys take the hits and take everything from them, it’s the same thing hedge funds do with hostile takeovers, if they can’t buy you out they will force you out.

1

u/Ok_List7506 2d ago

The 5 percent of us who raise livestock will be just fine because we are in regular contact with the bacteria contained in cattle. I highly suggest the rest of you eat your hamburger very well done.

1

u/Powerful_Cash1872 1d ago

Animals eat more food than they create. The idea that the work of animal farmers is necessary for food security is propaganda.
