Farmers want ANOTHER bailout

American farmers are facing their worst economic crisis in decades, with bankruptcies soaring and family farms at risk of disappearing. But why are taxpayers being asked to bail out farmers who voted against their own interests - again?

It hasn't though, republicans regularly run farmers out of business.

Who survives is larger farmers who can demand even more subsidies.

Just family farms suffer. Big corporate farms do very well. More family farms were lost under Trump 45 than the Great Depression, but the evangelical rural farmer is voting on abortion and trans fears.

Well stupid decisions like prioritizing voting a certain way because people you'll never meet scare you have consequences I guess.

I do think the republicans are even dumping on the corporate farmers now. I'm sure some of the larger farms were selling soybeans or beef.,,

Most farmers have more money than you realize. Them going "broke" means selling off a few assets, not losing the farm. These people want you to think there losing everything so you'll buy their products or agree to a bailout, but behind closed doors they are not hurting anywhere near enough to actually regret their vote. They are drama and welfare queens.

The number of farm losses/foreclosures is a fairly objective measure of how often that happens.

Farm loses are going up, to be sure. But most farmers are not on the brink of losing their farm.

I should hope not that would be like the majority of workers being on the brink of long term unemployment. We tend to get ansy when that number climbs significantly anyway.

I agree. I was just pointing out that my original point stated "most" in the same context. Not saying there are not people losing their farms but the flood on social media about it might make people think otherwise.

Yes I keep hearing that farmer suicides are up and yet there are still plenty left to complain.

The farmer subsidies had to go up to offset the intentional damage the Trump administration was causing.

These people voted in this regime knowing full well that they were going to mess things up. What they thought was that they specifically would be taken care of regardless.
