We aren’t buying beef in this household for the foreseeable future. I’m not putting my babies at risk because the village idiots elected a clown to run the show.

I’m only buying from my local butcher/processor, who is USDA certified. I don’t have the charming reliance on the innate goodness of American food producers that this demands.
Libertarians getting their dream world of no regulations on business and no protection for consumers. Their likely response “When you see people getting ill or dying from contaminated food you can choose the safer option - the market is supreme”.

Unfortunately, I’ve made the decision not to buy anymore meat…including restaurants. Between the high prices, mystery meat and deregulation, my confidence in US meat products has taken a BIG hit.
This is a great idea- take ranchers and farmers who arent set up to process meat, and have them process meat. I am sure this wont end up with massive waste and grift. Freedumb at its finest.
I doubt Don has a clue of the facilities needed to start with a live cow and ultimately turn out a packaged beef product. An average cow has more than 8 gallons of blood that must be disposed of. About 40% of the cow is carcass that must be disposed of. A couple cows for family and friends is manageable. Beyond that, you have very specialized facilities.
They've got quite an uphill battle if that's their plan... its pretty taboo to eat horses in the states. Most people are gonna have to be starving before they cross that bridge.
💯 this. Let the idiots buy it and help thin their own ranks. I saw a clip of a lady that's a small rancher and is so excited about this. Oh, honey, no smart person intends to buy your unregulated beef. You're setting yourself up for a liability nightmare in the process. A few lawsuits should change her tune.
Remove all those pesky food safety rules, make everyone so sick so they cant VOTE !
Voting out MAGA control of both houses of congress and then making it very clear to the new congressional leaders that we want impeachment and replacement needs to happen in NOV. Everyone do your part, and in Red states , check your registration now , there are efforts to cut folks off the rolls in TX and MO .. Help yourself and then others to get out the vote !

He's just making it hard for people in the US to avoid catching disease for the sake of profit. I trust the ethics of US Beef Farmers as much as I do the unregulated South American meat being bought in an attempt to bring the price down (that will never work)

Weakening safety standards on American beef will be a surefire way to kill American beef ranching for good. Food poison or kill a few people, some mass meat recalls, and boom public confidence evaporates. We’ll be begging for foreign beef with higher safety standards before you know it.
