Server Advertising I launched L2Developers, a development studio focused entirely on Lineage II private servers
https://l2developers.com/enHi everyone,
I’ve recently launched L2Developers, a project focused entirely on professional development for Lineage II private servers.
The idea is simple: instead of offering only a specific pack or a few scripts, we can develop custom solutions based on what a server owner actually needs.
Some of the things we work on:
• Custom server systems
• NPCs, quests and events
• PvP and PvE features
• AI player and bot systems
• Community Board features
• Websites and control panels
• Launchers, patchers and updaters
• Guards and protection systems
• API, payment and Discord integrations
• Database and backend development
• Bug fixes and performance optimization
• Full server development
We work mainly with Java-based projects such as L2JMobius, aCis and custom sources, across different chronicles.
If you are a server owner and have an idea, even if you don't know exactly how it should be implemented technically, feel free to contact us. We can evaluate the concept and propose a solution.
Website:
Feedback on the website and the project itself is also welcome.
If you can imagine it, we can build it.

You could not even build your own studio website without AI, literally whole site is complete AI built stuff from CSS to images... holy crap I don't want event to know how you build your "products"

A studio focused on stolen IP? Good luck with that..

Stolen IP because AI is part of the workflow? That’s a pretty stupid take. AI doesn’t magically build, test, debug and maintain a working project by itself. I spend hours, days and entire nights reviewing code, fixing bugs, rewriting shit that doesn’t work and testing everything myself. Using AI as a development tool doesn’t make the final work‘stolen IP any more than using an IDE, Stack Overflow or documentation does. If you have an actual example of stolen work, post it. Otherwise stop talking out of your ass.

You literally build on top of a copyright property of another company, AI has nothing to do with it.

Yes, Lineage II is owned by NCSoft. No shit. That still doesn’t mean every piece of code, tool, website, system or service made for Lineage II is ‘stolen IP’. There’s a massive difference between stealing NCSoft source code/assets and independently developing software that works with an existing game ecosystem. By your logic, every modding community, emulator project, server tool and third-party utility ever made would be ‘stolen IP’. If you want to accuse me of stealing something, show exactly what I stole and from whom. Otherwise you’re just throwing around legal terms you clearly don’t understand.
Building something compatible with copyrighted software is not the same thing as owning or stealing that copyright. So.... Learn the difference!!!

Blizzard is now suing and shutting down all the biggest private servers in WoW ... doesn't matter that they run on an emulator.
The difference here is that Ncsoft doesn't really give a fuck about the pserver scene.
You're on some hardcore copium bro ... doesn't matter that you mod a reverse engineered L2J server emulator ... the client still uses the Lineage IP which is NCSoft's property ... and you're profiteering off it.
NC can send you a cease and desist or sue you.
"By your logic, every modding community, emulator project, server tool and third-party utility ever made would be ‘stolen IP’."
You are modding game files, not developing an overlay totally separate from the game or some webpage.
tbh I doubt that anything will happen to you legally, but you're in the wrong here technically
also a pretty big part of being a dev is that you know about software law, so that it won't bite you in the ass later on

And one last thing: before acting like some kind of copyright paladin, maybe get out of the Lineage II and WoW private server subreddits first. The hypocrisy is hilarious, preaching about ‘stolen IP’ while actively participating in communities built around unofficial versions of copyrighted games. At least try to be consistent before talking shit.

You directly take money for it. That's my issue. It's not donations or anything, straight up taking money for stuff. You don't even try covering your ass. We are here, in private servers communities, for the love of the game. Passionate people make stuff for the games we love and we have an option to donate money to them for their passion. And then you come and try upstraight selling things

IP is not stolen - l2 java servers are basically emulators under gpl license.

“L2J is open source, therefore running a Lineage II private server is legal” is some top notch BS.
The emulator being legal doesn’t magically grant you a license to NCSoft’s client, assets, trademarks, or game content. By that logic, writing a PlayStation emulator means Sony’s entire game library is suddenly freeware.

L2j files, are not ncsoft files/sources......

Very wrong logic but keep believing

Running Lineage II server files on a server that is emulating is nothing more than using mGBA to play Pokémon Fire Red on your smartphone. The emulator is legal, using copyrighted files without permission of the owner is illegal.
This is the whole Sony vs Bleem! legal case, Or Nintendo vs Yuzu.
The only reason why all these private servers get away with it is because NC is to lazy, to Korean focused, to spend money targeting illegal servers in South America, Eastern Europe and Russia.

I would have such a good time when NCSoft would hire me for just a month to snipe out all these private servers and push them to court over stolen IPs and copyright infringements.

Why would you brag on Lineage 2 subreddit about being an enforcer of a process that kills what we enjoy?
-2
u/DilithiumFarmer 14h ago
Because all of you are pussies that never played official servers, got no clue what actual drop rates, spoil rates and enchant rates are. This whole subreddit is one big circle jerk of people that never played anything below 10x rates.

That depends on what they do. Java emulators are legal, so is their (server) hosting. For most simple server the illegal part is modifying l2 client so it connects to the server.

Emulators are legal. Emulation copyrighted property is not.
Downloading mGBA is fine, downloading Pokémon Fire Red ROM file is illegal. And that is exactly what all these servers are doing.

I dont think you understand how l2 java emulator works. All it does is read and reply to packets sent by the client, there is nothing copyrighted there (which was reverse engineered so their original server code is not in use)
The client itself, and textures, sounds, etc - thats what actually is

Absolutely total delulu

You wrote it yourself under another comment - that illegal part is using copyrighted files - that is literally the client, not the server.
And its not even comparable to console emulators. This is a separate server, you can launch the game without it its not part of the game. Without local (where the game is) console emulator you wont even open the game
